In the heart of the historic centre of Lecce, Pollicastro Boutique Hotel is a historic residence, located in a 16th-century palace, also known as de’ Perroni, an appellation given to the entire street spanning from Porta San Biagio to Piazza Sant’Oronzo. Myths and legends intertwine in the history of this antique location, a fact that is confirmed by the discreet and precious details that can be glimpsed on the facade, among the golden reflections of the “pietra leccese” (the local limestone of Lecce): a small statue of Saint Oronzo, the first bishop of Lecce who lived during the Nero’s persecutions and became the Saint Protector of the city after the plague of 1656. An antique belief, passed down verbally, has it that Pollicastro was built on the ruins of the Saint's house. The boutique hotel was dictated by the building itself. Its uniqueness lies in the surprising diversity of the various halls, which almost implied to follow the historic layout of the structure, with the result that every space offers completely different sensations to the guests. Each piece of furniture or adornment was conceived, designed and made exclusively, a bit at a time, gathering inspiration by each single corner of the building. On the top of the building, the large roof garden, with an articulated series of green and intimate corners, where you can enjoy the morning sun and the evening freshness, with the swallows flying around the terraces.

Detailed Reviews
Everything is perfect in this hotel. We had a very stylish room on the roof terrace with an outdoor bathtub. The house has a long history and the architect found the perfect way to combine past and present. The staff was very friendly and professional and the served breakfast beats all that we had before, but it was way too much for 2 people. You can drive directly to the hotel, which is in the heart of the old town and your car will be parked outside.

Staying here exceeded our expectations. The place itself is so beautiful and feels like a palace (because it actually is). There is such attention to detail in everything throughout the entry, the common areas, and the rooms and the original artwork is truly unique. The rooms have giant one-piece marble tubs and the rooftop terrace was such a relaxing way to spend mornings and late afternoon before dinner.

What an incredibly beautiful hotel, with a lot of effort put into the look and feel of the hotel. I was truly wowed over the beauty of the hotel and it’s employees. Whilst not everyone speaks English even the room attendants tried by using Google translate. The breakfast is delightful even though it’s not buffet which I prefer. From smoothies to pancakes to eggs they will prepare anything you wish to have. The rooms are a sheer delight, I had booked a suite and boy was I impressed. Loved the location central to everything and was a delight coming back after strolling the beautiful old city of Lecce

This will be a most difficult review to write. Whereas the rooms and public areas are magnificently decorated and furnished, the positives end here. The service was HORRIBLE and the response time to problems, non-existent at best. We booked into the hotel for our 4 night stay and were required to pay in full, in advance, with numerous disclaimers telling you how your payments were non refundable and non changeable. Had we been able to, we would have checked out on the 2nd day. However, they reminded me that the payments would not be returned even though they were unable to correct the many issues we had. We had no tv service for 3+ days and no internet for 2 1/2 days. As my wife is a Dr., she needed to be online 24/7. This became a very expensive addition to our trip as she had to sign in through cellphone service. We were given a lot of lip service and the general manager made several appointments, none of which she ever showed up for. The “Octagonal” suite, an extraordinary room, had a round bed, fireplace, free-standing tub and huge chandelier.
For the prices they charge, not small by any stretch, they need to match the aesthetics to their service. Beauty alone does not warrant the expense if there is no substantive service. When I addressed these issues with the management, their adjustment for their lack of services was a $6 credit to my bill for a glass of wine. I paid the $6!

This boutique hôtel is a real gem! The 16th Century Palace is unique, as it is the staff professionalism and service. Breakfast is worth the three daily meals and the location in the very heart of the old town of Lecce is just perfect. A MUST GO!

Pollicastro is a beautiful boutique hotel which I could not fault in anyway. Right from check- in the staff provided excellent service. The freshly squeezed orange juice offered on arrival was also appreciated after a long day of travel. This boutique hotel is a former Palazzo which has been beautifully and tastefully decorated. The rooms are also large and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent, it served a variety of locally produced food items and provided great coffee and fresh orange juice. I would highly recommend the Pollicastro Boutique Hotel for your stay in Lecce as both the Hotel and the city are beautiful. Thank you to all staff for providing such great service.

Situated in the historical centre this hidden gem is a newly designed hotel and is beautiful. Think carefully about driving in as the city is narrow and you need to pay for valet parking 25euro. The rooms are delightful and a choice of four per-ordered breakfast menus which are generous. Would stay again anyday

We just returned from the most beautiful & relaxing trip.
Pollicastro was nothing short of sensational, we stayed in the suite with the cave pool which is even more beautiful in real life, the room echoes the ancient history of the building and was more than spacious.
Francesca and her team were so friendly & informative, nothing was too much trouble, the lady that served our delicious breakfast was the sweetest!
I can’t recommend the hotel enough, it’s a little heaven in the Center of it all.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our 14 night trip of travelling around Puglia and this was our favourite hotel. The building is a former 16th century palace and it's beautiful, many people stop by just to take photos. Our room was on the ground floor, it was very spacious, the bed was so comfortable, the best during our trip and the shower was excellent. The breakfast was great with a continental buffet and you can also order eggs, omelettes, pancakes if you wish. Not everyone seemed to be aware of this though so it would be helpful if they had breakfast menus on the table for the cooked items. The hotel is in an excellent location a short walk to all the main attractions, restaurants and bars in Lecce. Parking in Lecce is difficult so we used the hotels valet service which was excellent. Lecce is beautiful and we would love to return and to stay at Pollicastro again.

Also there was not a tub in the bedroom. I am sorry I cannot remember the room # but it was on the first floor
The room is called "Grand Delux Nymphaeum Suite with underground Cave pool"
la piscina della suite Ninfeo è riscaldata
