Detailed Reviews
This hotel located away from the city centre. On the plus side, there is free parking and it was never a problem to find a space for our car. However, we took taxis in and out of Lecce during our three-day stay and they cost €15 each way. We found the staff to be really helpful and friendly – especially Lino and Valentina (who gave us some good restaurant recommendations). We liked the fact that there was a phone-charging facility at the reception desk. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was fine – with a good choice available. The WiFi was just ok – we had to keep re-entering the password a couple of times a day which was a bit annoying.

The Hilton Garden Inn was our first stop on an organised tour and a very good introduction to hotel life in Puglia. We had a sizeable, clean and comfortable room (315) which, although less extravagant, reminded me of the decor we had at the Mirage in Las Vegas a few years ago. I couldn't get the safe to work but it wasn't an issue as we were only there for two nights and it may just have needed a new battery. The hotel is about 20 to 25 minutes walk into the centre of the city if you do it at strolling pace but is in a quiet location so no concerns about external noise. There were lots of options for the serve yourself breakfast and the evening meal we had there was very good. I'm not a regular fish eater but really enjoyed baked sea bass with sauteed spinach and potato and the servers were very efficient and friendly. There is a fabulous rooftop pool which gives excellent views over the city rooftops and surrounding area.

We had an amazing stay here ! First we were upgraded to a much better room. The room was beautiful and modern, with all amenities. The breakfast is good, you can have many different things and the waitresses will bring you things as well (fruit salad, cheese, etc) as per request. There is a spa, my husband had a very good massage.
The parking is free and yes it is a 20 min walk (which personally we enjoyed) and if you really dont want to walk, you have e-scooters to rent just outside the door! We loved that and used them a few times. What a great idea 💡
The swimming pool is beautiful! A bit cold but well. Everything is at disposal for you to relax
Cherry on the cake: we were allowed a free late check out. Sincerely we had an amazing stay at this hotel and will definitely come back !

Stayed 4 nights here . Hotel perfectly clean and comfortable BUT service is amateur, spasmodic and, frankly, not enough staff. They appear to have no autonomy to deal with any problems that may arise especially in the evening. Day 3 was met with the response 'write to the manager' - we had asked to order some food after 30 mins wait at our table!
TVs on loud in bar- there are 3 of them in a small place.
Was told we could sit in library area and drinks would be brought - prosecco arrived and put out of reach unopened . On request bar man came back to open bottle but did not pour and left again out of reach Spacious balconies but no furniture on them. The windows in my room were impossible to open enough to even move a chair outside. Staff in the main more than pleasant but they can't run a hotel alone! Massage fab. Driver for tour lovely.

This hotel is almost faultless bar a few minor things.
Firstly the location. Fast-paced and know the directions? 20 mins. Slow-paced without knowing your way, and it could be half an hour. If you don't like walking and you are not confident with directions then find something closer. I like walking and didn't mind though if you end up on the other side of the old town you better know how to get back to the hotel because it's not an easy walk and you could easily get lost. The hotel is located in the residential area.
Secondly, they gave me two single beds and I cannot sleep on single beds. I do not know why they wouldn't give me a double bed when there were plenty of rooms available. I didn't like this and pushed the two single beds together. Hotels never give me two singles. I think it's happened twice out of 14 years of solo travelling.
Thirdly housekeeping need to do something about attention to detail. I found the last guest's rubbish inside the rubbish bin in the toilet which was a little gross. The towel hanger is broken as well as the shower grip that holds the shower head. They are pretty obvious defects for anyone cleaning and it should be fixed.
Otherwise it truly is a genuine four star hotel. The great aspects:
The rooms are large and quiet. Very clean hotel. Finally I found a hotel in the south of Italy that is not like a furnace and I feel good sleeping at night and returning to the hotel!
The service is five star. From the people at the front desk (no matter who is there), to the bellboys, the young man who came to my room to give me towels in record time each night, through to the servers at the restaurant and the gentleman who brought my dinner up to my room on an impressive trolley table. Their five star customer service absolutely stands out and is their top strength.
There are supermarkets and cafes near the hotel, but nothing fancy. McDonald's is a 15 minute walk for those who are desperate.
The food at their restaurant was delicious. Overall a very comfortable stay!

Solid 4* hotel with free parking,
All staff very friendly and helpful,
Very clean spacious rooms with good A/C, huge comfy bed, great shower with large bottles of Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries provided, towels plentiful.
Tea and coffee in room and easy to use safe.
Maybe just a little modernisation/ update on the colour scheme in the room is needed.
Breakfast is good with a varied selection, great barista coffee,
You can also take your breakfast outside on the decked area.
Excellent rooftop pool and one of the reasons we chose this hotel,
Not many hotels this close to the old town have pools this size or at this price point,
After a day exploring in 38*heat the pool is much needed, only thing lacking is a rooftop bar, you have to go back down to the ground floor bar to bring drinks up, minor issue tho.
Location is about a 15min walk into the start of the old town in a very nondescript residential area opposite a park but just a 5min walk to a good bakery/sandwich shop also a big ice cream shop, both were very busy in the evening,
We enjoyed our 2 night stay, and would definitely stay again if visiting Lecce,

Very disappointing stay for two nights in June. Stayed as part of a Riviera tour of Puglia. Our room was fine but sadly the food and service were very poor . On the first night I ordered an Aperol Spritz which was served in a cheap plastic glass usually seen at a children’s party . I was told there were no clean glasses - consequently I refused the drink . I don’t expect to pay hotel bar prices to be served in a disposable plastic cup . Dinner was also poor . I had preordered the vegetarian option ( I’m not vegetarian) but I had read not very positive reviews of the other options . After waiting until most of my fellow diners had finished their meal I was finally ‘thrown’ a bowl of green salad leaves . When I queried where the zucchini was I was told it was finished . Our tour manager intervened and I finally got my vegetarian option . Service and attitude pretty poor . Breakfast was adequate can’t really say more than that . Disappointing that despite numerous poor reviews Riviera are still using this hotel .

I stayed from 16 to 19 August in this fantastic hotel with breakfast included. Spacious rooms, very aesthetically beautiful with everything necessary available, every morning change of towels and sheets and general cleaning of the room by the cleaning ladies staff to whom a big compliment goes for the accuracy in everything. Reception staff impeccable in terms of professionalism, always available 24 hours a day for the customer for anything or any doubts or requests. Rich and satisfying buffet breakfast starting from sweet to savory, complete in everything. Very beautiful hotel aesthetically both internally and externally, everything to perfection,
Definitely coming back, highly recommended!

I stayed here while working in Lecce for a week and had a great experience. My room was very large and comfy. Unlike many other hotels I've stayed at, the blackout curtains did work very well!
One of the strengths of this hotel is their staff and service: from reception to breakfast room, everyone is friendly, helpful and they all speak good English. Breakfast was great - good variety of food and drinks. I visited when Covid restrictions were still in place, but I can't wait to see how things are back to normal when I'm back in a few weeks.
To those complaining the hotel is far from the city centre: it's barely a 15/20 min walk and the hotel is in a residential area, which is generally very quiet especially at night.
Very positive experience overall and I'd recommend this hotel when visiting Lecce.

Stayed for two nights as part of a Riveira Tour to Puglia. Quiet location on outskirts of town, about a 20 minute walk to the old town. Hotel generally fine - comfortable king size bed, tea/coffee in the room, reasonable size with a small terrace but couldn’t find any TV channels speaking English, and hand held shower into the bath wasn’t the best (an attachment to the wall would have been much better). Toiletries all in large containers, rather than small individual bottles, which seems the trend in Italy. Breakfast perfectly ok, but hot dishes were not that ‘hot’ after a short period of time, and limited choice of items like bread (no rolls or baguettes), and fruit (no apples, bananas, oranges, etc), although coffees made to order was a big plus. Comfortable bar area and waiting area.
