The owners are very welcoming and available to provide any useful information. The apartment we stayed in was very clean and nice and is in a great location to visit the city. Super breakfast, we really enjoyed the delicious cakes prepared by Veronica, the owner.
Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

The structure is comfortable and welcoming, very close to Palazzo Schifanoia and a short distance from the Estense Castle. Breakfast is great and with plenty of variety. The welcome, kindness and helpfulness of the lady who runs the B & B is truly exceptional. Always ready to meet our every need and to provide explanations and detailed information for our movements.

Chose the Delizia because of the reviews, and because all the rooms have a separate lounge/diner/kitchen that converts into a second bedroom, making it even better value!
It is in a very good location - don't miss the church of Santa Maria in Vado directly opposite (breathtaking inside) or the Salon of the Months at the Schifanoia palace just down the road (there is a lovely cafe in the garden there).
The rooms were spotless and breakfast was very good, with as much as you wanted. It helps if you have a sweet tooth (apricot croissants, jams etc.). My companion would have liked a little cheese or something savoury.
Plenty of lovely restaurants between the hotel and the town (Il Mandolino was our favourite), and would thoroughly recommend the market in central Ferrara, from where we brought back hams, pesto, cheeses, cherries etc for a lunchtime snack in our apartment.
Do use the aircon at night - we kept our windows open and got 'mosquitoed' on our final night.
Staff were friendly and helpful - free bicycles to pedal around very flat Ferrara, and a travel plug located when we needed one for a phone charger.
I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in the town.

We were impressed with the looks of our room. What a great modernization of an old building. The location is perfect. If you arrive by car, there is free parking a block away. Several sites are just next door and the historic center is a 10 minute walk. Or you can take one of the bicycles available to guests. Using bikes, we were able to see many sites and to ride on the top of the old walls. Bicycling was also safe here, not many cars.
Ferrara is inexpensive compared to other cities. Our host suggested 3 restaurants and all were terrific. Thanks to him we were really spoiled, both with the food and the comfort of his rooms.
We highly recommend Delizia Estense.

We stayed in room 8 at the Delizia Estense in July 2010, room 8 is a bit of a converted attic room I guess. Though it can't have been much more than 40 square feet (if that!) The room comfortably slept myself & my partner in the bedroom, as well as my sister on the sofa bed next door. The apartment uses space extremely well and never feels cramped, with sliding doors on the bathroom/ensuite and cupboards built in wherever possible offering lots of storage.
In addition to this there are cooking facilities, including a fridge freezer, microwave oven and double hob as well as cutlery, saucepans etc. Breakfast was provided from 8 to 10 and consisted of pastries, cake and hot drinks/juice. All very tasty!
Despite the weekend being 38 degrees, (30+ at night) the room remained cool thanks to the aircon. We had a lovely time in Ferrara, which is a beautiful city of cobble streets lined with bars, restaurants and some stunning architecture. All within a 10 min walk of Delizia Estense. The service at the hotel itself was friendly and informative, and whilst we didn't make use of the free bike service, it's a great idea as Ferrara's quiet roads lend themselves to exploration.
I'd highly recommend the hotel, and expect to return in the future!

I stayed here for three nights. The place is perfectly located for me (10 min walk to city center and Uni of Ferrara), the studio I rented had all I wanted (clean and comfort bed, good bathroom, spacious living space and a small kitchen (though I didn't use the kitchen as I was in a short stay and wanted to try local food). Breakfast was enough, wifi worked perfectly, they had bicycles which I used both days to get around, owners speaks good English and are helpful. Will plan to stay there again and recommend others.

Great value for a studio apartment - good compromise between a hotel and self catering. Breakfast is provided 8 am - 10 am and no restrictions on using the place during the day as you may find in a B&B. Bikes are free and for popping into town (day or evening) or cycling the excellent route on or alongside the city walls. City is a real find and not on the usual sightseeing tours but has wonderful back streets to wander around and plenty of restaurants. You can take the bikes on longer rides but would benefit from more comfortable bikes for anything over an hour's cycling. Easy walk into the centre and very much enjoyed our 3 day holiday.
