Apartment really nice, warm and quiet. Comfortable bed, bathroom and kitchen equipped with every comfort. Upon our arrival we found the table ready with a delicious, which is to say the least, tender cake, along with many other things for breakfast: milk, jam, cereals, biscuits, juices, fresh fruit... in short, extraordinary. The real strength is the owner, a lovely person, kind, polite, enthusiastic about his work as a host. What about it? I recommend it to everyone!

Highly recommended B&B.
First of all for the kindness of the owners, who even before meeting us made us feel welcomed; for availability (they even kept the parking space for us in front of the B&B waiting for our arrival!!!); they lent us bikes for free to get around the wonderful city... and more!
and I haven't yet mentioned the beauty and tranquility of the place, the cleanliness and care of the rooms. Super and complete breakfast for all tastes; also the typical local cake with recipe included!!!
If we returned to Ferrara, I would have no doubts: I would return to Piazza Nova.
I thank the owners again. They helped make our trip wonderful!

The house is truly very beautiful and the decoration is stylish and elegant.
The owners paid attention to every single detail.
We even found a chocolate cake in the fridge made by the wife of the owner.
For one night I felt like a king.
But what I found very remarkable and extremely friendly, is that the owner was waiting for us outside of the house, he helped us with the luggages and made us feel very welcome.
Checkout was the same, he waved us goodbye, just like we were visiting old friends.
I can’t wait to go back again.

After the crazy "touristiness" of Florence and Venice, Ferrara was wonderful! We took a taxi from the train station and were welcomed by Emanuala, who owns the Guest House with her husband. She was an excellent hostess! The part we loved most (besides the super tidy apartment, comfy beds, and delicious breakfast of traditional fare and homemade cakes) was the fact that she had bikes we could use! After going over the map with us, we tooled all over town and up and along the ancient city walls. A total treat!

We had a very pleasant stay at Piazza Nova. Best of all the good things to say about Piazza Nova is the warm and enthusiastic hospitality of Ruggero and Emanuela. Ruggero met us at the train station and pointed out sights in the city as we drove along. Emanuela we found to be as charming and friendly as Ruggero. This is one of the reasons we enjoy the bed and breakfast experience: having a personalized travel experience with a host who really cares about the guests. Every morning we would chat a bit with either Ruggero or Emanuela as they prepared cappucinos, and would learn something of Ferrara and Italy from their point of view. Our rooms (we stayed in two over the course of four days) were very very clean, the beds comfortable and the rooms we stayed in were shielded from traffic noise, so we always had a good nights sleep. As mentioned in other reviews, Ruggero's father bakes fresh cakes every day and this adds a special touch to breakfast. Ferrara is a beautiful and vital city, untouched by mass tourism. We enjoyed several restaurants within reasonable walking distance from Piazza Nova (20 minutes more or less). Our favorites were Noemi's; La Cuca (spelling?) and Cucina e Butega.

My husband and I have stayed at Piazza Nova three times during the past two years. The delightful young couple, Ruggero and Emanuela, spared no effort in making our stays there wonderful experiences.
They collect us from the station, they supply general information and tickets to the main art exhibitions in their city, and we use their rented bikes.
We have found the rooms spacious and comfortable and, in the selfcatering units, there is every convenience, including dish- and clothes washers.
We specially enjoyed each morning the wide selection of delicacies, including exellent homemade 'dolce' and first class cappucinos in the cheerful breakfast room with its spotless table linen.
All in all, each stay has been a pleasantly memorable experience and we think it is excellent value.

Wife and I have stayed at the Piazza Nova Guest House on a number of occasion. The first time was in 2012 for a three month sabbatical at the university which is an easy walk from the PN. We have been back at least three or four times since just to visit friends and colleagues and every time we stay in the PN. The rooms are nicely appointed and are fully functional for an extended stay featuring full kitchens and a washing machine. The proprietors, Rugerro and Emanuela are a delightful couple who make you feel welcomed and they do everything they can to make your stay a delightful and memorable experience. The fresh pasta shop directly across the street run by Veronica is off-scale great and the Le Fate pizza shop run by the "Fairies" provide wonderful "take-out" for bringing back to your room when you don't feel like cooking. If you do feel like cooking, just a couple of doors down is a family run friendly market that stocks everything you need to cook up a feast. Also, the PN offers free of charge a few bicycles for guests to use and essentially all of Ferrara is easily accessible within a few minutes by bike. Also, if you like to walk (or run) along the famous walls of Ferrara, the PN is located within a stones throw of a great access point. All things considered, this is a fabulous, safe, secure and high-value place to use as a home-base while experiencing Ferrara. Highly recommended. PS: We have not travelled to Ferrara since the pandemic started in March 2020. The menu options below did not allow me to select any dates before March 2020. The last time we visited PN was September 2019 for a three week stay.

My husband and I stayed for a week in Suite no. 2. This is a small inn with 6 apartments located within the old walls of Ferrara. It is a cross between a B&B and self catering. Breakfast is offered for a small extra fee if you want it and the owners are always available. The owners and service in general is amazing. It is run by a husband and wife (who speak perfect English) with assistance provided by the husband's parents. They live in a house behind the Inn through a courtyard and are all wonderful. The Inn is lovely and as others have stated the photos on the Web don't show how stylish and well appointed the rooms are. The kitchen is outfitted perfect to make simple meals which we did. There is a small supermarket just steps away and a shop that sells fresh pasta across the street. The Inn is located within the old city walls but about a 20 minute walk to the city center. Parking is available on the street and free! The street in front leads right out of the walls connecting to the main roads making it very easy to drive around. Ferrara is a wonderful base to explore the region. We took the train to both Venice and Bologna and drove to Modena, Revena, and the coast for day trips. The train station is a bit of a distance away so we drove and parked at the station... Again for free. Ferrara itself is lovely and very enjoyable to stroll around in. The Inn is located very close to an access to the path on the city wall which we really enjoyed taking walks on.
We really enjoyed this Inn and highly recommend it .
