Hotel Cefalu Sea Palace is frequently celebrated for its spacious and impeccably clean rooms, some of which boast scenic views. Guests have called out the hotel's seafront position and rooftop dining for special praise, alongside its vibrant atmosphere, enhanced by live DJ events. While the attentive service is a highlight for many, some visitors have expressed concerns over the additional costs for drinks and services. Despite the impressive location with direct beach access, travelers caution against the restrictions on outside food and drink.

My husband and I stayed for the second time at this Hotel in September half board. The Hotel is spotless and has a fantastic roof terrace with amazing views, and one evening we enjoyed a Sicilian buffet, which was delicious. It was ashame that we couldn't have eaten there more often. As previous reviews have said, wedding parties use the roof top for their receptions . There is adequate food for breakfast, which is tasty, but the evening meal which consists of a number of dishes is delicious and is always served piping hot and very well presented. The staff are very friendly and professional. The location of this Hotel is excellent, with a backdrop of the Madonnie mountains, and you are just across the road from the sea/beach.you do have to go down steps to the beach immediately in front of the Hotel, where lifeguards are on patrol. The beach cafe linked to the Hotel serves up very nice food. Cefalu has a really nice beach, and is a great place to stay for everyone. It is very picturesque, and only about a ten/fifteen minute walk to the old part of town, which is very quaint with lots of inviting restaurants, shops and a cathedral that sits in a square where there are open eateries, where we had one of the best lasagnes we have tasted and at a reasonable price. If we had to be critical about the Hotel,it would be that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but would recommend The Sea Palace.

I would recommend the Sea Palace Cefalù based on the private beach alone - we spent an entire day chilling out by the shore with no additional charges for the use of sun lounges and umbrellas. The section of coast is stunning, I’d recommend you pack swimming goggles or a snorkel.

In addition to the private beach the hotel has plenty of other great amenities including a large pool, wellness centre, poolside and beachside bars, a gym, friendly staff and sizeable, clean rooms - with excellent curtains to ensure a sleep-in when needed.

Cefalù itself was our favourite location in Sicily, and the Sea Palace is a very short walk to all the restaurants, bars and old town.

Visited this hotel in May having booked a holiday package through Jet2.

Due to flight times we arrived in the early hours of the morning and after a 2.5hr transfer we had to check in via the night porter which after what felt like a long journey was painless and we were quickly shown to our room.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The balcony overlooked the side of the hotel and got very hot in the afternoon.

We booked half board and ate breakfasts in the restaurant on the rooftop. Dinner was usually served in this restaurant. However on a couple of nights there was an event on at the hotel so we ate in the restaurant by the pool.

We did not experience any late night noise issues experienced in other reviews maybe because this was early in the season.

The hotel is in a great location overlooking the beach. The old town of Cefalu is a 10 minute walk away which was perfect for us. There was some filming taking place on the beach during the first few days of our stay which caused some congestion on the road outside the hotel which was a bit of a pain when you were trying to get back in and passed security.

We spent some time round the hotel pool which was pretty quiet and easy to get a sunbed. The hotel also had its own area on the beach which we didn’t use as it appeared to be blocked off due to the filming.

Being coeliac I have to follow a strict gluten free diet. This was never an issue the head waiter at dinner was fully aware. He would ensure dishes were adapted or the chef made me something different to avoid any contamination. The food was delicious. Thank you for looking after me!

Breakfast is made up of a continental buffet. However eggs and bacon were cooked to order. There were plenty of choice of fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries and cakes. Gluten free cakes and bread were available at breakfast time but please note you will have to ask for them. By about the 3rd morning the lady recognised me and would always make sure something was available. My only gripe was that the coffee was served via a coffee machine which was ok but not of a high standard I would have expected from this kind of hotel.

Overall a lovely hotel, good food and friendly staff in a great location.

After spending two nights at a less than stellar hotel in Mondello we decided to take a trip down the coast to Cefalù. We came across Sea View Palace Hotel and booked it immediately, it had all the amenities you need and is an amazingly gorgeous hotel.

We were lucky enough to be able to check in early, we got a massive room on the main floor with the biggest balcony I have ever had with a hotel over looking the pool on one side and then straight ahead you had old town and the sea.

There is a private beach area designated for the hotel, plus it’s sister hotel just down the road. They also provide free beach towels as long as you return them! Only downside was that part of the beach was a wee bit rocky so you couldn’t just walk in but they had a walkway of sandbags to make it easier to get into the water.

The breakfast was great and exactly what we needed to get us ready for a day of exploring. The hotel was in a perfect location, a short walk to the old-town along the water.

The hotel was very high tech and updated so you can tell they take pride in what they give to their customers. The staff were also extremely friendly, special shootout to (I think) the night manager who got talking to my other half about UFC.

Only downside to the hotel was the price shot up around the weekend, otherwise we were going to ditch our place in Palermo and stay in a Cefalù the rest of our trip. We ended up coming back to Cefalù by train from Palermo for a day and it was 10x busier than during the week so the price hike is understandable but you can’t hold that against them!

We will definitely be back!

Firstly, I would say some improvements have been made since our last visit in 2019. The reception staff were helpful and polite and the bar manager in the pool bar was amazing. Some positives - Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. The rooms and hotel were spotless and the rooms large with plenty of space. The hotel was in a great position with only a flat 5 min walk into Cefaul town and the private beach directly across the road. Some negatives - Friday and Saturday the Hotel opened its gardens to the public and had an outdoor night club experience (not for hotel guests) meaning we didnt get to sleep until 4am on both nights! The biggest failure for the hotel is the fact we couldnt get a late checkout (hotel was fully booked which I completely accept) however, no hospitatality rooms were available to guests and the only option to shower and change prior to our departure was to pay 30 euros per person to go the wellness suite where we could take a shower. We had to be out of our room at 10am and our pick up was 8pm which wasnt great. It appears the hotel are putting profit before the guest experience which I wouldnt expect for the calibre of hotel. A massive shout out to the lifeguards on the private beach who were so helpful to all guests. Be prepared for a long coach journey which was the equivalent to a white knuckle ride at the fun fair - approx 3 hours!

Just come back after a few days break with my friend to get the last of the sun.

We did book the 4* Victoria Palace which was next door but one, it's 6 years younger but had more of a, modern feel. We were annoyed that they'd merged us into the Sea Palace without notice. The pool area beach area of the 5* sea Palace is slightly better, but there's no much in it.

We liked the breakfast, felt sorry for the 1 lady who had to serve everything to everyone from the buffet as we couldn't help ourselves due to COVID rules.

Rooms were imacculate (although I really do not like bed spreads) duvets are do much better!

1 pillow each is a bit stingy though and no uk tv, could be my only complaint if I was being picky.

We lurrrrved the beach area,
the sun loungers with the built in face shades we really appreciated.
The sea was warm despite it being October.

Cefalu is beautiful. Lots, still open despite Covid. The gourmet supermarket behind the hotel was a great find too.

We drove from the airport, had free parking at the hotel and had a quick pitstop in Mondello for lunch and but more sun before catching the Plane Home.

Palermo Airport was great and getting through security at Manchester was a breeze with the new face and digital scanner terminals.

We do hope to come back soon. It really was, our fav late holiday spot.

AVOID!.......booked this hotel based on the very good reviews here and elsewhere, but the experience was very different. Firstly, the staff were unfriendly, the rooms smelt terrible of drains, the WiFi does not work, the food is awful. As you can see from the photo, they don’t let you bring your own food or drink, even water, into your hotel room. When we complained about the smell, the receptionist told us this was a product they used— this was clearly a lie. A big problem is that the room walls are paper thin— you can hear other people in their rooms just quietly talking and their TV. The very worst thing was that one night there was a wedding reception happening below us playing very load music until past 1am— the same receptionist told me at 11:30 that the music would definitely stop by 12:15. So the second lie from him. It was impossible the sleep— the most basic thing you want from a hotel. Overall this hotel really isn’t worth booking— there are plenty of great hotels in Cefalu that are much more deserving of your money.

Arrived home yesterday from this hotel, it is situated on the sea front. When we arrived we were greeted at the door and our luggage was carried up the marble steps to the reception area, check in was smooth and quick. Our room was 303, we had upgraded to a side seaview room and the view was nice, the balcony was of a good size and had wicker style chairs and table. The bedroom had plenty of wardrobe space with a safe, the bathroom was of a good size and a nice shower with marble sink area. We were half board basis. The breakfasts are really good, you can have fresh bacon and eggs cooked fresh for you, there are about six different flavored crosaints each day, a table full of different cakes and biscuits each day, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, a coffee machine and they also serve fresh cappuccino at the counter to order, the evening meals are four courses with different choices, both the breakfast and evening meals are served on the terrace that has lovely views of beach and old town. The drinks in the restaurant are a bit on the expensive side, we had a local rose bottle of wine which was 25 euros, but they will keep and bring it back out to you the next night, the drinks generally in the hotel are not as cheap as in the town. The pool area is nice and there was never the early morning scramble for sun beds. The hotel also has its own part of the beach were you can have complementary sunbeds and umbrella. You are supplied with just one beach towel and if you wish to change it for a clean one they will charge you 5 euros per towel per change. The hotel doesn't allow you to eat or drink food in your room or use the fridge for your own items either, however this would not stop me from staying here again though. All the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and would try their best to help, even to carrying my suitcase down the stairs to the minibus on our last day which they did without me even thinking or asking them to do. If I were to come back to Cefalu I would definitely stay here

We booked for a deluxe seaside view, upon arrival we were shuttled to the back of the hotel with the view of the parking lot and abit of ocean. We asked for a different room and we upgraded to the suite (be careful what you wish for) and for a COST. The room absolutely has the BEST view however there is a fan above the bathroom that sounds like an airplane taking off . The first night there was a wedding just below us and lasted till 2:30 in the morning and the fireworks at 1:00 am we were not thrilled with. From 9pm to 2am the movement of chairs above us was terrible!!

Positives - close to the beach and the staff are quite pleasant , breakfast is excellent
Negatives - wifi is very intermittent, rooms are very dated , I wouldn’t book anything on the 3rd floor as the roof top seating area and fans are right above the rooms.

There is a lot to say about the Sea Palace. Firstly the location is brilliant, straight across from the beach on the main drag into the "city" of Cefalu which is a 10 minute stroll away. Cefalu itself is not really a city, but a beautiful old town with lots of winding narrow streets.

Back to the hotel! It is spotlessly clean and the rooms are well appointed. The staff are friendly and helpful and our check in and check out was seamless.

The breakfast was good with a limited choice of cooked food and a wide selection of continental style breads, hams, and cheese etc. Weirdly they also had a stunning array of cakes if you like that sort of thing.

The view from the breakfast room/restaurant is amazing as it is on the top floor. So you get panoramic views of the beachfront.

There are however, some qualities in this hotel which can only be described as negative, even poor.

If like me you like to exercise on holiday and you choose a hotel deliberately because it advertises a gym, then you will be disappointed. The gym is rubbish. There is one exercise bike and one treadmill. The bike didn't work properly and the treadmill was on the brink of collapse. There are some dumbbells and a squat rack with an Olympic bar and that's about it. If you advertise a gym, have a gym!

The weirdest thing in this hotel strangely is the water situation. You are not allowed to bring in more than one large bottle of water to your room. If you do, the reception staff will confiscate it, and let you have it back virtually one bottle at a time. This is nuts! They obviously want you to buy water from them at €3 per small bottle. Having said that it wasn't that surprising as the bar prices are ridiculous at €8.50 per pint.

Having said all the above, we had a wonderful week in Cefalu, but to be honest just used the hotel as a base.

Response from cefaluseapalace hotel, Servizi per gli ospiti/front office at Hotel Cefalu Sea Palace
Responded 28 May 2024
Dear Mr.Peter E, Thank you for the kind words spent about our Hotel. As for the gym, it is a new concept that is now widespread throughout the world to which we have adapted with great pleasure and which many of our guests are happy with. We also regret having to ask to leave all kinds of food at the reception which are often purchased in large bags at the supermarket, not for an economic factor but for the damage caused to the furniture in the rooms. Thank you very much for your feedback. Best regards
