Just back from an 11 day stay at Le Calette N5 and we had a wonderful and very relaxing holiday.

The hotel setting is truly spectacular and we enjoyed the facilities of the extensive property, particularly the Reef Club, looked after extremely well by all the staff and especially Gaetano, Antonio, Deborah and Salvo.

We stayed in a double deluxe room, opening out directly onto the pool area with a beautiful view of the sea. The room, although smaller than expected, was very comfortable; lovely modern decor in boutique style, luxury Sicilian bathroom products and spotlessly clean. Not once did the housekeeping staff miss the turndown service and towels were replenished at least twice daily. Although clean, the towels could have been of better quality; this includes the beach towels.

We did have an unfortunate situation one day when one set of parents were taking their children to the toilet in the showers by the pool. We informed the management and they were very quick to sanitise the area thoroughly. Not the hotel’s fault or the children’s for that matter.

In an environment where safety is of primary importance, we did feel that the hotel had very effective COVID measures in place, however, the system currently in place for breakfast is not conducive to the hotel’s 5 stars. It would be much better to have an a la carte breakfast service from both safety and enjoyment perspectives.

The hotel arranged transfers for us between the hotel and Palermo Airport. Although we could not fault the quality of the drivers, the cars were all local Cefalu cabs. We would have been very happy to pay extra to have a luxury transfer and think that the hotel should look into offering this option.

Cefalu itself is a lovely town with excellent restaurants. Not much shopping but I did feel that we has a taste of the real Sicily. All our meals were super.

We would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel or recommending it to friends. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful holiday.

My wife and I stayed in Le Calette for five days , it is a truly remarkable Hotel warranting at least 5 stars
Staffed with remarkable and caring people whose primary aim is to ensure that visitors have a memorable and pleasant stay .
The facilities in the Hotel are first rate , good well attended swimming appealing to all ages , a splendid gym for those requiring a bit of exercise and we visited two first rate restaurants .
One, Cala Luna is situated closer to the main building and is worthy of a Michelin rating , the other, Calette Reef, offers more relaxed dinning by the waters edge
Drinks and light snacks are served pool side . All the food is of high quality , well prepared and served
The rooms a very clean and well appointed with a maid service morning and night , the air conditioning works well and keeps the rooms cool .
Now to the most notable asset, the staff. For the reception staff nothing is too much trouble from organising taxis , day trips advice on where to visit , help with hire cars etc .waiters , chefs , cleaning and general staff all were very helpful
All staff are welcoming and friendly , we felt that we were part of a family, I must though give a special thanks to Derik Patti , Head Concierge, before we arrived Derik helped me to organise paces to visit as well as reservations in nearby restaurants. This helped us get see a lot of places that we would not have even considered .
Derik and his team embody the ethos of the Hotel
Well done to all and as you can guess I can thoroughly recommend this Hotel , and we will return

We originally wanted to stay just 4 nights but decided to extend for 7 nights as we just loved it so much here.
The breakfast staff is extremely friendly and the buffet and a la carte breakfast offers everything you can just possibly just think of. Due to COVID 19 the staff had to serve each person at the breakfast buffet which they did very professionally.
Rooms were spacious and cleaned daily to perfection.
The reception staff speaks perfect english and is also highly professional. We even got a complimentary late check out as we had to leave at 5pm to Palermo to catch the ferry.
We also loved the pool area and beach where we rented kayaks and a SUP and went snorkeling in the crystal clear water. As we brought our mountain bikes with us from Austria we really enjoyed the back country tours with stunning views all starting from the front door of the hotel.
The gym and spa area is brand new and looks very stylish. Especially that you can see the pool above you when exercising in the gym.
Each night we loved walking to the Center of Cefalù and enjoyed the delicious Sicilian cuisine. It just takes 15 minutes you are back at the hotel which is good to digest the large amount of food. :-)

We will definitely come back and recommend this gem to our family and friends.

Stay safe and all the best until next time, Pia & Stephan.

Very average. Would not consider it to be a 5 star hotel.

We stayed in a deluxe pool view room, they are small and dark with no proper wardrobe and very little space. The toilet absolutely stunk of sewage, no water left by beds one single night out of our 4 night stay which I feel is poor for a 5 star hotel. Cheap towels and air con did not work and turned itself off every 10 minutes.

Breakfast is underwhelming, it’s a buffet with very little choice and a cooked egg service. It’s also poorly managed with long waits for cooked eggs and wrong orders being sent out. Waiters also seem impatient and flustered which isn’t exactly the relaxing morning you want.

Pool area is the one good thing about the hotel.

The reef club is very poorly executed, when we were there the decking had been removed due to weather or some sort of excuse , the restaurant was always covered in plastic sheets so seemed desolate and the reef bed area had all furniture and party equipment stacked up around it so you feel like you’re just in a dead end of the hotel.

The grounds are huge but poorly kept and you’re also amongst private properties which are also somewhat run down so it’s overall a little scruffy.

No shuttle to the town as advertised so you have the option of a 20 minute walk up a main road in a horrible area or a 10 euro taxi that takes 5 minutes at most.

I would never go back to this hotel, it’s pleasant but not good value at all. Feels more like a 3/4 star hotel to me compared to the amazing 5 stars I’ve stayed at around the world

Dear LouisaLam7, Thank you for taking the time to review our Hotel; your words are extremely formative for us. We apologize that our service did not satisfy your expectations. Please note that in both rooms you stayed the turndown service was regularly done and that twice a day (in the morning and in the evening) our Housekeeping staff left on the desk a bottle of water in the tray together with the glasses. Moreover, concerning the Reef Club, just before your stay there was a bad storm that destroyed our wooden platform. It was unexpected and we tried to do our best to let our guests enjoy the seaside anyway in the following days. We are sorry to hear that this situation of emergency has compromised your opinion of our Hotel and we hope to welcome you once again so that you may fully enjoy all our services. Best regards, Staff of Le Calette Hotel

I first saw Le Calette on a friend’s IG a few weeks ago and was wowed. We booked immediately for our anniversary in August.
I’d been told that the girls at reception were lovely.. they absolutely were! They remembered my friend and took us to the bar area for free refreshments while our room was being prepared.

We booked a garden room and were told that we’d been upgraded to The exclusive N. 5 rooms just off the pool area, which were absolutely beautiful with their own patio area full of lush Mediterranean plants.

We were greeted in our room with Prosecco c/o the hotel and a note wishing us a happy anniversary and my husband had ordered a bouquet to be placed in the room-the flowers were amazing and are still going strong after a week.

There are 3 areas on the grounds-all very distinctive.
There’s the pool area
The Reef Club area which has restaurant, loungers and beds
And another small rocky secluded area at the bottom of the hill which was probably my favorite.
The grounds are lush, the people are great, the food is amazing.. we didn’t want to leave but will definitely be back.

A Netflix show was being filmed while we were there so it’ll be interesting to see it.

The center of Cefalù is a little too far to walk so it’s best to get a cab.

This is a very comfortable high-end hotel, located about 25 minutes walk from the old part of Cefalu. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, but did have very good breakfasts there during our stay. Rooms were very comfortable and modern. If you are driving to the hotel, be aware that GPS will likely take you past the front entrance to the rear area of the hotel, which will force you to turn around on a one lane road, so keep an eye out for the entrance, which is controlled by an electric gate. The hotel has a beautiful pool and you can order drinks and food just inside the hotel adjacent to the pool. The walk to Cefalu is uphill for a significant part of the way - we were told that in the summer months (we visited in October) the hotel offers a shuttle into town. Taxi service is available in the off-season. Service was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

What a place! We stayed in Cefalu for two nights and loved le Calette. Professional service, very talkative personnel and an atmosphere that makes one feel like home. Prices are high, but completely justified. At breakfast they served one of my favourite teas. Generally, everything match the high expectations we had.

Big thank you to the two lovely barkeepers who shared various stories with us, provided us with a Vodka tasting and generally to all of the le Calette staff making our stay memorable. We will be back one day!

We eventually stayed here having booked Le Calette n5. We clearly remember specifying n5 and not the inferior garden and bay. On arriving they made a fuss of giving us a double upgrade and skipping round it wasn’t in n5 property but the garden and bay. The rooms were very old and run down and quite unacceptable. After endless complaining and negotiating they agreed to move us to the far better n5 property but for a supplement of €100 per room per night.
Cleverly the hotel’s confirmation made no mention of which property we had booked, neither showing garden and bay or n5. So my warning dear traveller is to be very very careful about nailing this detail when you book. I know we booked n5 but their line was it doesn’t say this anywhere on the email from the hotel. I also felt the reception staff were well practiced at dealing with this issue and strongly suspect they are using dubious business practice to extract more money from ( many) unhappy travellers. N5 is far superior to the rank accommodation of the garden and bay but whether you would want to endure the confrontation of getting what you expected and dealing with a management team of charlatans is not worth it in my opinion. Con men looking to rip you off when you are looking for a relaxing break!

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review of our Hotel. It’s extremely difficult for us to accept your suspicion concerning our business practice, as our main aim is to ensure the complete satisfaction of our guests. We have a wide range of rooms, suites and villas with different characteristics, locations and prices; for this reason our first effort is to communicate all the information (through our website, social media, and online and offline assistance) so that the choice of our guests is the right one for them. The typology, price and location of our rooms are clearly specified in all the sections of our website and in the description of our rooms. It is not possible to make a reservation of a specific room, choosing its name, without getting to know all its characteristics, and first of all, the part of the hotel in which the chosen room is located. Moreover, our staff is always available (24/7) to clarify your doubts, or to find a solution that suits you best. Although you were expecting to stay at Le Calette N°5, you have booked a Standard double room and a triple Club room, typologies of rooms that on our website are clearly under the section Le Calette Garden & Bay****. Upon your arrival we informed you that you had been upgraded to two Junior Suites of Le Calette Garden & Bay, but you have asked for an accommodation at Le Calette N°5, so we have offered you the possibility to stay in our five-star part with a highly discounted supplement. In any case, we will keep improving our information to avoid misunderstandings as the one that unfortunately happened to you. Kind regards, Gaia Miccichè Marketing Officer

We just had a family holiday for a week in the deluxe room by the pool.

The setting is beautiful, the sea is amazing and lots of fun using paddle boards and kayaks, and the pool is incredibly well designed.

Town is about a 25 minute walk or 11Euro taxi, and is a gorgeous town.

The food and drinks were all lovely, and the staff were great, as was the evening music by the pool.

If we were to recommend anything it would be a slightly extended menu by the pool (ie more antipasta options), and possibly a few cheaper options for the kids (it worked out very expensive to get a family of 4 ice creams - but that may just seem the case at the moment with a poor UK exchange rate).

A lovely stay - thank you!

Location is AMAZING!!
You can relax at the beach on one of their king size beds at reef club, enjoying the seaside even if weather is bad.
Rooms and all areas are very clean, and for me this is a must! So we were 100% satisfied.
I loved their breakfast, you can eat local food while enjoying the breathtaking view, and food is really high quality!
Service was excellent, especially for a guy, Daniele, who was really professional and helpful, especially with the card for the room and with the TV. He also was so nice transferring us from the hotel to the beach, suggesting us many things to do and places to see in this wonderful island, so helpful and always with a smile for everyone.
I'll surely come again! Best place in Sicily!!! ❤️
