We booked one night at Le Capanne during a Tuscan road trip holiday. We decided against staying directly in Arezzo with limited parking opportunities at most hotels and decided on Le Capanne for its out of town location. It was a little tricky to find but we got there more by following the signs than by the navigation system. It is a grand old house in the middle of fields. What made the overnight stay memorable was the dinner with sophisticated food and attentive service. Breakfast was also hale and hearty - no easy feat in these corona times.

I thought for a long time before writing an opinion, because access to this structure requires a minimum level of appreciation for life in the countryside. The building is a large eighteenth-century farmhouse originally intended for two families and structurally divided into two identical parts. What is striking and appreciated is that not a single brick has been touched unless strictly indispensable, and despite this it has been possible to create fifteen comfortable rooms with all the services required of a modern hotel. There's even an elevator disguised as a goods lift.
Some perfectly coherent buildings have been added to the original structure. The size of the common areas is impressive. A real plus is the well-furnished, welcoming internal restaurant, with a young and easy-going service. Excellent food, normal prices. We stayed for five days and tried almost everything and there were no drops in quality. The kitchen has a glass wall so you can see what's going on.
Regarding the rooms, the furnishings are basic but with everything you need, the kettle + herbal tea kit and other essences are appreciated.
It should be noted that the bed linen is replaced every day!
There are also two cats, one of which visited me in the room while I was working on the PC and kept me a lot of company.
Unaffected kindness is what you get from all the staff.
Adequate breakfast served in good weather in a delightful shaded corner.
Naturally, perfection does not exist, so I would like to offer some advice:
-It is good to keep the original frames (in the internal doors), but when they are really tired they should be replaced with others in style, perhaps maintaining the original hardware.
-A safety handle in the showers is essential
-The chair in the room should be made of wood with a straw seat. The present one is uncomfortable and out of context.
-The reading lights at the head of the bed have the switch so high up that you have to get down to turn them off.
-The stalls in the excellent covered car park are too narrow for today's cars so you have to park to the millimeter to be able to open the door.
Small things that don't detract from the overall pleasantness. Were we to return to Arezzo we would choose this hotel again without hesitation.

We had a great time, actually more!
Starting from the arrival in the typical warmth of a beautiful eighteenth-century Tuscan farmhouse, we found truly friendly staff, a spacious and above all very clean room.
Note also of merit to the restaurant present in the structure: not too many seats, as well as a refined menu but with the right choice (no excesses from tourist menus), excellent quality raw materials and dishes that we definitely liked. Here too, the wait staff is kind, present and never over the top.
Absolutely recommended experience.

I stayed with my dog, just arrived spent a lot of time just looking and reporting something under the cabinet in front of the bed, easy to access (maybe 40 cm from the floor). I didn't give much importance to it but in the morning he went on and took out a capsule of a supplement. I would have let it go thinking about an oversight that could happen if it hadn’t continued and when I bent down to check there was another capsule of a medicine and lots of cobwebs and more dirt. I talked about it to the girl at the reception who underestimated it a lot by saying that she would have told the cleaning girls by truncating the speech several times and talking to me about it, she seemed really annoyed by my report. For me it is unacceptable, not only the 'happening but the total rudeness and rudeness in dealing with the situation. I've never had a receptionist talk over me and interrupt what I was saying. I am very lucky because I have a malinois that is trained and reports food and poisons, but if it had been another dog would have swallowed as many as 2 tablets of medicines with related consequences. The area was easily accessible by brooms and vacuum cleaners, so I find that on the surface it is a clean place but in detail the staff is very approximate in cleaning. Overall I therefore find the figure of 100 euros per night for 1 person exaggerated, receiving such treatment. Overall really bad staff, even the girl at breakfast who seemed to happen there by accident and very unhappy. I think I ran into the owner the evening just arrived and he seemed instead a very welcoming and smiling person, probably if I had the chance to talk to him he would at least apologize, which did not happen.

Price for a quadruple room was exaggerated, considering that my daughters slept on an uncomfortable sofa bed, it says 3 stars but I paid for 4 stars which it is not, plus being in the open countryside, they made me pay a supplement of €15! !! For a puppy 🐶, €180 per night in low season. It's a shame because in addition to the beautiful location they have an excellent breakfast.

Booked shortly in advance, we immediately found Cristina available to facilitate the requests of 5 friends on motorbikes.
Both the rooms and the restaurant ensured that we had an evening to remember.....magnificent dinner.
Thanks for everything. I hope see you soon.

Wonderful stay here last week at this family run hotel - the family are all great engaging people and show a real passion to ensure that you enjoy your time here.
- I would also mention that the food in the restaurant is absolutely fantastic with excellent service and well worthy of a visit even if you are not staying at the hotel itself.
Thankyou Team Le Capanne ! 👏👏👏

Incredible location and unusual, quirky building. Homely, welcoming and very rustic. If you want prim and proper this is not the place for you. If you want an authentic experience then stay here! The staff were superb, friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. The food was as hoped and delicious. Minor blip of overcooked duck but could be forgiven when everything else was spot on and the way it was handled was as you would hope customer service to be.

I had a wonderful two-day experience in this welcoming and truly excellent hotel, the finely renovated and furnished farmhouse is very beautiful, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. All the staff both in the dining room and at the reception are professional, very friendly and pleasant. Together with my partner we had dinner both evenings in the Le Capanne restaurant, savoring delicious dishes, excellent in quality and presentation!!! We are truly satisfied, we will always remember the welcome with the kind smile of all of you who are present in this magnificent hotel, thank you very much, we will see you again soon!!!!

Wonderful place. Faithfully restored, it has retained the charm of the past by making the most of the spaces. Beautiful garden and wonderful pool and well maintained. There are also two beautiful alpacas, which my daughter fell in love with. Excellent quality restaurant at a fair price.
In short, everything is perfect but the absolute PLUS in this place is KINDNESS. here you feel at home, pampered so familiar that you feel sorry to leave at check out. My daughter Ludovica very much in love with all the waiters especially a sweet girl (hi Irene ! ).. but every member of staff here is superb. We only did one night but we regenerated as if it had been a month. Thank you very much we look forward to coming back! Ersilia Daniele and Ludo
