Detailed Reviews
The Minerva Hotel is located outside of the ancient city walls of Arezzo, but easy to reach and with free parking. The hotel is a quite ugly block building and has an old fashioned ambiance inside. Nevertheless the room and especially the bath room were spacious and saw some recent renovations. We were accommodated on a higher floor, which felt quite lofty and breakfast was up to common Italian standards as well. For a short stay it is a good option as it is also in walking distance to the historic town centre.
If you like to know more about the hotel and the area around see also traveltreasuresbymarion - otherwise the Minerva hotel is a good option for a shorter city stay, although it is rather a business than a leisure hotel.

Our Flight out of Florence was cancelled by BA at the last moment, so they billeted us here for two days. Thus our experience might not be typical. The hotel is large and modern but the twin room we had was, shall we say "compact" and the bathroom was only slightly bigger than a medium sized closet but it had a toilet, basin, bidet (why? it’s not the 1980s) and a very small footprint shower with doors that closed at an angle and burst open if you turned or bent down. No shelf to put the shower gel or shampoo on in the shower and outside very little space to hang towels or anything. Other than that the room was okay. Because of the flight cancellation BA was paying for our food, so we were given lunch and dinner tickets. This entitled us to a daily set menu of one of each of 3 choices of starters, 3 choices of mains and 3 choices of side dishes plus a bottle of water; other drinks including coffee were extra as were deserts. This would have been fine if it was a different menu for lunch and dinner but it was not, so by dinner your choice was not of 3 but of 2 and if one of those choices was something you have an allergy to, as was in my case, no choice at all unless you order from the full menu and pay yourself. Surely there is a better way for the hotel and BA to feed us than this ritual humiliation of tickets and a cut down menu. The menu offered no English translation of the courses or any allergy data, although the full menu did, a very bad and potentially dangerous omission.. Having said all that, the actual quality of the food was top notch and some of the best we had whilst in Italy and the hotel staff to a person were friendly and happy to help with anything, making our enforced stay as easy and pleasant as possible. The hotel is situated om a main road but you can walk to the medieval part of the town, although it is uphill to the main site, the church. Luckily the hotel has a bar that is open almost 24hrs to while away the time should you not feel the urge to go visit the town .I have given the hotel 3 stars but id like really give it 3.5 stars because they were doing the best they could under the restraints of our situation and if they could sort out the restricted menus and the tiny bathrooms its worth 4 stars

This hotel is an excellent base for a visit to Arezzo. We have stayed in the centro storico on a previous visit where prices are much higher, car access can be difficult, and parking charges are expensive.
A taxi from Minerva Hotel to the Centro Storico cost about 12 euros but this is much more than compensated for by the more economic prices and by plentiful free parking.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Breakfast was very good.
We did have lunch on arrival at the hotel. I would recommend eating elsewhere but the hotel is excellent.

Minerva Hotel provides you with a good accessibility, its own parking area and 15 mins walk to the Arezzo historical centre. The rooms are comfy and price reasonable. Make sure you don’t get one heading to the McDonalds area with its noisy air condition. Bathrooms in smaller rooms might be very tiny. The breakfast is very good and the staff very helpfull.

We chose this hotel for several reasons, one of which was the private parking available off of the main street. Second was the highly recommended restaurant so that arriving tired and late on a cold winter night we wouldn't have to go hunting for somewhere to eat well. Unfortunately we discovered that the restaurant was closed after New Year's Eve banquet. The hotel itself was quiet and well appointed, the reception staff courteous.

Large, impersonal Business hotel, close to old city centre. Good service, clean, modern rooms and bathrooms. To be recommended - large parking area behind hotel, walking distance of city. . Breakfast unexciting - multiple choices in the cake and croissant department, no hot food. Choose a room at the back of the building if you don’t like traffic noise.

No idea how anyone can like this hotel, it cannot be considered a 4*
You will be welcomed in the lobby by furniture and an overall style dating back to the 1980s,
I requested a quiet room, and was given 412, almost at end of the corridor. But unfortunately, all the rooms are totally lacking of any sound insulation.
I could hear the person next door talking on the phone behind the wall like he was in my room, the next morning the alarm clock of another room woke me up, and in the evening I would hear the room above walking or taking a shower. Absolute nightmare!
There was a disgusting and partly torn couch in my room, the view is on the industrial zone and the parking, definitely not romantic, the bathroom is crying for a refurbishment, and the room was overall bare bone, with a closet and a desk.
Yes it was clean, but honestly, at that price I expect not to be able to hear EVERY noise in the building ? I wanted to run away from this place as soon as I settled in the room.
The breakfast is OK, the juices are artifical, the food choice ok.
The restaurant on site is pretty good, but price wise a bit on the high side for the town.
Everyone is friendly from reception to restaurant, but the rooms are really at the 70s standard.
Better avoid this hotel, it had little to no value, even for business, I cannot suggest it

The fact that it's a "Full-service hotel " is important because there's nothing else in the neighborhood. The restaurant is excellent and my meals were world-class, but during a three days stay, unfortunately there are no simple light options for when you don't want a huge meal. Rooms immaculately clean and wonderful sheets!

Very clean hotel. Polite staff that welcomed us late at night. Good air- conditioning. Big bathroom. Right outside there is a bus stop
-
About 25’ walk to the city of arezzo. It needs some renovation in the rooms.
