Detailed Reviews
My husband and I were visiting Alba for its Truffle Festival and Market last weekend. Maybe due to this, the price of hotels in Alba was very high although we started looking quite a while ago. We didn't want to spend a fortune on accommodation, and as we were travelling by car, we didn't mind staying outside of Alba.
The hotel is only 10 mins away by car from the centre of Alba. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and despite the fact that it's located next to the main road, we heard no noise from the street. There's an underground parking which is well-protected, so you feel double safe. The hotel was run by a family, who were super friendly and most helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who travels to Alba.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night for a wedding in this area. It's not in the center of Alba, but the hotel is quite good and clean. Room is quite large and bathroom is pretty good. The also have a closed underground garage which is a great plus. Check-in and check-out were quick and uncomplicated Overall great value for money.

We stayed here for one night while passing through northern Italy. The hotel has a nice parking garage in the basement and elevator straight up to the roomcorridor or the reception.
The whole hotel is new and looks really nice. Air-condition. Big bathroom, comfortable bed, huge shower. We were overall really happy with it. The two drawbacks had to be the location (it is not in walking distance to anything expect the wonderful Osteria de Aurora) and the breakfast buffet. This is served in the bar on the corner of the hotel, you get a voucher in the reception, and the bar is a bit crowded of loud italians drinking their espresso and the food really wasn't that great. Not even though it was included in the price. Anyway, next time I'm in Alba I will probably have a car so the location will not be a problem. So I would stay here again! Value for money? Absolutely.

Not knowing much about Alba and wanting to attend the White Truffle Festival, we booked this hotel based on the photos and a couple of reviews. Having spent my career in the hotel and restaurant business and being a long time hospitality professional, I have always read these reviews with a large dose of cynicism. In fact, when I have had a negative experience I NEVER, post a review. Instead I write to the management team which has ALWAYS resulted in a pleasant response and a resolution of the issue. So, of course this is a positive review. We had driven almost 7 hours from Treviso and had about had it. Tired and frustrated with the GPS that had sent us to a dirt road, we were thrilled to see the Medea signage. The parking was conveniently adjacent to the hotel with an underground parking lot as well as a street level lot. Spotlessly clean I must add. We entered the lobby and were greeted by an incredibly friendly young man who could have been an owner. The lobby was sparklingly clean and the desk had many guidebooks and pamphlets. We were checked in, given accurate directions to Alba and informed of the small Bar next door. Given our key, directed to the elevator and instructed on using the key card to operate the lights we opened the room door and both exclaimed WOW. Quite frankly we were not expecting as spacious a room with a great club chair and the most comfortable bed. A spotlessly clean bathroom with a great shower with atypically good water pressure for Italy. A beautiful view of the farm next door and the lounging area adjacent to the entrance with a lovely outdoor wicker furniture set. Nice amenities, a small mini bar and great lighting. We drove to the restaurant we had reserved using the 100% accurate directions from the front desk person. It is a short and easy drive to Alba with plenty of parking in the Historic Center. That night we slept like babies and woke to a beautifully sunny morning. We went down for breakfast which had been described at check in. A lovely assortment of pastries, a fresh baked torte and a GREAT coffee machine which dispensed Espresso, Cappucino etc. Some salami, cheese, fresh fruit and juices. No bacon and eggs but if that is what you are expecting than you are in the wrong country. We had spent almost a month in Italy and stayed at an increÃble Spa on Lake Garda, an AirBnB in Treviso and had dined at local places as well as a Michelin starred restaurant. We attended festivals, visited wineries and ended our trip with the International White Truffle Festival. As we reflected on our stay we both remarked that the Hotel Medea was the most incredible ending to an amazing trip. We usually return to Italy twice a year for a month and we will definitely add Alba, Hotel Medea and the Festival to our subsequent visits. And I must add, the housekeeper made up our room as well if not better than any Ritz Carlton. Everything spotless, all of our luggage neatly arranged in a corner, towels folded and restocked. The bar next door was closing when we arrived yet they cheerfully poured two Spritzes and offered us a complimentary plate of fresh fruit salad and other goodies!

It is truffle season, and the "full up" signs dot Alba everywhere - but I was desperate to go, and at the last minute nabbed two nights here. It's a little out of town, but the manager Cristina had already sorted me out with a bicycle, restaurant tips, directions - and her son kindly transferred me from nearby station. It was like staying with family - simply the best kind of Italian hospitality. Bravissimo Cristina and family!

Staff very friendly. They gave us some hints where to have dinner. Nice hotel easy to find. Cozy room. Bed little bit hard. They offer a simple breakfast which is ok. Its not close to the city. Overall we have a good time.

As per the title. Cost €113 for night in the middle of October, in truffle season. However absolutely no hot water on the top floor ()room 307 and 305) on a sunday at 09.30 am.Staff said they would investigate. Breakfast included in the cafe next door and was fresh and generous.Yes i would stay again as its a very pretty area, room was large and bright with view overlooking fields planted with neat rows of home grown vegtable.Free secure underground car park, and free wifi. Instant coffee in room, but only powder milk, no long life.Complimentary soap and shampoo adequarte, but on the 'cost saving' scale

The Medea exceeded our expectations in every way. Be aware that without a car it is a bit isolated. We did have a car, though, so it was great to have free parking on the premises, and only a 5-minute drive into Alba. It was also easily accessible to the many other places we visited, much more so than if we had stayed in the center of Alba.
The room and public areas are spotless, the decor is traditional with good quality wood furniture, the bathroom is well-equipped and large, the king-size bed very comfortable. The staff could not have been nicer. We do not eat breakfast, so it was nice to have the option not to include it.

We booked this hotel as we were visiting the Truffle Festival in Alba and they had offered a good reduction. We thought it wouldn't be very good for the price but we were very pleasantly surprised. The room we had was extremely comfortable and clean and spacious with a nice en suite shower room. A very acceptable breakfast was included in the price. This is a family hotel and everyone there was very friendly. We would go again without hesitation

Ideal reference for a trip to the Langhe. Clean hotel with large rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Located 5 km from Alba with large parking. Good and plentiful breakfast. The proletarians give excellent advice on moving around the area.

Good morning,
From Bra Center to Hotel Medea are 10 km by the car.
By train must get off at the station "Monticello" or "Mussotto", the journey takes only a few minutes.
From the station of Monticello we can come and take.
Best regards
Cristina
