Detailed Reviews
Just outside Agrigento to the south of the temples, and less than a mile from a sandy beach with lidos. Ideal location to see the temples, and cool off at the sea if it's 90 plus degrees as it was during our visit. Very pleasant setting with courtyard and patio for dinner with a distant view of some of the temples. Rooms are modest size, clean, with good water pressure. Note to management: go easy on the sweet smelling stuff; the hotel is clean enough with adding cloying smells. But that's a minor gripe. Service at dinner was special, especially the older gentleman who could carry six plates full of food. Especially if you're a bit travel weary when you arrive and are more interested in seeing the temples than immersing in a city, this is the ideal location. As noted, just a few minutes drive to the sea to cool off.

In November 2021, my husband and I stayed two nights in Hotel Foresteria Baglio della Luna. We were traveling with my elderly parents (87 and 82) as part of a private car tour with HandySicily. My parents (due to their age and trouble with stairs) had a lovely ground floor room. My husband and I had a second floor room, and we had a lovely view skyline view of the Agrigento skyline and the Valley of Temples.
This hotel has an elegant old world charm was very beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and they were even able to provide some gluten free options for myself and my mother because we have celiac disease and cannot eat gluten.
This hotel is an ideal romantic location for a couple traveling with a car or someone who has access to a driver because it is quiet and out of the way. There is a lovely garden, and the courtyard and dining area are also very beautiful.

We had a junior suite which was spacious and peaceful though a little dark in seating area. The food was delicious even if it is a little expensive the location more than makes up for it -the second night we had dinner in the garden which was fabulous looking across to the valley of temples which is a short drive away. The hot tub in garden helped revive our tired legs after visiting temples but a pool would have been even better, and there is definitely sufficient room for one. On our last morning we were taken to the top of the ancient tower where the view was fabulous. Gardens and courtyard are beautifully kept. Staff polite and friendly. It was a memorable stay.

Located very conveniently about 2 km from the Valley of the Temple entry gates, Baglio Della Luna is a great choice for convenience and ambiance. The hotel consists of an old tower, which houses 3-4 rooms, and a more traditional building which houses around 20 rooms. We were in a tower room, which afforded beautiful views of the valley and the Temple. The baglio is situated on beautiful, well manicured grounds with an equally beautiful courtyard patio. We were there for only one night to visit the Valley of the Temple, but enjoyed our stay. The dinner was quite good, bar service was good with an excellent and entertaining bar tender and generous drinks. The dining room is comfortably elegant, as was the sumptuous breakfast and beverages offered in the morning. The bagio is also a short distance from the beach, which is an easy 15 minute walk.

We stayed one night in this beautiful hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room had a balcony from which we could see the largest of the temples in the Valley of the Temples. The temple was illuminated at night and made a lovely sight. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The grounds featured a beautiful garden, and a spacious courtyard…. A lovely setting for a pre-dinner aperitif. The dining room was equally lovely, and the food, delicious. The breakfast offering was sumptuous, and the waitstaff was very pleasant and eager to please. We would recommend this hotel without reservation.

This was an excellent base for a one-night stay near the Valley of the Temples. We had Room 206 which had a balcony with a nice view. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite bath was adequate. There is also a beautiful central courtyard/patio area. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast the next morning, although dinner the night before was expensive and a bit disappointing compared to the other restaurants we've enjoyed in Sicily. Still, we would certainly recommend a stay here -- just not dinner in the restaurant.

My boyfriend and I are traveling around Sicily and we started our journey from Agrigento and Il Baglio della Luna. The boutique hotel is an oasis in the dry Agrigento country side. The rooms are unique and comfortable, but it is not the best part of the experience yet. We dined at the “Accademia del Gusto” restaurant inside the structure. A wonderful green terrace with a wonderful view on the temples and exquisite local food. In the morning, we had a tasty and rich breakfast buffet, including sublime pistachio and almond croissant. It was the best start for our Sicilian trip and it is a recommended stay for a true Sicilian experience.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff was charming and helpful. They suggested a very knowledgeable guide to walk us through the archeological park and they suggested a restaurant for dinner that was fantastic. The room was large and lovely and looked out over olive trees to the sight of the temples lit at night. The breakfast room was gorgeous with views of the temples and the Mediterranean. We feel lucky to have found the hotel.

We came on a holiday for a family of 5, as part of an Inntravel holiday. The rooms were good, the food which showcased local specialities was great, and the staff were terrific, very friendly and generous - nothing was too much trouble from finding the perfect local guide for the temples to sourcing local olive oil right at the end of the season.. Highly recommended.

This is a pretty place. The tower has a place in history. Our room was a large one up in the tower, considered one of the best rooms, and it was very comfortable with antique furniture. DInner was one of two of our worst meals in Sicily. I was offered a cheese plate to replace my meal, which was a meager offering given that we were within the time frame for dinner. The hotel has another long wing of rooms that on the night of said dinner was occupied by those on a tour bus, and the dining room was filled with more people than the kitchen could handle. The hotel tried to keep us separated from the horde of folks on the tour bus, but as this was one of the more expensive hotels we stayed in, the service, and dinner did not reflect the quality we expected at that price. Breakfast was an extensive spread, and was fine. The woman who ran the breakfast room was wonderful, as was the day concierge who was eager to help.

Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates71 contributions2 helpful votesWhich rooms/room type do we need to book that have a balcony? Thank you
I suggest checking their website.
I do not believe the hotel has an elevator. As for a balcony, our second floor room at the end of the hall had a very small balcony...but only large enough for standing not for sitting on furniture.
Dear Lorne and Nancy,
Yes I can but before can you give me your surname that I have in your reservation? Have you reserved as Mr. & Mrs............?
Waiting for your reply,
Kind regards.
Dear Guest,
all our Superior rooms have Temples view and so you need to reserve a room not standard but Superior.
Kind regards.
