These wooden chalets were built in the 1980s, are immaculately maintained and quite quirky. We were in one bedroom number 5 with beautiful views from the windows and our balcony across the bay to Abel Tasman park. It had clearly been upgraded a little with a new carpet and two arm chairs. Yes, some of the fittings are older but why would you replace something that works and fits the ambiance? The day bed was perfect! Good to have a little safe as well and that seems to be unusual in New Zealand. We slept really well. My only issue was the infra red sensor which meant the outside light came on all the time - not good for sitting outside watching the stars! The hillside is steep but just requires a little extra care. Jared and Chris were really helpful and the water taxi was booked for us and was also an amazing service. Fat Tuis can be recommended as well. Lots of birds to watch from the balcony and it was lovely and peaceful at night. Would highly recommend this place

We stayed for 4 nights in the two bedroom chalet, It had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. It was spotlessly clean (and I really mean spotless) and the rooms were serviced and refreshed daily which we appreciated with all the sand from the beach etc. Jared and Chris were so lovely to deal with, our daughter loved Chris and visited her frequently in the reception area. It's an easy walk to the beach or cafe at the entrance to the park. The views are beautiful and you're only a short 15 minute drive to Kaiteriteri. Such a beautiful part of NZ and we can't wait to visit again. What a special place and we loved our stay. Thanks Chris and Jared, you are doing such an amazing job!!!

If you are planning on hiking in the Abel Tasman National Park choose to stay at the Ocean View Chalets. You can walk to the park's entrance from your chalet. The chalets are free standing located in a beautiful setting. The chalets are well appointed and eco-friendly. Jared was very helpful with any of our questions. The view was just lovely. We hope to have the opportunity to stay there again!

Can not praise this place enough. Our host, Gerard, was incredibly helpful. The chalets were incredibly well equipped. The view from our veranda instantly relaxed us after a long journey. Bring a crate of wine, a couple of good books, sit on the veranda and relax.
It is ideally suited for hiking, with some very clear paths leading to beaches. Gerard made us pack ups for our hike and supplied water bottles. Loved staying here.

We spent two nights in the chalets. Robert is a very friendly host and super helpful in choosing activities and organising the logistics around it.

The chalets are nicely situated on top of a little hill giving you a great view on the beach and the start of the Nationalpark.
They are perfectly equipped with cooking equipment and everything else you need if you want to prepare your own meals. Rooms are very tidy and nicely furnished.

All in all a great place to relax and enjoy a good time.

Thanks very much, would absolutely come back.

A family holiday away for 2 nights and we only wished we could have stayed longer. Stunning location with the most beautiful views. Birdsong in the morning just beautiful and especially loved the local tuis. Booked in three separate studio units that were all wonderfully comfortable, well equipped with everything you needed and all with stunning views. Especially loved watching the full moon come up over the horizon - a real bonus. Wonderful hosts - very welcoming and helpful. Left feeling very relaxed and rested. Can't wait to visit again.

First thing you notice as you arrive is the lush native plantings that the chalets are nestled in. The second thing you experience is a friendly welcome from people who are experienced at looking after Able Tasman visitors and look after them they do. We opted to return after we had finished our tour, so we stayed in two different chalets. You can easily tell these chalets have been well thought out, both had amazing views and rooms had private out looks to either bush farm land or the epic Tasman sea. [Make sure you wake early enough to watch a sunrise, so beautiful] We had everything we needed for a relaxing peaceful stay and will definitely return.

When you book accommodation based on a website, you can only hope that reality lives up to the advertising. Well, it certainly does at Ocean View Chalets. We had the pleasure of staying 3 nights in chalet no.4, which had an amazing view from the verandah and from the lounge and bedroom windows. It was spotlessly clean and tidy throughout, comfortably furnished and well equipped. Perfectly located for exploring the local area.
Jared and Chris are charming and friendly hosts who work hard to keep guests happy. Maintaining those ocean views must be a full time job on its own!
Thoroughly recommend this accommodation, and will certainly be staying again if in the area.

Location and Welcome: First Class

Five star welcome and helpfulness from Chris who, upon arrival, sorted us out with the sea kayaking trip we’d been thinking about.
The chalet accommodation did indeed have an ocean view and although it was quite small the room was very clean and contained everything we needed for our two night stay.
We opted to take their breakfast which was a buffet and included eggs cooked according to preference. It was very nice and set us up for the day.
If our itinerary had allowed, we’d happily have stayed longer.

We just loved our stay here. The chalets themselves were well designed, private and had all the amenities we needed. Everything was clean and sparkling. Breakfasts were healthy and delicious and included fresh fruit salad, cereals, cheese, salami and eggs and a range of breads and preserves. The coffee cups featuring native birds were beautiful, a lovely size to warm your hands around. The best feature though were the hosts, Jared and Chris, who were so pleasant and helpful and they ran the place professionally but with warmth..
