Kia Ora! Welcome to Marahau's only 100% dedicated backpacker accommodation. We are a new family run backpackers with emphasis on rest and relaxation. Our venue is large and spacious with big communal areas, so you are not bound to your rooms. Big outdoor areas, grass and courtyard, picnic tables, bbq's, indoor and outdoor fireplaces. There's plenty of entertainment areas- we have a large cinema with thousands of movies, darts, fuzeball, pool tables, video games. We sell food on site to remove the burden of cooking your own dinners; breakfasts, packed lunches, including Barista coffee and cold drinks. The dorms are air conditioned in summer and heated in winter to ensure your best night sleep, along with personal charging ports and a reading lamp for each bed.

We booked for one night and stayed for three as the kids loved the container ship style bunk rooms. Very warm and friendly family run property and easy to get the Aqua taxi into the Tasman daily as it's right next door. The cinema room of course was a hit with the boys 10yr and 11yrs. Have a great summer guys.

This place is truly a gem. When you arrive to the property you're greeted by the friendly owners and the adorable dog. The atmosphere is extremely laid back but also fun-filled as there are pool tables, foosball, a dart board, and a homemade cinema. It's easy to see how much time and energy has been put into making this place as amazing as it is now. The facilities are spotless, and the property is secluded but also in the best location for access to the beach and abel tasman. We are sad to hear that the season is coming to an end but we hope to return in the future, and in the meantime we will recommend this to anyone who is coming through to Marahau. Thank you Greg, Meg, and the woofers for all of your hospitality. Love, Tyler, Anna, Joe, Alice and Max

This hostel is perfect! The staff are very friendly, the location is great to explore Abel Tasman National Park, the garden is lovely. Facilities are clean, rooms are quiet. Bonus: several electrical/USB outlets for each bed, which is convenient for charging all your electronic devices. I highly recommend!

Best night ever at a backpackers. We loved every funky aspect of this unique backpacking experience. From the warm welcome on arrival, to the movie and popcorn, the rainfall showers, the bacon butty in the morning and the fun and fellowship with like-minded people
