The view from this restaurant is amazing ,one can see right up the lake, however the food left a lot to be desired. The Seafood Chowder was luke warm and not a lot of fish flavour and toasted cibatta bread served without butter. The other meal purchased was a chicken hamburger that looked as though it had been forgotten in...

Whilst i feel 'average' is a little unfair, i guess in this day and age of standards, for the price (i paid £120 for one night) it should have been a little better perhaps. There are definitely better hotels for that price in the world. The circumstances and timing of my stay had a lot to do with my average...

With great views of the lake, we enjoyed delicious fish and chips and a nice cold beer in the pub. There was a game on so we lucked in with $12 fish and chips special, bargain. The fish was absolutely delicious, very light batter and it even came with a delicious green salad. It is also a great place to...

First impressions were a little off putting to be honest. It presents as an average style restaurant our waiter on the day appeared a little 'pompous' for the scene - pretentious is perhaps a good way to describe his demeanor and service, completely out of place in this place and his attitude undeserved because he was not amazing. Wait time...

We reached Lake Hawea Hotel at around 12:20 noon on a very sunny day (Mar 24) the location is about 15 mins away from Lake Wanaka, it's indeed difficult to travel around without a car >.< The friendly receptionist, Pru (I hope I get her name right!) offered to bring us to Wanaka to rent a car when she's off...

My wife and I stayed at the Lake Hawea hotel for two nights, choosing to eat at that hotel on our first night. We arrived at 6.30pm and placed our meal orders at approx 6.45pm. We initially ordered water for our table, followed by two gasses of wine. The water was unreasonably delayed, as was our wine, requiring me to...

The Lake Hawea Hotel is fantastic. They have both a hotel and a hostel in separate adjacent facilities. Some of the reviews that are posted here are for the hostel, like the comment about the shared kitchen. We stayed in one of their Family Suites. It was beautiful. Each of the suites and studios has a great view of the...

We'd booked one night in a budget lake view studio. I was worried about the "budget" in the description but needn't have been. The view from the balcony was spectacular both day and night. The room was very comfortable. Yes the bathroom needed to be updated, but for the price paid, we were very happy. We had dinner in the...

Stayed one night in room 17. Hostel is basic but clean and suitable for our needs. Bathrooms in a separate building behind the rooms. They were clean but busy during peak times. Plenty of young people staying here so can get a bit noisy at night
