Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at this hotel and restaurant. Having celiac disease is no fun but at The Westberry the food was superb and the chef even produced a starter which was not on the menu. It was so good I had the same the second night and so did my partner. Main courses were equally as delicious. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and well placed for touring Cornwall. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Had a three night weekend stay with work colleagues recently. Room (14) was spotless, large and very comfortable with a big bed and it had everything I needed. Lovely bathroom too. I liked that I could turn the radiators on and off as I wished, but it was easy to forget and fry or freeze. A thermostat would be good (and would save the owners energy bills). Pleasant and friendly staff team, and very nice restaurant. Slightly odd that you have to order your breakfast choices the night before. If you don't change the order you'll get the same every day. However it does mean that the breakfast arrives promptly. I would happily stay again
Well, I have had room upgrades in the past, but this was the first Hotel upgrade! I had been booked in at the Inn next door, but Booking.com had not bothered to tell the new owners that I had a booking. Hence, when I arrived, no room. The Manager took me around to the Westberry and paid for me to stay here, which I thought was above and beyond, and lucky for me :) I loved my stay here, the room was clean and tidy, great breakfast, very friendly staff and the restaurant was excellent. There was nothing here not to like. I would stay here again.
We had two twin rooms for two nights in the annexe building at the rear of the car park. The rooms were modern, clean and plenty of space. A comfy table and chairs to enjoy our morning coffee. Water was hot. TV, WiFi, hair dryer, ironing board, extra pillows and blankets as well as heaters were all available in the rooms. Breakfast was lovely. Plenty of extra toast and coffee. Very friendly staff, top service. Very clean breakfast room. Excellent cleanliness throughout. Extra thanks to Mary for her Irish humour and friendly service.
My girlfriends & I had a fabulous meal last night in the Hoi-an restaurant in the hotel. It was to celebrate my birthday. The staff were wonderful, service excellent & we so well looked after. The food too was fabulous, I had the chicken Penang curry & it certainly hit the spot. We all live in Bodmin & would highly recommend the restaurant, we love supporting local business, especially in these hard times. Thank you Westberry for making my birthday a special evening. 🥂
room was comfortable and quite spacious with an great bathroom. good value and convenient location. friendly and helpful staff. breakfast was average but restaurant was spectacularly good for evening meal. choice of food reflected the heritage of the owner (vietnam). well worth a visit especially for the food.
Lovely day hotel was spotless lovely modern bathrooms rooms a little dated but had everything you needed the restaurant menu and wedding fayre was extremely high standard, breakfast cold selection could be a little better very good value overall.
We had a 2 night stay at the end of August beginning of September. The hotel was fine. The rooms spotless but dated except for the bathrooms which were lovely with excellent showers. However the breakfast was a let down it was adequate I suppose but the coffee was awful. It was served in a carafe but was obviously instant coffee as there were no granules at the bottom. The breakfast just let the whole stay down. However the staff were friendly.
Stayed here for two nights. Good location in Bodmin, couple of minutes walk from pubs/restaurants and shops, and around 15 minutes to Bodmin Heritage Railway, so no need to get the car out. We were able to park relatively easily in the hotel car park but it is quite 'tight' parking and might be a problem if you arrive late. We also chose it because it is relatively easy to get to both coasts, eg Padstow in the North and Looe/Polperro in the South. We had a large room in the main part of the building overlooking the town, with a four poster bed and very large bathroom. Everything was clean and staff helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were pre-booked but fine and well cooked, but would have liked a 'fruit' course option. We ate in on one night and enjoyed the South Asian food. For good pub food and St Austell ales try 'The Weavers' in Honey Street, only a few minutes walk away. Best to book in advance though as can get busy.…
Clean rooms, good facilities, nice modern bathroom. Breakfast was nice and plenty of choice. Ate in the restaurant one evening and food was delicious - would definitely recommend a visit. Parking was an problem when we came back late one night but managed to find some spaces on a nearby pay and display.
