Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thai food was absolutely delicious especially the mixed starter plate and the Char Su and King Prawn dish. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because some of the wait staff were unsure of the dishes and bought them out but didn’t know what they were called. A bit of staff training needed especially with the cost of the meal.

A lovely little hotel with a decent Vietnamese/south east Asian restaurant (other dishes are available as well). I had a car accident on the way down and the staff were very considerate and understanding and gave me a free drink. My room was spotless, absolutely spotless. Great location and a really nice breakfast and all very affordable. Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely stay again

Booked 2 nights to attend a family funeral and chose the hotel due to its location. I received a very warm welcome and was impressed by the friendly reception, bar and restaurant staff. My room was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent, Vietnamese and Western menus. I ate with cousins on the first night and we all enjoyed it very much, the Char Sui, the family speciality was lovely. The next evening the Thai Green Curry was really tasty. Breakfast has to be ordered the day before, ask for a fresh form if you want something diffferent. An approximate time is also requested but no trouble, this is probably due to staff shortage which is common in hospitality these days. My first breakfast was rather cool so next day ordered the Continental which was a well presented plate of everything you'd want. I will stay here again for sure when next visiting Bodmin. A hint to fellow guests, if you are coming in late or leaving early, the fire doors will close quietly with a bit of care!

Last minute invite to family get-together in Bodmin, and a quick Internet search found this hotel. Wasn't expecting a great deal from what appeared to be a lower end of the market hotel so was very pleasantly surprised. On site parking. Large room with toiletries, tea/coffee, quiet, good blackout. We didn't eat in restaurant but menu, Vietnamese with some English, looked good. Breakfast was good. What made hotel special was the staff; genuine, friendly and helpful.

Very pleasant hotel, friendly efficient staff and clean rooms. Happy to keep our cycles safe, we were doing LEJOG. However, the breakfast was very disappointing - little choice of cereal and tea/coffee made from hot water kept in a large thermos flask. We did not eat in the restaurant as thought it was rather expensive. Overall a pleasant stay but do not think we would return due to the lack of choice of breakfast options.

Although dogs are accepted, which is why I booked this hotel, I then found out that although the hotel knew I had a dog and had booked a table for dinner, I was then told "no dogs in the restaurant, only outside." This also included breakfast and meant we had to eat one at a time as we were told the dog could not be left alone in the room. Despite the dog surcharge, nothing was provided for the dog - no bowl, no bed, no rug. At other hotels (some quite expensive) if they accept dogs then you are booked a corner table or an area in the bar (I fully appreciate the need to do this as not everyone wants your dog anywhere near them while eating) and some hotels/pubs even provide a little goody-bag of a couple of treats and some poo bags as well as a blanket and a bowl! (See the Castle Inn, Lydford - lovely place.) Apart from my "dog-moan" the room in the annexe on the ground floor was musty-smelling and the shower only produced a dribble. The pillows are large and very firm. The room was clean, the position of the hotel is convenient for the town, parking was right outside the room. Breakfast needs to be ordered and timed the night before but I was satisfied with it, even though I had to eat it alone with my phone for company.

The hotel is perfectly located, the staff are super friendly and the restaurant food is to die for! I got super lucky after having booked this hotel - not realising they have a vegan friendly restaurant in house (I'm a vegan!). An and Rhiannon were wonderful help and really friendly, thankyou! The only critique if at all is that maybe there needs to be a bigger team of staff, the restaurant takes alot of staffs time (rightfully so, food is gorgeous) but it can then mean there's a delay for other things. That said I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Had an amazing stay.at this hotel. The room was very clean and the bathroom had been updated. The staff were amazing,so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with a choice to suit everyone and was served to your table. I cannot fault this accommodation. It was central to the town and close to the bus stop, very easy to find , when I arrived in town. Thank you to everyone whom made my stay amazing.
