Basic but pleasant. It did the job. Friendly pleasant staff and nice and clean. Value for money being so close to the airport and airport parking you can't beat it. Their rates for airport parking are somewhat excessive though.
I stayed here for 2 nights, 5 days apart as i went to Italy in between. For a very small fee I was able to leave the bulk of my luggage there which was great. I have nothing negative to say about this place at all. It was perfection in every way. They have thought of everything including a heated, weatherproof gazebo for smokers. To the beautiful, friendly staff a huge thank you.
As with most people (I suspect) my stay was the night before a very early check in and found the Corner House Hotel perfectly fitted my needs. Excellent location for the airport with excellent room, a small bar and home cooked food.
Other reviews seem to have focused on the limited menu (I had a fantastic meal!) staff availability out of hours or location to other pubs etc. Frankly, if these things bother you then pay more money and stay in a larger hotel.
Everything ran very smooth , we were a family of 9 arriving late & leaving early, nothing was too much trouble, friendly service , bar service very good and staff very pleasant, parking is tight but no problems, shuttle bus at 6am to gatwick airport with a very friendly lady, again very helpful, rooms are clean and spacious. on arrival back to Gatwick a week later one phone call to tell them we had arrived they told us exactly where to go to meet the mini bus and they were there within 5 mins, once arriving back at Corner house hotel all our cars were there undamaged no problems at all, keys given back and off we go, would recommend
We stayed for one night prior to flying out from Gatwick.
The main reason I chose this hotel was because it had onsite parking (at a fixed cost per night) and a shuttle to the airport (fixed cost per journey per room). What I didn’t realise was that you had to leave your keys with the hotel and they would move your car to another site and bring it back again. Unfortunately as we’ve had a bad experience with this kind of arrangement in the past, although not at this hotel, this wasn’t an option for us.
It may have been stated somewhere through the booking process but either way it was a surprise to us. So we actually ended up booking Gatwick long stay self parking which worked out at exactly the same price as leaving the car at the hotel...
As for the hotel itself - the staff were very pleasant and the room was clean. The property is quite dated and tired looking but for the price we payed it was acceptable.
We ate an evening meal and a cooked breakfast in the restaurant - both were acceptable.
Overall if you want cheap and cheerful this fits the bill.

I cant answer you for the breakfast, but there is no coffee maker in the room. I highly suggest you check the temperature in Horley on the day and evenings of your stay. There is no AIr conditioning, again at least not in the room I had. We got lucky because it was nice at night so opening the window made it comfortable. However if you are staying during a time when temps are high you may not be so comfortable.
