Very disappointed, apart from the bedding everything and everywhere was filthy. It's a shame it could of been so much better. The location is ideal. The hotel felt like it was on its knees. Dirty Cutlery , cups, tables, floors could go on. We left a day early as we couldn't face

Is there parking at the hotel as I'm staying here with my 18 month old son so will need to be close to hotel ?
No, there aren't any parking spaces at the hotel. Even pulling over to get all your things out would cause a lot of problems. X

Hello, I am a little confused on the huge amount of contradiction I am reading on the current reviews for this hotel. I have stayed at many places all around the world including hostels. The majority of current reviews do not put this hotel in a good light but Your review was highly recommended, so can I ask, did you see new carpet on the stairways and was there any Chinese food smells present as I understand from some of the reviews the hotel is next to and also over a Chinese restaurant or two. Do you feel you got full value for money for the room you stayed in and would you stay at this hotel again. Kind regards Christian
Yes the hotel is next door to the only Asian restaurant in the harbour and the hotel has a dragons nest sign on the other end of the building but no smell from the sign the hotel is a 300 years old lady who was ready to be demolished and converted to expensive flats however £1.5m was spent on her to keep her as a listed grade 2 hotel therefore lots of oak used and not the modern match-box rooms. two type of people come here the ones who love matchbox hotel and eat at weatherspoons and hate old buildings and old towns and the ones who love this old lady and chat with the locals and love the harbour views and keep history live.
