Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Couple of days with friends. Fabulous hotel. Both couples had sea view luxury rooms. Immaculately clean and spacious. The place is very relaxed but the staff were professional, available and friendly if needed. We had tea on the last evening while waiting for the ferry and it was great. Highly recommend

We have had several staycations at the Empress staying in the sea view suite which is roomy, comfortable and has good views of Douglas bay from the lounge which is separate from the bedroom with it's attached bathroom. The low season rates are very affordable and includes full breakfast, the hotel has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, the staff are friendly and efficient and the food, both in the restaurant and bar is very good. Although there isn't a car park and the on street parking is limited there is a bus stop opposite with buses every 20 minutes serving the town centre, sea terminal and airport, the town centre being a fifteen minute stroll along the promenade.

This is one of the best places to have Afternoon tea in Douglas. Great selection of cakes, sandwiches and a fantastic dessert to top it off ! Only comment is it’s always hard to find staff around the restaurant. Do we sit where we want? Do we wait to be seated?

Lovely hotel, rooms quite small. Large bathroom. Great breakfast. Evening food choice had a nice variety. Staff friendly and very helpful. Front doors not automatic, proved a problem one evening. We would stay again. Wheel access has lots of doors. All in all a pleasant stay over a weekend.
