Detailed Reviews
The staff at the Dunmuir are first class - so attentive and professional but friendly too. The beds are comfortable and rooms very clean and spacious. The food is quality no matter what you choose to eat. Breakfast is served to the table including toast - no standing trying to use those horrible toasters (which never toasts!)
There is a small cosy bar for pre dinner drinks or coffees.
Lesley in particular is smashing ( no offence to the other staff who are great) but Lesley was run off her feet but still kept smiling and delivered first class service at breakfast.
All in all, we have stayed in the Dunmuir a few times and hope to return sooner than later.
Thanks very much 😀😀

This is a lovely hotel in a great location with plenty of safe parking. It's family run small hotel with a team that ensures they deliver a first class customer service and also offer excellent value for money. We stayed 2 nights in a superior kingsize room on the first floor of the main building which was spotlessly clean and fully met our needs. Prior to arriving we were advised that building work was on going to renovate areas but to be honest you would not have known as there was no noise at all. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, freshly cooked and brought to your table. No cheap look-warm buffet. Nothing was too much trouble and there was even a butchers sausage offered for Winston, our wee pug, which went down a treat 🐶😋. The hotel is in close proximity to the town centre, parks and the beach. This was our first visit to the Dunmuir and it most certainly will not be our last.

We stayed at the Dunmuir for a wedding locally, the price of the room was reasonable, and when we arrived the staff were very helpful. The rooms are a little on the small side but very comfortable bed, excellent bathroom / shower and the usual amenities including tv, tea and coffee.
I would highly recommend the hotel, the only minor gripe was the room we were in must have thin walls or the occupants of next door were very loud.

I am writing this review to share my positive feedback and appreciation for the outstanding service and memorable moments we encountered throughout my stay.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The check-in process was swift and efficient, and the staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and accommodating.
The room exceeded our expectations in every way. It was clean, well-appointed, and provided all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay.
We had exceptional dining options available especially the breakfast buffet which was a delightful culinary experience, offering a wide variety of delicious and fresh options to suit every taste. The attentive waitstaff made us feel welcome and attended to our needs with great care.
Furthermore, I would like to commend the entire hotel staff for their outstanding service.
The Dunmuir was perfectly located to explore the surrounding area for golfer, walkers and cyclists and sightseers. It should be noted also dog friendly.
The owners also went to the trouble of posting back to my home a charger cable left in the room.
All in a wonderful experience highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived on Weds 11th Aug for a 2 day break we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble, our Superior Room was spotless and big enough to fit an extremely comfortable camp bed in for our 6 year old daughter which she loved. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to get oats milk to cater for our Daughter's milk allergy. Breakfast choices were excellent, local, fresh and tasty.
The location of the hotel is great as a base to other destinations. On our second night we ate in the restaurant and only wish we had booked the 1st night as well. I can only describe the beef medallions as totally mouth watering with perfectly cooked vegetables that wouldn't have been out of place in a Michelin restaurant. My wife said her steak was heaven and how a medium steak should be. Moving onto dessert our cheeseboard and peach tarte tatin hit new heights we didn't believe possible. Washed down with a few glasses of wine and 3 exquisite whiskies from a wide choice this was the perfect meal that will long live in the memory. We can't wait to return.
A great hotel with fabulous hosts.

Dear Vwagner, Wow, what can we say but a heartfelt thank you for placing your amazing review following your stay with us. It was a pleasure to welcome you all. We were so pleased to read that the team went out of there way to ensure your daughters stay was even more comfortable with the special provision of "oat" milk. I will share that with Kate who organized this for you all. It was brilliant also read that you enjoyed dining with us and I would agree our Steaks are outstanding and we use "Shaws of Lauder" . It was really kind of you to say the standard was that of a Michelin Restaurant which is praise indeed. I do hope we can welcome you all back when you next visit Dunbar and thanks again for your amazing review Kind regards Philip

A short walk from the beach, the station and the town centre this was an ideal location for our extended family stay whilst attending a wedding nearby. There was a mixture of rooms - not very large but clean and comfortable and great value for money. A delicious home cooked breakfast with great variety was a welcome start to each day. The staff were amazing - very friendly and responsive. A small bar area with good drink selection was a popular meeting place for all the family. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a break around Dunbar.

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely hotel and cannot thank the staff enough for looking after us. I am having mobility issues currently and instead of having a room on the first floor as booked they moved us to a ground floor room which was very comfortable and had a lovely wet room - perfect!
The 1902 restaurant has gorgeous decor which is just perfect for eating the delicious food on offer (especially the fish and chips!). You put your order in for the breakfast the night before and you select what items you want. There was a vast selection and I have to admit I ordered too much for the first morning's breakfast.
This hotel is in a great location and we are looking forward to returning in the New Year. I would highly recommend the Dunmuir Hotel and the wonderful staff! Thank you.

7 of us stayed at the Dunmuir as a base for a 4 night golfing holiday in the local area. The hotel was excellent and highly accommodating throughout.
Rooms were great and served us all well. None of the 7 complained and all seemed to have had decent sleeps.
Restaurant and bar were fantastic. For ease we ate here on all days and the restaurant was always very busy a fantastic sign for visitors when locals are enjoying themselves!! The food was very very good. Breakfasts too!!
Overall a brilliant trip and a hotel that no doubt will form the base of further Scottish golfing trips!!

We stayed for two nights at the Dunmuir. I have to say that it was superb! The room was huge and enough space for three of us. The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful and managed to fit us in to the restaurant at short notice despite being very busy and must say the meals were beautiful. My son was playing in a golf competition at Gullane and had a very early tee time on the Sunday and the owner managed to arrange a tremendous cooked breakfast for us before we set off. A massive thank you to owners and staff of the Dunmuir from the Keith family. Will most definitely recommend and return.

My wife and I stayed on the 10th & 11th November for our wedding anniversary. We booked the superior king room on a 2 night B/B basis with dinner 1 night. I booked directly through the hotel for the best rate.
Free parking, excellent location and short walk to Dunbar town centre.
Every member of staff, from check in, until we left, were friendly & welcoming. The room had everything we needed, clean and homely, couldn't fault any aspect of it.
Breakfasts both mornings were not just good, they were excellent, fresh, quality produce. We had pre ordered the night before, bearing in mind that you can order as much or as little as you like, it comes fresh & hot, an excellent idea that runs like clockwork.
Special mention to Jack who served both breakfasts and our evening meal; service was second to none. Friendly and efficient, Jack's local knowledge was informative, interesting and much appreciated, a credit to the hotel.
The hotel has great character, history, excellent staff & location and I highly recommend it.

Hi Sorry for our delay the message went into our spam - there is no age restriction as other reviews have said we are very family friendly. Kind regards Philip
As everyone above has said, ample parking. Food is delicious too.
Hi Philip
We are just set back from the Sea, a few of our rooms have what I would call a glimpse of the sea but we don't promote that as a feature.
We are less than a 5 minute walk to beach
Hope that helps and if I can be of any further help please do not hesitate to contact me on. Philip
