We stayed over the October weekend and it was an amazing experience. We hired 2 of the beach huts and it was a magical experience.
Petra was an amazing host truly welcoming and proud of what is an amazing business on a working farm. Petra allowed my 7 year old and 6 year old niece to help with the chickens and goats. They loved it. Collecting the fresh eggs etc.
Rudi the dog was a welcome visitor and the girls loved his visits. The huts are a stones throw from the beach and the resort supplies spades and sledges for the kids playing on the sand dunes.
Sitting out on your decking you feel like your miles from civilisation. But the huts offer homely touches and are warm at night with the wood burning stoves.
The honesty shop offers any bits you may have forgotten and you really can't help but love your experience here. We booked again for next October. Can't wait

We stayed here 3 years ago in a treehouse. This time we opted for the Beach House. It was fantastic, so well equipped and comfortable and importantly for us more space than the treehouse so on rainy days we could stay in with the kids to play.
There's no electricity but you are provided with electric lamps (handy for getting up through the night) and candles which adds to the romance of it all at night! The kitchen is really well stocked, every utensil we needed. The beds are lovely and comfy. The shower runs off a gas boiler so hot water for washing. There is a cool box and they give you a frozen water bottle each day to keep things cool, although we ended up buying ice bags when we were at the shops as it wasn't that great for getting things properly cold like milk and more importantly wine...!
The trust shop is really well equipped, snacks, wine, beer, toiletries, almost everything you'd need short notice.
The porch out front was great, we sat out every evening with the fire going. And the beach itself is just on the other side of the dune, just perfect.
Location wise it feels like a private beach totally removed from the world, but then just half an hour drive and you're in Edinburgh and it's ideal for day trips. There's also a fab farm park for kids just ten minutes away.
I could go on and on... this place really is that good. I worry its spoiled us forever for glamping sites as its absolute perfection.

We visited in April 2022 for four nights with three kids and absolutely loved it. It is a secluded location with stunning views with the backdrop of a forest. Chris from Harvest Moon was so helpful and wonderful with the kids letting them feed the lambs and alpacas daily. The cabins are lovely and rustic. The beach is a five minute walk from the cabins which also benefitted from having no one else on it apart from us😆.
We were lucky enough to have sunny weather and children from several of the treehouses played football and rugby together most days. We went off site to go on the train from Dunbar to Edinburgh and ended up going twice to Foxlake for water adventures.
There is a honesty box 'shop' which stalked some helpful items. We were lucky as we had been camping north so had a few extras with us that we needed such as washing up liquid, BBQ skewers and an axe for chopping kindling. The wood was all supplied but our fire lighting skills required us to chop some a little smaller to keep it going. There was a couple of seats at the firepit outside which was great but as there were five of us we benefited from having our own camp chairs.
We were very lucky with sunny, dry weather which made it such a wonderful location and we hope to return in the future. I would highly recommend it and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

So many holidays are about experiencing luxury above and beyond home comforts, yet Harvest Moon is about casting away material considerations in favour of something much more valuable yet basic. I leave Harvest Moon with a feeling of peace and contentment. We were put in a tree house that was closest to the track leading to the cabins where the rest of our party was - another nice touch. We spent evenings by the fire staring up the stars and listening to the waves, the sky free of light pollution and the beach not far away. The farm road leading to Harvest Moon provides an immediate sense of leaving the rat race behind and being somewhere other before I had even got out of the car! The beach is splendid and Bass Rock looks almost cosmic. Apart from a handful of other people we were the only ones on it, despite it being 25 degrees. In the cabin heat, light and cooking are provided using a stove. There is something 'elemental' about making your own fire in the stove. Cabin light is from candles or rechargeable electric lanterns (electric light in the tree houses). Life took on a different pace and without a phone signal or wifi, unwinding became easy. I liked that the environment was dog free. We did not have to contend with intermittent barking breaking the peace. Best of all, chickens and guineafowl could run around safely which was just really grounding and my daughter loved it. The staff at Harvest Moon are fantastic and involved my daughter in alpaca and goat feeding! The tree houses and cabins are spaced apart, so there is a sense of remoteness and exclusivity and yet a simultaneous sense of community too. Cheaper holiday parks cram cabins closer together, so it is worth paying to stay at Harvest Moon. Car parking was arranged unobtrusively and to reduce the number of people who would walk past the tree houses and cabins, which I thought showed genuine attention to detail. Most of all we had fun splashing in the sea, cycling on the tracks, feeding the animals and watching shooting stars. The reason this is not a five star review is simply that the mattress I slept on (2nd tree house from the cottage in the first bedroom not the bunk) was totally beyond its useful life if not broken (in my opinion), giving me a poor and uncomfortable sleep and some degree of ache. Harvest Moon is one of my favourite places and I can't wait to go back. The setting, the staff and the thought that has gone into creating this wonderful environment will draw my family back annually, even if I need to take my own mattress topper! I hope Harvest Moon doesn't change because the simplicity is perfect.

Thanks for your review and your extremely kind words, we were slightly surprised you only gave us 3 stars which translates as 'average' on tripadvisor. We are delighted you had a good time, and we have a range of mattress toppers from hard to soft that we can add during the stay so in the future just ask.

We spent a magical long weekend at Harvest Moon, staying in the Treehouses. The location is breathtaking, with a superb (and usually nearly deserted) beach just 10 mins walk away and beautiful woodland and fields in all directions. Perfect for sandcastles, kite flying, exploring and rockpooling. The Treehouse was the stuff of childhood dreams - kids loved the swings and the hammock, toasting marshmallows round the firepit and climbing trees around the Treehouse. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming and instantly made us feel at home. The beds were clean and comfy, the shower hot and the heaters kept the bedrooms snug even when it was chilly and blowing a howling gale outside! The wood burning stove meant the kitchen space was toasty and the deck was perfect for both watching wildlife and enjoying a G&T in the evening sun! Kids especially loved feeding the alpacas and walking over the fields to the cabins site to pet the pygmy goats. They want to move in permanently! We all loved it - will definitely be back.

Had a great long weekend in a beach cabin. The beach cabin had everything we needed and the staff were really helpful. We stayed with a baby and toddler and the cot and high chair were good quality and they had left a fire guard to go round the wood burner. The kids loved the place - collecting wood for the fire, seeing the goats and chickens and visiting the beach. Would definitely recommend for fun time away from TV and iPads!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. We absolutely loved our stay from start to finish.
The kids adored the beach cabin with cupboard bed which they claimed as their gang hut! Chickens 🐓 with fresh eggs for our breakfast, lazing in the hammock, building a firepit to toast marshmallows and the beautiful beach a stones throw away. There was also a boat honesty shop, goats 🐐 and horses.
All in all we had a fantastic glamping experience and will be booking again to come back soon.

I stayed here with my daughter, her 3 children (9, 7 and 4) last week, in the top beach hut, and had a whale of a time. The weather was kind, and we spent all day sand surfing, body boarding, digging sandcastles, kite flying - never a dull moment. There is now a phone charger in each hut, otherwise it was nice to be away from social media- even though the Olympics were on! Lovely clean facilities, friendly service, very happy chickens (a highlight!). Guinea fowl and pygmy goats added to the fun. Hammock comes as standard, and you can book a firepit, and r own a pet chicken in its coop, but they're all very friendly Rescues. This was our second visit - we met up with a family on their 9th, says it all. A converted boat shop sells basics, with a nearby fridge selling milk and other essentials. Tesco at North Berwick is literally 15 minutes away. We'll be back!

Wow! What an amazing place to stay. We had the best time, the views and the quiet private beach was a beautiful bonus. The beds were so comfy and the treehouse had everything we needed. The children loved being greeted by the hens throughout the day. We can’t wait to book again!!

Well where do I start. From the moment you turn off the main road up the path towards the treehouses you can feel the relaxation starting to kick in. We where allocated treehouse 4. Which was a godsend for us as a large family of 2 adults and 5 children. It is the only treehouse with the granny annex or hobbit house as we called it. Without it I think we would have struggled for space. In the annex is a double bed so it afforded us the privilege of not having to convert the lounge area into a sleeping space. The treehouse is magical for children. It is well equipped for everything you might need. A toaster and a kettle in the kitchen so you don’t need to light the aga and wait half an hour for a brew. The location is just sensational. All the treehouses look out over the dunes and farmland. You really do feel a million miles away in a good way though. We still had 4g so we weren’t cut off from the world. The beach was a 5-10 minute walk over farmland. It was just gorgeous. The beach is stunning with hardly any other people on it. The staff were lovely. Chris in particular always stopped and chatted. He called the kids down when he was feeding the alpacas which they loved. The pigmy goats were a short walk away over by the beach cabins so we walked to see them a few times and the chickens just roam freely around during the day. The children had a fabulous time as did we. Definitely recommend harvest moon holidays and we can’t wait to return.

Towel pack can be provided, at cost, but take clothes for multi weather, make sure you have plenty matches/lighters for the fire, kitchen basics are good so washing up liquid etc, there’s an Asda & Tesco not far, but allow plenty change for the honesty shop so you pay up fully st the end of your trip.
We’re def going again, absolute heaven
Hi there, Thank you for your enquiry we don't have any power points on site, but we do have a charging shed with power points and an area for drying your hair which is about 1 mile (or less) from site. I hope this answers your query. Petra.

"Remember the weather! Due to the construction of the Treehouse buildings the wind will run under and over you, amplifying the noise. Also, take hard-soled slippers! "
