Had breakfast here and it was so good as with all Wetherspoons. It's a fabulous place to be in and so big with high ceilings. Will certainly be back here when in the area. Hubby said it's the best halloumi wrap he's ever had and my poached eggs on toast were really good as well.

is the hotel right in the heart of town if not how far from train station
I would say it's about 1 mile give or take to the center of Wigan. About 15-20 minutes walk, easy to do (without bags). There are also city buses that will take you between 'downtown' and the hotel.

Depending on the route taken between 6.5 and just over 8 miles and would need to go through the town centre. There is a travel lodge much closer at Piele Road Haydock
