There was some mould around the bath. Also, we asked for room service 2 times during our stay, however, we hadn’t received it! We put top me up sign on door before 11am every time but sadly no one cares!
The building, an old railway station, is fascinating and one of the staff members showed me some hidden gems. The staff were consistently cheerful and helpful, and the accomodation comfortable. Excellent value for money
We went to Durham for the second time this year and stayed at Travelodge which we found to be well situated for getting to the city centre (being only 10-15 minutes walk). The hotel in our opinion was excellent value for money, the rooms being clean and tidy and as we stayed in a family room pretty spacious. Our room was in the annex part of the Hotel and was very quiet at night. We ordered breakfast boxes which to be honest were enough to keep us going until lunchtime having cereal, oat bar and juice, as well as tea and coffee in the room (plenty of refills available in reception). An added bonus as well was the free car parking (as this can be pretty expensive in Durham). An added bonus was the historic building itself (having previously been a railway goods station). Overall a very nice and comfortable place to stay.…
We booked this as a last minuted replacement when Booking.com cancelled our apartment. We were pleasantly surprised as my previous stays (some years ago now) had put me off Travelodge, but it appears they have upped their game. The family room we had was great, everything you needed and even with the four of us in it, it didn’t feel cramped. It’s a 15 walk into the main square in Durham (20 min back as all up hill), do doable. Car park was available and free, so also a good point. Overall a really good place to stay at s reasonable price. Thanks and well done.
Very well situated for town centre, no issues parking and staff were excellent throughout. Very good value. Two adults and one child staying. Room spacious and beds comfortable. Vending machine for snacks and good supply of tea, coffee and milk. No complaints at all.
