Welcoming staff, genuine welcome throughout our stay. Spoke with interest in your self and wellbeing. Good location as already noted in p's reviews, though our friend was furious at the fact he and wife drove around Durham for 1.5hrs before finding the hotel, even using satnav! Arguably it is tucked away. Room 309 comfortable, shower not very healthy, mostly a blackened colour which smelt, and the water coming out of it. We did not shower for two days out of our 4. Compensated immediately by two free (lovely) breakfasts. Reported the shower issue on early Saturday a.m., but not dealt with till Monday. Perhaps crew n/a at weekend, don't know. Breakfast room, pleasant but incredibly small considering the number of rooms in the hotel. Advice, get there early. Noticed across the river they are building a brand new P.Inn, you can see its progress if you walk across the road from this hotel. Car Park- worked out (with hotel discount) £30.60 for 4 nights. Very convenient to the hotel, and, land on Floor 1 there are automatic doors leading out to hotel. Other tip, Bishop Mill (Spoons pub) is 3-4mins walk away. look for steps up to W'Gate shops. Pub is tastefully done, huge, and well patronised. Loved by the youth of Durham, we four visitors were all over 70 and still enjoyed the atmosphere!

Hotel's Favourite
We returned to this Premier Inn last weekend having enjoyed our stay so much in 2019, We stayed for 4 nights exploring Durham, the coast and enjoying a concert at the beautiful cathedral. The hotel is very well-placed for these activities. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. Most outstanding is the friendliness of the staff. They are chatty and very helpful and make you feel right at home from the start of your visit. It was good to see Colleen again. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our second visit as memorable as the first. Liz and John Ward

Perfectly located in the city centre. Parking is next door and everything is easily accessed. The hotel staff were very helpful and the room was as you’d expect for a Premier Inn; clean & comfortable.

Second visit to this hotel- this time less enjoyable trip. Firstly management should not double up the bar and the concierge staff. On arrival, waited some time for the concierge staff to service pints of clients in the bar. As a hotel the main priority is checking in clients! Had a room on the 4 floor which is the premier room. The room 401 was ok- 403 is a better room, although less of a view, more spacious. A few things were a miss in the room- bathroom towel hanger, fridge cabinet door handle were both broken. Did not have breakfast at the room. Staff were ok, not as welcoming as the last time which was just after the lockdown was over.
