On arrival we were directed to the car park at the rear of the hotel which we needed a scratch card for £4 per day. This was fine. The location of the hotel is excellent. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the bathroom was very clean and spacious. The shower was a little low on pressure but did the job. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The welcome and friendly host together with the superb freshly cooked breakfast was excellent. Would recommend this property.

Just left after a three day stay, we arrived a day after my birthday and was surprised and touched to find a bottle of prosecco, a box of chocolates and a card, very thoughtful. Breakfast excellent made to order. Don't use the fish and chip shop on the corner, paid £17.50 for two fish and chips that ended up in the bin. Mark and Claire were super hosts attention to detail was exceptional Many thanks

We stayed in Weymouth for the Ironman 70.3 in September 2021. The location is fantastic, right on the beach with fantastic views of the bay. It’s only a short walk to restaurants and bars too. The breakfasts were lovely, hot breakfast made fresh to order. The couple, Mark & Claire, were absolutely amazing. We left a valuable helmet and did not realise. They called us straight away whilst on our way home and posted it back first class. We are so so grateful. Thank you so much for everything. Cannot wait to return.

Having booked this hotel for a short stay, we were greeted by Mark, friendly and polite, we stayed in room 12, a great sea view room. We were so impressed by the view, we asked Mark if we could extend our stay by two days, and we did. The breakfast was sumptuous and well presented, with a wide choice of cereals and juice, yogurts and cakes, a great belly filler to kick off your day. We recommend a stay at this hotel, you will not be disappointed. We look forward to booking again next year.

In my opinion, in the staycation era, pound for pound it’s hard to beat a stay by the seaside especially if the weather is kind. The Cumberland ticks all the boxes. Location is everything. The Cumberland hits the spot perfectly. It’s on the Esplanade so worth booking in advance to bag a sea facing room for glorious views (first floor ones have balconies). Bus and train services and plenty of restaurants close by. Rooms nicely equipped. Lovely breakfast. Paid car parking directly behind Hotei (scratch cards to stay by day available from reception). Very reasonable rates. All in all a quintessential seaside hotel.
