Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great food, great service and great views. Pete and Elliot, the new proprietors helped make our three night stay unforgettable. The staff are efficient, knowledgeable and would go out of their way to please. Our room and the dining room had great views. The food was superb. We thoroughly recommend this hotel and wish Pete and Elliot all the best for the future.

IA family party was booked at the Osborne Hotel on Saturday I rang the Hotel last month and. Peter assured me a newly appointed room would be ready by the time I arrived. The rooms have all been refitted beautifully, new en suite facilities and lovely décor. The Hotel is right on the road but I slept well and did not hear any traffic. The views from the front of the Hotel are beautiful Peter and Elliot the new owners were great, very friendly and welcoming. Elliot cooks superbly. The food at the party was a feast for the eyes and delicious to eat. Dinner on Sunday night did not disappoint either. I had breakfast with other members of the family and we were all in agreement that the hotel could not be beaten for food or service. We would all be happy to stay there again

We went for lunch on the spur of the moment and were not disappointed. We asked if the chips were homemade and the reply was "yes, everything is home made" and it shows. The crab cakes starter was delicious and the crab could be tasted. We both chose fish, haddock and the monkfish bites. When the dishes arrived we both agreed that the batter was the best that either of us had ever had, light, golden and crispy, with the fish cooked to perfection. So many people over cook fish. The portions are generous too. I have to mention the waitress also, she was very helpful and looked as if she was enjoying her job. Front of house can help make a meal and she certainly did. The Osborne has a bar as well which stocks real ales and these went down a treat with my other half. We shall

Four of us went for Sunday lunch. Great views over the Firth. Super Sunday Roast, fresh food, very reasonably priced . Best meal we have had in Scotland in a fortnight. Excellent, friendly and attentive service. Very clean and tidy. Nice place all round. A definite recommendation. Booking probably advisable. No accommodation up and running at the time of writing but die to open soon...I would definitely check this out as place to stay if I return.

While on a visit to my sister's in Dunoon, she suggested lunch at the Osborne, as she had eaten here before. This turned out to be a really pleasant experience. The staff were very nice, and the menu was just perfect for a casual lunch, with plenty of tasty and reasonably priced choices, and not just the usual burgers, baked potatoes, scampi etc. We had the delicious fish chowder followed by real Welsh rarebit, which came with chips and salad! Would love to go back soon for dinner if only the Osborne was closer to where I live!!

We were gutted when the owners of many years sold up. The then new owners ........ well the less said the better. We thought this treasure was gone for good, however, it has been bought by brilliant minds and reopened in January. I've been meaning to write this review for some time. The decor is bright and welcoming as are the staff. They have produced wonderful menus (we had to sample both more than once). The food is fantastic, fresh seasonal produce and a chef that can not only cook but actually understands that a salad does not constitute lettuce, tomatoe and cucumber alone. If we could afford to we would eat there every night. If you are not from the area, I can't recommend highly enough the short drive from Dunoon to Innellan, which is beautiful in its own right. The

Hi Elaine M. What a fantastic and heart felt review. So pleased we have turned this beautiful old building around and that you clearly are enjoying what we have to offer. We always accept slight tweaking suggestions and I understand where you are coming from with regards to little angels!!! I can only hope that this doesn't put you of coming. It's not very often that parents let them free to run around etc... Once again, thanks you for a glowing review and touch wood we will be here for many years to come. Pete.
