We finally made it here twelve months after our original booking was cancelled due to Covid restrictions. It was certainly worth the wait. As it was our wedding anniversary we splashed out on one of the two large suites in the hotel. Ours was the Londesborough room on the first floor. It’s a huge spacious suite with lots of seating areas to choose from and nice views over the park opposite. In keeping with the room size the bathroom is also sizeable with separate bath and shower. Staff in the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful and gave guidance on how to secure a parking permit for the duration of our stay. We dined twice in the restaurant and could not fault the quality of the food. The menu was fairly extensive with plenty to choose from. All in all great value and a welcome break for us post Christmas to coincide with our anniversary.

Situated in a super part of Scarborough the hotel has many architectural gems nearby, plus a very nice little park just outside the front door. The main shopping area and the bustling seafront are within a 5 minute walk. There is also the cliff tram if the legs are weary.
We chose this hotel as it is dog friendly with dedicated rooms available. Our room was very clean, all the usual facilities, in a quiet are just a short flight of stairs from reception.
We were also able to dine with our pet in a small room set aside for this very purpose. The ground floor bar area also caters for doggy friends.
Both the main restaurant and bar menus were available with a good range of foods at reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly and attentive, all of them. We must make particular mention of Marina who went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable, even contacting her mother to confirm which part of the beach was accessible to dogs.
Parking is on street, a multi storey close by, with low cost permits available to guests.
A great hotel, highly recommended.

We had never visited Scarborough and decided to visit for a birthday treat. We wanted a nice hotel that also allowed a dog and looked through all the available hotels. After reading all the reviews on the Crescent Hotel we booked for 3 nights.

We were not disappointed, as we had a small dog we were allocated a standard room (28) which was spacious with a reasonable view and clean.

All the staff were wonderful very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay and made a fuss of our little dog.

The breakfast was good plenty of choice and hot food. We had our evening meals in the restaurant and enjoyed every meal. We also had lunch in the bar downstairs and again couldn’t fault the food or service.

We felt sorry for the owners and staff as it was the start of the virus scare and the hotel was quiet with people cancelling their reservations.

We would definitely recommend this hotel for its location and friendliness. We intend to return when everything settles down and the weather warmer.

Thank you to all the staff and hope you can ride out these uncertain times.

Three aspects are essential to my stay in a hotel cleanliness, service and good quality food. The crescent scores five stars on all. From the moment we entered service was excellent, breakfast was absolutely delicious served by exceptional staff who took a genuine interest in us. All the hotel is extremely clean.

The hotel is in a good central position we stayed Thursday to Sunday and was able to park on the road the first day, afterwards the road was full so we parked opposite in the Palm Court car park at £10 a night which was suitable.

The hotel has real character and is like going back in time in a good way with quality décor and rooms. The only fault I could find was dated room, but we realise how much money a building of this size must coast to run and I feel sure that in time these will be refurbished.

We would highly recommend and would have no hesitation in staying again.

We booked last minute in these strange times.
Top tip phone and book direct for the best rate
We mentioned having been semi sheilding as we wanted an out of the way table for dinner.
From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have been more welcoming or keener to ensure we felt safe and enjoyed or stay. The room was large warm and comfortable plenty of hot water and my husband was impressed with the efficiency for a hotel shower
The food was lovely
Clean and well positioned
Hope to return after lockdown

We stayed at the Crescent Hotel for five nights recently. We were initially put into a rather nasty bedroom at the back, overlooking a busy road and a car park, but the extremely helpful staff made great efforts and after two nights moved us at no extra charge to an extraordinary room on the top floor, with lots of light, a vast and comfortable bed, and a silve colour scheme that was highly entertaining. Throughout, they could not have been more friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, however, the breakfast seems stuck in the 1950s: sad toast, minipack cereals, tinned fruit and the cooked breakfast inept and cooked in cheap oil. They did buy in some plain yoghurt and oat milk when we asked for them, but overall it's a pity that this element let down what was otherwise a wonderful stay. The hotel is beautifully situated beside a park, only five minutes' scamper from the beach, so I was able to run down for a swim every morning which was a great way to start the day. If only I'd been able to return to a better breakfast!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review us and we are glad that, overall, you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your breakfast-for many people it is a highlight of their stay! We do our best to accommodate requests for specific breakfast items and somewhat disagree that we are stuck in the 1950s ...fresh fruit salad, fresh fruit, and stewed fruit compote are all available every day alongside the tinned orange and grapefruit segments which we supply as they are popular with many guests. We also disagree that the breakfast is cooked ineptly in cheap oil, but we thank you for your comments.

Firstly I want to say the staff are outstanding Nadine and Richard every hotel would love these two. Absolutely excellent customer service we just could not fault it.
And the food was amazing. The hotel was clean and warm.

But for us the room was disappointing. Very dark and not at all relaxing or uplifting.
The bed was comfortable and room was warm but little things could be changed.
There was no headboard but the wall had a gap where the headboard should have been.
The room had a nice desk but no lamp at the seating end of the room.or by the desk. The room had heavy dark red velvet curtains and dark red ceiling lampshades . It wasn’t a very inspiring room and when we lifted the net curtains up we could not believe the view!!! It was at the back of the hotel where all the kitchen units and metal tanks were it was dreadful really depressing. Also guests should be able to turn radiators on and off when needed. We should not have to ask for an extra heater as the rads are not on during the night.
And please don’t put cheap black plastic hangers only 6 of them . They are so thin the coat nearly bent it in half.
We would love to stay again but not in a dark dingy room. And we also needed a room with a walk in shower as my husband has a bad knee unable to step up into a bath..
We travel most months for a few days break and a lot of guests now prefer walk in showers after chatting at previous hotels we have stayed at.

A big thank you again to the fabulous staff

Hello Mrs Langham, Thank you for your informative review, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay though not your room so much :(. We have taken your helpful points onboard. With regard to the position of your room, we have limited rooms with walk in showers thus why this one was allocated to you, Our Belvoir Suite which was unfortunately not available during your visit would have suited you both perfectly and very much hope to welcome you back to try it out! Your were an absolute delight to have staying with us and please don't forget my autographed version ;) Kindest Regards All of us at The Crescent

My husband and I and our little dog have just returned from spending the bank holiday weekend at this lovely hotel. Situated within the town center and a short walk to the beach. We would say this hotel is in an ideal location.

The service we received was excellent and the breakfast was of an exceptional high standard, and very relaxed in the lovely dinning room. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.

We stayed in room 26, which we understand is one of the dog friendly rooms. A perfectly quiet room if you are wanting a good nights sleep. Although the hotel itself is very quiet throughout the night.

There is no parking at the hotel. However, we understand the hotel can give council parking permits for a small charge for on street parking. We parked in the secure overnight car park opposite the hotel at a very low cost. The car park is locked from late night to early morning so very secure.

We will not hesitate to book again in the future at this hotel. We will also be recommending this hotel.

Thank you for a most lovely time and also for making such a fuss of our little dog, Amy.

We are situated on the Crescent Gardens which has Pay and Display parking bays.
