Park Manor Hotel emerges as a favorite among guests for its professional, amiable staff and commendable service. The accommodations are praised for their cleanliness and comfort, with a nod to the well-maintained rooms; however, opinions are split on room size and modernity.
The hotel's amenities, including a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and steam room, are often lauded, as is its prime location close to local attractions. While exuding a traditional British charm, the hotel is also regarded as offering good value despite some remarks about inconsistent room quality.

Detailed Reviews
I stayed at the Park Manor in September 2020, with family on a birthday trip for 3 nights.
Obviously at this point Covid-19 was still very prevalent and all precautions were made clear as soon as you approach the hotel i.e. sanitiser widely available, face masks to be worn in all communal areas etc.
The reception and restaurant staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
During our stay the cleaners weren't making daily visits to rooms in order to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.
However if you needed any clean towels, toilet rolls or anything really you just ask at reception and they sort it straight away.
We had breakfast each morning and again this was a great service, there's plenty to pick from and it's delivered quickly.
The rooms themselves while not massive were perfect for our stay and spotlessly clean.
They had the usual TV (small screen in my room but hardly used it anyway) and a good tea/coffee making set up.
The sink was in the main room and the bathroom contained just the toilet and shower but this setup works fine and I cannot fault any parts of the room.
My only minor comment on this hotel is that some of the walls are slightly thin, this isn't a major concern as it is not the kind of hotel that attracts stag/hen parties or generally noisy people but I could hear a fair bit from next door.
Finally location wise within Scarborough this is fantastic, it's across the road from Peasholm Park and 5 minutes walk to the North Bay beach (from where of course it's a 20/30 minute walk to the South Bay, or you can go through town).
Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and would happily stay here again.

We booked this holiday whilst in lockdown by email with Alison who was working from home, and managed to fulfil all our requirements. On arrival we were greeted with a big smile from Alison behind
her screen, we sanitized our hands picked up our keys, the room was spotlessly clean tea and coffee
making facilities, and comfy beds and fluffy white towels. On entering the dining room we were allocated a table for the weekend, the breakfasts were delicious and hot, no self service the waiters and waitresses brought fruit, fruit juice, porridge, cereal toast tea or coffee nothing was too much trouble.
The evening dinner menu was varied and the food excellent. It has a very pleasant lounge and bar which was open. We hope to return when the pool opens.

We hired the Park Manor Hotel for the wake of my dear Nana who sadly passed last week. It had been suggested to us by our florist who has previously attended a wake here. The Hotel staff were very friendly right from booking. They explained the choices that were available, showed us the room where we would be, could answer all questions we had and were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the bar staff, waiters or hotel receptionists that we spoke to throughout the process. The food that was served was also very good. There was a great array of fresh sandwiches, sausage rolls (presumably home-made), chicken goujons, quiche, salad as well as some lovely biscuits and cream scones. The food was delicious and was plentiful so everybody got plenty of it. We paid in advance, but got a phonecall to say that we had left £10 too much with them, and so they kindly returned it on the day we arrived (which some wouldn't have been so honest!) The value for the service and the food we received was very excellent and I am sure some of our family and friends will be coming back to stay again.
The whole experience was wonderful and helped to make a terrible day much easier for us all.

+1
We booked a double room here because we were attending a concert at the Open Air Theatre which was subsequently cancelled. Despite this, we thought it would be nice to have a night away so kept the room booking. First impressions were good both for its proximity to the Theatre (10 minute walk). The hotel outside looked bigger than we initially thought and appeared well kept and offered free parking. The staff were friendly when we checked in and we were told our room was on the second floor. What a disappointment the room was. For £128.00 we were expecting much better! It was a tiny room which was shabby, had botched up woodwork and peeling wallpaper. There was a rusting radiator on the wall which was full of dust and had a grey hair stuck to it. Mounted on the wall was a tiny tv, the remote for which was splattered with specks of paint. We had to unplug the tv at the mains when we went to bed because it had a blue and red flashing light which shone directly onto the pillows. The wardrobe was some MDF concoction which looked to be from the 80’s. Everything looked tatty and felt grimy. There was a kettle and tray with pods of milk, tea and coffee and one packet of biscuits (it would have been nice to have a packet each considering it was a double room and the price). There were two tatty chairs in the room covered with awful brown nylon covers. There was a separate toilet and bathroom. The bathroom was extremely basic with one small bar of soap for two people to share and some wall mounted shower gel thing and I am glad I took my own toiletries. The shower was very hard to operate and when we did manage to get it going it made an awful screeching noise. The view from the window was over the roof and air condenser unit and neighbouring gardens. We were told breakfast was served up to 8.30 am the following morning which we thought was very early. When we went into the dining room at 8.15 there were only two other guests. I asked the waiter why they were so quiet to be told oh everyone else will probably make their way down around 9am – strange we were told breakfast was until 8.30 so got up early when we didn’t have to. Even though the dining room was empty we were ushered to a table in the corner out of the way. All the table legs were all chipped and had dated vinyl/plastic table cloths, underneath our table there were stains on the actual table. Breakfast was OK but as we expected and the bare minimum, 1 sausage, 1 slice of bacon etc. The only reason we didn’t complain about the room was because we were only there for the one night (thank heavens). The only positives I can say about Park Manor is its location and friendly staff. It is definitely overpriced and extremely tatty.

I am very sorry that your experience was not upto our usual high standards, and I would like to apologise on behalf of the team.

The hotel exterior is very well presented. Walking into the reception we were greeted pleasantly, due to the pandemic they had a touch less sanitiser just after the entrance to the reception, which is a nice touch.
After receiving our key we went in the lift to our room.
The room was in my opinion small dull and disappointing (Room No.1). Pictures make out to be a lot nicer than it is definitely not worth the money we spent on it £(110 per night) for that price I expected breakfast to be included. I was a bit taken back when in the shower the soap dispenser was what looked like pubic hair stuck on it 🤢. It made me think that the cleaner had used the same washing towel to clean the bath to also clean the soap dispenser, and also thought what else have they cleaned using the same bath.
The breakfast was moderately priced at £9.50 per head , and was good, the social distancing was very well managed by having table allocation.
Advertising free WiFi in the room we were situated we could not even log on due to the signal strength was very weak, a WiFi signal booster would perhaps would be the way to go.
Overall for the price I expected much better amenities. My wife did notice the cliental were of older age range, but for the hotel to survive in the future, I would consider to show the room upon booking what your paying for also reduce their price to attract more younger cliental. As now days you can stay in a Hilton hotel for lesser price and with better amenities.

I visited Park Manor in July anticipating a relaxing stay on what appeared from the exterior photos and some of the reviews a lovely Hotel. On arrival the staff were friendly and told me where my room was on the second floor, there is a lift but I didn't use it.
The walk to the room was a little claustrophobic with narrow corridors dark Mahogany coloured doors and stick on door numbers that look like they had been bought from the local DIY shop. The door opens to a tiny room that I couldn't have got the cat in never mind swing it and looks like it has been dragged kicking and screaming from 1976.
Old furniture, chairs that had a brown elasticated cover over an even older chair didn't give a good feeling as to what else I may find, I wasn't disappointed!
A shower that screamed like a poor opera singer and the single 10p bar of soap topped the bathroom. Peeling wallpaper, rusty radiator grubby paintwork and general feeling that the room doesn't get a good clean gave the bedroom a thumbs down. The TV is tiny and not sure what purpose it served other than to try and keep you awake with the blue light, anyway it got switched off at the mains.
The staff at breakfast were helpful and friendly but the breakfast itself was as expected, tasty but not a lot of it, 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, spoon full of beans, black pudding toast etc. There are cereals on offer but i didn't take it up.
Plastic table covers, grubby tables underneath and being rather expensive certainly didn't help change my view of a hotel that has a fantastic location needs a good refurb to bring it up to date. I wont be making a return visit

Not family friendly, more of a retirement couples hotel, the bar area very quiet so felt uncomfortable in there. Staff looked miserable, just did not feel a warm place. The rooms were outdated, beds felt old, no locks on the bathroom doors. Room felt and smelt damp. We had 2 rooms for our family and the double was so small, couldn't move in there. The only good thing about this hotel was the swimming pool and the breakfast was nice too but a bit stingy with the one rashen of bacon and one small sausage! For the price we paid £500 for 2 nights, it was shocking and overpriced! Location far from south pier where all the attractions are, we got taxis which was about £5.50 each way into the main Scarborough town, as parking was a nightmare, not only at the hotel which had a small car park but in Scarborough itself unless you got there really early. Loved Scarborough though but didn't like the hotel or hotel atmoshphere!

Just spent 4 fabulous days at the Park Manor, have stayed previously and great to see that the very high standards have been maintained, even in these difficult times for hotels. We decided to treat ourselves to a suite and we were not disappointed, beautifully decorated with fabulous facilities throughout especially the bathroom. Food once again amazing and so wonderfully served by enthusiastic staff who are obviously enjoying what they are doing as this came across with each and every staff member that we came in contact with. Dinner was superb both nights that we ate in the hotel and breakfasts each morning was wonderful, well cooked piping hot and a great choice. Obvious signs of great staff training in relation to Covid 19 and everything so well planned out keeping us and their staff extremely safe. An absolute delight to have spent our Staycation at Park Manor, WELL DONE EVERYONE

We arrived early so my husband went in to explain we were early ( very early) and that we were checking in later and asked if it was possible to park the car. I didn't expect to be told it was ok, but they were more than happy for us to do this, presumably because the car park wasn't busy. We had a short walk (10 minutes) down to the beach, which we were really pleased with how close it was. We decided to get on an open top bus to the busier part of Scarborough, we paid for an all day ticket allowing us to go back and forth as many times as we liked up until 9pm. Good value for money. Check in time, was an easy and friendly process. We had two rooms a single and a double front, we did request the rooms to be close together however given the size of the building the fact that they weren't wasn't a problem. The single room was very small but was ok for one person however my son said he couldn't use the shower as its far to small. He said the bed was very comfortable though. The double room well for myself I feel we hit the jackpot with the view, we were lucky enough to be given the corner room on the top floor. Yes the room was a little outdated but kinda liked that as it gave us more of a feeling that its a family run hotel rather than part of a large chain hotel. Both rooms were very clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The bar area was fairly large but not busy, so it was very nice to sit and relax in, the dining room again was large and looked very clean, however felt the tables were a little close together. We didn't use the pool as we didn't have time, but it did look lovely, we didn't see the games room so I can't comment there. The outside of the building is very clean and well maintained so was a lovely place to sit in the evening and early morning. Even though our stay was a very short one, our overall impression of Park Manor is a very good one, every member of staff that we saw spoke to us and made us feel welcome and comfortable there. So thank you for a lovely stay, and we'll certainly book again if we are up exploring the Scarborough area again

Covid restrictions in place. Cleaning supposed to be great
That didn't stop us finding hair on the floor, wrappers under the bed and dirty windows. Couldn't use disabled parking as non disabled users did . Mentioned that to front desk but they did nothing. Very unfriendly front of house staff and was made to feel like Oliver when I asked for a few more milks! No bed making despite the fact there seemed to be a lot of cleaners.Food very expensive and rooms that were double were like cells, with virtually no space. Furniture 1970s melamine and huge amounts of full and dated woodchip paper. I think these are difficult times for all,but if the Park Manor doesn't up its game, then it's clients will eventually realize that in spite of its position in Scarborough, there are plenty of other hotels offering far,far better conditions and service, for much less money. Probably the most expensive hotel I've stayed at in Scarborough for such poor value.
