From stepping in through the front door you can tell the owner has taken time to take this historical building back to what it would have looked like in the Edwardian period. From the flooring to the walls & furniture. The room was lovely with wood paneling views over the crescents park land. The house keeping staff do a lovely job in keeping the room looking there best. The breakfast was very nice well priced for what you got a lovely buffet table with fresh fruit salad Greek yogurt my favorite wake me up. Lots of other goodies to have before looking at the breakfast menu the cooked breakfast is very nice. I was told that the sausage is gluten free which I'll be passing this onto my friends. The young lady who served me was very nice well turned out (smartly dressed). Breakfast is from 8am until 11.30am which is good as when on holiday I don't like to be up before 9am. The bar do a good number of cocktails which I can't remember any of the numbers after having a few of them. The evening bar menu is well priced in my view & is very nice. I liked how each dish came out on a different plate or dish or wooden board. I know the mix grill is for two people but I love my meat. Let's just say I was well feed & everything was cooked very well just to how I like it.…
There is no Doubt the hotel is in real need of modernization But look past that and it's alright, I didn't find any dirt or anything generally clean so can't complain there, we didn't eat here so can't write much into that, But the staff was nice the lady on the reception was welcoming, Yeah no real on site parking but there's plenty around one a minute away for £8 for 24hrs, If you're unfortunate enough to be coming to Scarborough then this hotel isn't all bad just expect your great grandma's living room
We stayed for one night at The Central, booking a room at short notice. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Overall the room was really good, perhaps needing a little updating, which I think the hotel is in the process of doing. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable and we had an excellent nights sleep. We decided to try the breakfast, which was worth the money. All of the staff were lovely, especially the really welcoming lady behind the desk and the manager. Overall I would recommend the hotel, the location is excellent 5 mins walk from the town centre. We would definitely stay again.
This was a last minute booking spur of the moment type of thing. Car satnav took us to the Cresent where the hotel is situated but you have to look out for it. Parking is limited if you haven't booked the hotel parking but we found a space on the Cresent no problem close to the hotel. Booking in was very simple. Room was above expectation. It was clean, tidy and very big. Bathroom was excellent. Only issue was bed length was short for me as I'm 6'3" but bed was very comfy. Hotel facilities great. Bar area modern food great and staff very friendly.
We stayed in Room 221 which was huge! The bed was very comfortable, but the duvet felt very thin, the bathroom was very tired looking. There is tea coffee etc In The room, but no bottled water this time like our first visit, also no breakfast included either. We were woken early when the extractor fan was turned on in the kitchen, as it was extremely noisy!! As it was just outside our window.
