The Deeside Inn is an authentic Highland inn situated in the picturesque village of Ballater in the heart of Royal Deeside - a few miles away from Balmoral Castle, the Queen's summer home. Only an hour's drive from Aberdeen, this part of the Cairngorms is world famous for its stunning scenery and offers some of the best walking, climbing, mountain biking, river fishing and wildlife watching in Scotland. We can arrange a huge range of outdoor activities on behalf of our guests. The inn itself is welcoming and cosy with open log fires, wooden floors, tartan carpets, comfy tweed furnishings and well appointed comfortable bedrooms. In our Ceilidh bar we offer over 40 Scottish single malts and hearty Highland dishes, and also host fantastic traditional music sessions every other Wednesday. In our brasserie style restaurant we offer an a la carte and grill menu, which feature game, salmon and Highland beef.

Simply rubbish. Used to enjoy visiting this hotel but its really fallen by the way side.. Don't know who the so called new management are as they really do need to up their game: Not a full menu available and the food we did get was tasteless, bland, small portions and tepid.

Thank you for the feedback on your visit to us over the festive period . As you can imagine the festive period is a busy time for us and our suppliers and do occasionally have insufficient items that do cause disruption to service. if we have a shortfall on some items we do try to purchase locally if they have the required items in stock. We have many wonderful flavors of ice cream but vanilla is one we do not have. Good news is the music system in the bar is now fixed, and currently working on a new menu to be ready for spring along with a wide variety of Scottish gins and whiskys. I would like to add that we arrived on the first week of December and as such limited changes have been made and hope that you revisit once our changes and ideas for continued success are implemented.

Just spent three nights at the hotel. An older Highland style hotel. Room clean and tidy with comfortable bed, although décor could do with updating. Staff were friendly and efficient. Evening meals in the lounge bar were excellent. A very relaxing stay.

I think so, although I was not impressed with the room, and only made a cursory glance. It would be worthwhile contacting them,-the staff were most helpful.
