Stayed for 2 days & booked the Autumn Break package which included meals, cocktail with dinner, bathrobes & hospitality tray. I think our room was one of the larger ones because of this. Bed was comfortable & room was clean and nicely furnished. We were thankful that a fan was included as there is no air conditioning (it is an older hotel) and it was especially hot. Food wise, no complaints. Evening meals were particularly good and staff were happy to exchange our gin cocktail for wine. Staff in general were very pleasant and helpful . My husband is still raving about the steak pie. Breakfast on our first morning was busy (coach party in) but well organised. Great sausages. To be honest I only have a few small issues. The coffee served at breakfast was really awful. I know it can be difficult when serving a large number but perhaps a coffee machine would be a wise investment. Needless to say on our 2nd morning we avoided the coffee and stayed with the orange juice (which was nicely chilled ). Also we appreciated the chilled water in the room but unfortunately when we wanted to drink it, it was room temp.Plus some basic toiletries in the bathroom would have been nice. Would we stay here again. Most definitely. Easy parking, friendly staff, great food and good value for money. What's not to love.

Spent 2 nights here in order to meet up with local family members for a special occasion, we requested a double room and were given a twin room, the first room allocated to us was very small and rather dark and tired, one of the beds was very saggy in the middle and the shower pressure was very low , and bedside lights were not working, the reception team quickly sorted out another room when we asked , the second room was still a twin room but larger and much more pleasant. Unfortunately the small lift was not working. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, breakfast was an adequate multiple choice buffet, the bar area is open and airy , and there is seating outside , we would recommend this hotel to friends and have stayed there before about 3 years ago

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your review and please accept our apologies for the shortfall you experienced with the first room which was allocated to you, we are going through a period of refurbishment and we have noted your feedback. I was, however, pleased to read that our Reception team managed to rectify this for you and we hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Booked in for a night we found a very tired room where cleanliness was certainly not a priority we switched on the bedside lights and could follow the cobweb up to the ceiling and into the corner, don't think the vacuum had actually went over the carpets. Dust and bits of paper in drawers . Also the toilet could do with some bleach as there were lots of brown water marks.

Where do I start? We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights with my family (31/8/21-2/9/21) From the reception staff to restaurant staff were fantastic very polite and well mannered do have a lot of young staff however they make this hotel welcoming the food we’re excellent top marks to the chef/chefs I stayed in a family room by far really good. The hotel room was clean although we did have some problems, it was solved by the managers. The local is excellent as it's in city centre and everything is near by. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you for a great staycation we've had. We will definitely return again.
