Excluding the fact that both rooms we stayed in were falling apart, the ceilings were falling down, the windows were broken and the entire building absolutely stunk.!, my partner and I ordered a takeaway (paid for on just eat) and when walking down to collect, found the assistant manager 'zuzanna' (who is without a doubt the rudest person I have ever met) and manager 'james' had stolen it for themselves and refused to return it. We tried to resolve this with the other manager but were dismissed and ignored. The whole place is run as an opportunity for the assistant manager and her friends to close early (every night) and have a piss up downstairs in the bar until early hours of the morning, playing loud music without any consideration for guests. The whole place is filthy and I strongly suggest avoiding it at all costs.!

A nice bar with friendly staff. The drinks prices are high. I pay less in London. Over £5 a pint and £3 for a draught diet coke. As I'm on dry January l have become an expert on diet drinks. The most l have paid for a 16oz diet coke was £2.65 till today.

OK, so upon arrival the building looked like it needed refurbishment, and it did. The car park is like delving into the depths of the earth. I had to change rooms as my window was broken and there was a large gao/hole in the ceiling. 2nd room was small, in need of serious redecoration (there was a notice saying refurbishment was taking place), I had to ask for loo roll as there was none. The bar is very nice with a good selection of beers reasonably priced and the food (I had a burger) was excellent. I paid £45 for bed only, breakfast was available but I couldn't gain access to the breakfast room at 7-30, so left. Staff are very friendly & helpful. A real shame as I had high hopes. My suggestion, spend a little more elsewhere.

After travelling 270 miles we arrived to The Station Hotel. Our money was taken and Room 8 key given. Sat having a pint and need to use facilities I decided to use the room. What an absolute filth pit. In a nut shell no vent on wall, loft access left open, masking tape on lamp shades, bathroom ceiling coming unstuck, window sealed with cardboard, one window pane replaced with plastic sheet and gaffer taped into place, room very dirty, so dirty in fact I did not use the facilities. I went back to reception to see young girl who had given me key who said she was aware of the state of the room and would speak to her manager. The chef came out and only offered a card refund, and said they have 2 more rooms the same - not helpful after 270 miles. The "Manager" then arrived back and his first thought was to wipe the bar down. He came over and asked what was the issue with the room. Card refunded but Ipswich was fully booked due to 3 big events. We had an absolute nightmare getting a room but eventually sorted in time to get to our event. The Station in Ipswich is a Greene King owned "Hotel" I will be calling them direct to register my disappointment and look forward to their response........

We booked as we were seeing Ed sheeran so we booked last year as it looked nice on their website. Arrived, yes it is a semi reasonable price for the busyness of the place, however, there were cobwebs in all over the room, dodgy window, plugs that crackled with cracks in when you used them, paper hanging off the bathroom wall, door knob falling off, marks above the heater that looked very dodgy, threadbear carpets, the list goes on! It’s a shame because the people running it where really nice in the morning and the pub section looks lovely and the breakfast was nice. But for Ed I wouldn’t have stayed here and would’ve left, needs a massive refurb and a good clean.
