Perched on a hillside, Scandic Holmenkollen Park offers guests a serene and stylish retreat with breathtaking views and a welcoming atmosphere. While many travelers appreciate the hotel's cleanliness and the excellent breakfast, some feel it lacks value, citing overpriced services and costly parking. The rooms are celebrated for their tidiness and vistas, though some guests have experienced maintenance and service shortcomings.
Service quality is inconsistent, with both commendation for friendliness and criticism for slow responses. Its location is a hit for those seeking proximity to ski areas, despite some accessibility issues.

Detailed Reviews
We had 2 rooms for five nights over the Christmas holidays.
Amazing location very close to the T Line and ski area.
It’s such a shame that the restaurant offers such a limited menu for lunch and dinner. The only thing they had in the menu for vegetarians was a burger.
Housekeeping service was really bad, they were understaffed and unable to clean the rooms.
You never saw a manager anywhere, the place is clearly mismanaged.
We complained like 3 times about our rooms not being serviced.
The hotel has such an amazing location that you clearly feel like they don’t care if the customers are happy or not. They are running a full occupancy and don’t care.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here for the Holmenkollen Ski Festival. The hotel was very busy and brought their A game in that every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Our 2-story room was on the 5th floor and included views out the back of the woods and the panoramic vista out front. The hotel, outside of the common areas, was surprisingly quiet, given the amount of guests staying there as well as the festive sounds coming from the ski area. Overall a great stay! Tip: from the hotel, you can walk either uphill or downhill to access the ski viewing areas. If you are going uphill, exit the hotel through the end of the rooms corridor on the East side of the hotel. The spiral staircase will take you down to what looks like a staff parking lot; It will save you some steps.

Greetings and thank you so much for your review following your stay with us here at the very top of Oslo. I am so delighted to read your review as it seems you experienced the best of our hotel during a very busy period. I know for sure everyone in the staff did their absolute best and I am pleased to see that the dedication and hard work paid off in the service. Events like Holmenkollen Ski festival are the kind of events we live for up here and they really do bring out the best in the hotel and the surrounding area. While I am glad that you suggested a shortcut for future people staying here, I do have to correct it and advise against using that spiral staircase as this is an emergency exit in case of evacuation and not meant for regular use. Thank you so much again for your review and I hope you visit us again in the future.

Nice location with view in remote distance (30 mins) from city center. Large and spacious rooms and facilities. Northern Europe most spacious hotel gym. Finally received cola zero in shop again. Nice, comfortable and spacious rooms newly renovated.
Personel does not assist with pool booking reservations. This is extremely with kids as only allowed first two hours each day. Price and opening hours differs at Xmas with no info on hotel webside unfortunately. You can not call the spa as the phone is un-manned although no info about this. Pool personel insists showing all guests pool area and wet area without shoes before entering the wardrobe to change clothes. This is to present the pool and spa area physically to all guests… although other guests que up in line. For us with previous visits, this is a joke. We experiences full reservations in kids hours one day although «empty» pool, and reserved next day only to experience «full» pool with what seemed «unlimited» chances to enter.
Reception called back during rush hours 11-12 on my unaswered call which was Nice 😀
We stayed 28.12-30.12.22

checking in for our group of 7 people was already where the challenges started. I had ordered 3 rooms, where 1 room was for 3 people. Receiving our room keys, we where not told where to go to find our rooms. And I can promise you that find your room is not as straight forward as you think. Going back to the reception desk and asking for directions. I was met with the attitude I would certainly not describe as customer focused. Finally we made it to the rooms, and by all surprise, there where no 3 bed, and no possibility to make this into a 3 bedroom room. Heading back down to the reception, asking what happened, the only reply I got was eye rolling. After a lot of back and forward, proving I asked for a 3 persons bedroom, with confirmation of age, we got a new room. Going down for Dinner, we where met once again with a not professional attitude, we received the wrong food, and the rudeness to say that this was what was ordered. I can promise you that a soup is not the same as mussels. At the end of the dinner, trying to pay, was again a challenge. no staff was available. Going to the hotel reception, asking for help to pay for the restaurant, we where told that that is not their responsibility, they could not even call anybody to help. Walking around in the restaurant for 5 minutes we found someone to pay to. They asked if we where satisfied with the food, we shared that we got the wrong food, and they ignored fully. The day after we had a large event with approximately 100 people. Also that was not a pleasant, the event was forced to start with a 1 hour delay, due to the hotel staff not setting up on time, food arrived late on the table and was not properly cooked, the staff was rude, unorganized, not well trained, unprofessional. The tables where set with bottle of wine and softdrinks, but no openers for the corked glass bottles softdrinks. Cleaning of the table, the staff dropped a knife with sauce on my daughters silk gala dress. I asked to get sparling water and a slice of lemon, the staff was more focused on blaming the poor waitress who dropped the knife. It took over 15 minutes to get sparkling water with a piece of lemon. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and walking through the corridors, we where met with the same trolley containing empty glasses and empty bottles, and dirty plates. I did not know it was that difficult to clean up. I can not recommend this hotel any more, and that is a shame, certainly not for that price per night.

As returning guests we really like the atmosphere of the hotel during wintertime, especially around New Year's Eve. The hotel has been renovated and the two open seating areas on two levels in the lobby are very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting around the fire places. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but came to their limits as cleaning personal was short due to sickness and some rooms could not been cleaned as expected from guests. We stayed in a superior room with kingsize bed, overlooking the fjord and the winter scenery which was wonderful. There could be more space/ hooks in the room to hang jackets and coats.

Getting to the hotel
It is a 19 minute drive from the hotel to the center, the parking that the hotel owns costs NOK but there is a free parking lot 1 minute walk to the hotel and was 48h free. The Metro station is also a 18 minute walk from the hotel.
The food.
The morning buffet was pretty good, the cafeterias view offers a waterfall that also lights in the night. There is a supermarket store relatively close to the hotel called Coop Prix.
Staff
The staff was extremely nice and helpful and could speak English. They were also very friendly and if lucky enough you’ll end up having a chat with one of them.
Room
It might be a bit confusing trying to find the rooms, but when you get there the view is amazing offering a view over all of Oslo up on a hill. The TV offers chrome cast for YouTube and Netflix, but if you want to you can watch Norwegian and Swedish TV. The beds are comfortable and cozy and the air conditioning is also great. A downside is that if you book for a family room, you can’t open the balcony.
Also 1 problem I experienced was that the Wi-Fi did not work for 2 hours and I did not know why.
What to do in the hotel
There is a Gym, Spa and a indoor pool. But these were closed during summer and opens in September sadly.

Overall, I was disappointed with my stay here as I had been looking forward to a relaxing night with my wife away from home. The location & ammenities are very nice & comfortable, but there are better value for money alternatives for a night or weekend away from everyday life. Additionally, the service provided was average at best and not what you would expect from a hotel in this price range (even considering the location). Checkin & check out was uncomplicated, but we had to ask specifically for information about the hotel, breakfast times, using the facilities, etc. & this is normally provided by Reception automatically. The wait staff at the restaurant & bar seemed understaffed & needed more training. Food & drink was overpriced when considering the quality and the variety on the menus were very limited. The breakfast buffet was good - a bit better quality of food even if the same Scandinavian menu one finds at other hotels. The spa seems to be run separately from the hotel and is quite expensive, as well as only offering a limited selection of services.
I don’t think I will stay again as there are better alternatives to choose from, even though they aren’t located with such a great view of Oslo.

At arrival the A/C = heating did not work. We needed to change room which took 1,5 h. The new romm was prepared for 4 guests but we were only two. The sofa had to be redone into a sofa. Took another 30 min. The room was not clean (especially bed and bathroom). Cleaning of the rooms was done by sweeping dust and other remaining things in front of the hotel room on the carpet. There it was lying and not hoovered away until we left the hotel after 3 days. Nasty... Breakfast is good if you stay one to two days but gets quickly boring after that. Sauna and swimming pool does cost extra. Be prepared (allthough the German website shows it was free of charge. I did not had to pay after showing the German website). Positives: the location is great, the service personel friendly, and the view on the fjord just amazing.

We stayed here for the Biathlon Ski festival 14th - 21 March 2023
The hotel looks fantastic from outside but a lot of things could be improved upon.
1. Menu in the Restaurant is Very limited just 4 main courses and limited deserts 3 in total we stayed for 7 days and had to go out to Oslo to eat as selection was the same every day in the hotels expensive restaurant
The buffet breakfast look very good it was because it was laid out doubled therefore again limited selection for a 4* hotel i was expecting better.
Considering it has 4 * you are required to pay NK300 thats €30 per person to swim in a small pool sit in a sauna or steam room (which was cold the night we went) we think this should be included in the cost of your stay. considering we paid NK 14,944 (€1,316 its a rip off
The only positive factor was the location to the Biathlon arena just a short walk away.
In our opinion not worth of 4 * maybe 3 a a push.

Dear Mi Kempson, Thank you so much for your feedback. How unfortunate that your stay was not up to your standards, and by the sounds of it the menu in the restaurant was a likely culprit as it did not have enough variety. We will be sure to follow up on that feedback internally. The price at our hotel is dynamic and changes based on a number of reasons. Staying here during the Biathlon does affect that of course, and prices naturally will be somewhat higher then normal. There is unfortunately not much we can do about that as it is standard supply and demand. I am however grateful for all your feedback and if there is anything we want, it is to get even better. Hopefully this will help us do exactly that! I do hope you come back and visit us again in the future! Have a fantastic day.

Nothing to fault here at all!!!
From the minute of booking, the great experience began.
Email correspondence with the hotel regarding dietary requirements were dealt with efficiently.
We requested a room with a nice view overlooking Oslo & the Fjord, and the team made this happen.
The architecture and style/decor of the building is second to none.
Everything clean and tidy etc.
Staff were very welcoming and informative on arrival.
Our room had everything we needed, it was spotless, nothing out of place.
The breakfast was delicious. There was such a vast choice of items, and even separate counters for specific dietary requirements. Food was fresh, hot and there was plenty of it. On our first morning, there was a conference group in the hotel. The breakfast hall was busy, but it in no way felt overcrowded, there was plenty of seating available. The staff were working hard and efficiently to keep everything clean and tidy, as well and making sure that all the food was topped up, we did not see anything running out, or even remotely low.
We sat in the bar in the evenings and had drinks, it was a great atmosphere.
Car parking underneath the hotel was a great touch, the price is capped at NOK 210 for 24H. We used it for the duration of our stay, and also used the electric car charging facilities.
Would definitely recommend, and if we’re in the area again, we know where we’ll be staying.
