Nestled in the heart of the city, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Oslo garners praise for its prime location and stunning rooftop bar. While guests enjoy the variety of dining options, concerns over minibar charges and pool accessibility are noted. The hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, with sparkling rooms and amenities. Service quality, however, receives mixed reviews, ranging from commendable to disappointing.
The vicinity to the central station is a boon for many, despite some safety concerns. Views from the rooms are a highlight, though their condition varies. Opinions on value are divided, with breakfast deemed reasonable but some extras perceived as costly.

‘Ello chaps! Radisson Blu Plaza is located in the heart of downtown Oslo, next to the Central train station. Rooms offer splendid views of the city, and is one of the most accessible hotels to get around due to its proximity to trains and buses. The rooms are very clean and well equipped by European standards, featuring multiple plugs for electric plug ins. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Splurged a little bit by adding the breakfast buffet to the cost of the room and I’m glad I did. The spread was quite pleasing, even to American standards, with a mix of breads, scrambled eggs, breakfast meats (sausage, bacon, etc), cheeses, fruits, made to order omelets and waffles, and more. You’ll find Radisson Blu Plaza may be a bit more price wise compared to other hotels, but you absolutely get what you pay for. I give this hotel five stars out of five.

Stayed for 2 nights at room 3124 on new year’s eve 2020, breakfast included. Great view of Oslofjord. The room and king-size bed is neat and clean, but the shower and bathroom tiles needs proper cleaning.
Due to Covid restrictions, a huge part of the lobby, restaurant & bars and even the swimming pool is off limits for all the guests.
On the night of the new year a female security knocked at my door, asking if I’ve seen a “stranger” on the hallway. And it bothers me a lot, you need electronic key card to have access to the lift. It just doesn’t add up.
Breakfast buffet at Gaio on the 1st floor. Face mask is mandatory and guests is advised to use disposable gloves when picking up food.
Great food and good service, but sadly some of the plates were dirty and not properly washed. Most of the plate I picked is stained with scrambled egg. I brought this attention to one of the staff and they immediately responded and removed a pile of plates from the shelf, but damage has been done. Definitely not worth the money.

I booked this hotel for a night but stayed for two nights cos we were not able to go to Tromso as we came from UK and were not allowed to tour unless we had ten days quarantine. We were lucky to book at this hotel cos the receptionists were very helpful and accommodating (especially Matilda). We were on quarantine but did not feel the pressure. We enjoyed our time inside the room with food and drink served/delivered right at the door. Breakfast was so appetising and it took us til lunch to finish. We inly had to order supper thru Foodora.no app. The room on 9th floor was so clean with lovely (smell) toiletries and plenty of towels. The corridor is clean and quiet. We had a restful night. I recommend this hotel if you come to Oslo, 30-34 mins from Oslo airport. Plenty of shops around and a bar at 34th floor of the hotel. They also have plenty of elevators A to H that is operated by the key card so it is safe. The pool and fitness gym are closed due to Covid and in general, this hotel looks safe from Covid with its hight tech sanitising spray on all corners. We’d love to stay again here if ever we get a chance to come back to Oslo.

The location is excellent, several minute walk to the city centre, bus and train stations. Also a very good view of the city from the 27th floor.
I've been here many times in the past and have always paid extra for a premium room. I was a repeat customer as I enjoyed the service and the facilities.
But now after a two night stay, I will be hesitant in booking a room here, for the following reasons :
1) No Minibar
2) Lack of TV channels
3) Room cleaning never happened, even though we left the room by 10 the next morning, no fresh towels, I had to call down for fresh towels to be delivered
4) Tea and Coffee making facilities were bare minimum (1 sachet of sugar and 1 sachet of powered milk for a two day stay?)
5) Room service is now all electronic, you have to pay by credit card on your smart phone, the menu has been reduced drastically and no longer 24 hours
6) No option for breakfast in the room
7) Irish Bar "Galway" is closed, 34th bar is also closed
8) No information or option on check-in as to how get breakfast
It seems to me as if the Covid-19 situation is being used as an excuse for the lack of facilities, which you can find easily elsewhere in Oslo for less money.

First of all I have a Luxury or premium room and they sent me right in the elevator box site with the inherent excessive sound, which logically I have to change rooms with all the inconveniences. When we arrive the system was down so we have to wait an hour to have a room and worst of all the pool was close without any advice and fir mr was the best atracción. I complaint and the chief manager told be I would have a reward or discount and nothing happens when I paid

Thank you for your review. We are saddened to hear that your experience didn’t amount to the expectation that you’ve had when you booked your reservation. You’ve also had issues during your stay regarding noises which didn’t help your rest, technical difficulties with the hotel’s system during the check-in process, facilities unavailable like the pool and unsatisfactory service from the staff. This is certainly not the kind complete hotel experience we would want you to remember. We strive for complete guest satisfaction and we are regretful that your experience fell short of that standard at that time. We are concerned about the satisfaction of our guests and your feedback is greatly appreciated as it assists us in our continuous goal of improving our services. We would love for you to stay with us again and experience our hotel the way you should have this visit. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Only few steps away from the central train station, this hotel has a very good location and very beautiful view to the islands and the hills. We were definitely satisfied from our choice to stay there. The room was big, comfortable and warm enough. The breakfast was extremely rich and tasty, full of local and international food. The gym was located in the top of the building offering stunning views to the city but it had a little bit difficult access. Men sauna was comfortable and maybe the only sauna with open views to the city. The stuff was perfect and we enjoyed every moment of our stay.

For my first International trip in 2 years ( and arrival on my Birthday day ) I just knew I had to stay somewhere special.
2 of my Brothers would be joining me as well and therefore I decided on the Radisson Blu Oslo Plaza.
This is Oslo’s tallest building and is a true statement address in every sense of the word !
The staff are friendly, approachable and very warmly Nordic. The rooms are beautiful, the facilities great and the lifts are superfast ( just as well as we ended up lucky to be on the 29th floor ! )
The bathrooms are luxurious with premium own brand toiletries that make shower/bath time a pleasure !
The gym and pool are almost on the highest floor and the gym offers stunning panoramic views of Oslo as far as the eye can see. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Oslo Central Station and is connected by a bridge that you access via steps. Jernbanetorget, the transport junction and the Oslo City Mall are just 5 minutes walk. Free Oslo maps and guides are available at reception.
The true star of the hotel is the Front Desk Manager Bora who does everything to meet and exceed guest expectations. He is a true gentleman and I cannot thank him enough for the beautiful surprises in my bedroom upon arrival. I will always remember this Birthday as Bora made it amazing, not just for me but also the stay my Brothers ! Every Hotel should have a Bora in it !
The only thing I did not like was the terrible crowding each day in the Breakfast Room. Above that, I could not believe that meats and cheeses are being handled with tongs being used with the same hands.
This is a Premium property and what they need is a structured system at Breakfast times. That being, have all the non meat options laid out first and then have meat items. There should be a one way queuing system meaning that to get more of the vegetarian option, you would have to go back into the queue. There should be staff members enforcing the queue structure as well as hand sanitisers to enter the food area to ensure cleanliness between courses.
Free WiFi, flat screen tvs and Nespresso machines in the Business Class rooms all enhance the stay.
The Gluten Free food has a completely separate are altogether. I would not hesitate to stay again if the rates are good and of course to see the legend that is Mr Bora ! I do hope that the Radisson Blu Oslo Plaza correct the breakfast situation as it is the only negative from my superb 3 night stay.

Check in and out took over 30 minutes each time. They couldn’t find our booking via booking.com and made us feel like liars. The bedroom was good and modern and very clean, very comfy bed. Shower was piping hot it could burn a child. Be very careful in the shower the water is scalding! The pool area needs a full renovation. We were really looking forward to using the pool and sauna/steam facilities. But the amount of stairs to climb just to get to the separate areas is like climbing Mount Everest! The pool looked awful very drab and dull so in the end we didn’t use, hotel needs to renovate the leisure areas.
Please note Covid-19. This hotel was used as a base hotel, the hotel doesn’t inform guests but it was very very obvious. They had coaches booked everyday driving guests to countries where flights had been cancelled. This was a little worrying as I felt unsure if we We’re coming into contact with the virus. There were a high percentage of emirates and Thailand airways staff who had not allowed to fly back so we’re staying at the hotel.these staff were allowed to push into the queue at check out whilst us mere mortals were left waiting even though we also had flights to catch.
Overall the bed was comfortable and room was clean but would we stay here again? No way!

We spent 3 days here in a suite on the 30th floor. The room was comfortable with some style but as with many large corporate hotels, lacking any warmth or charm. The view was pleasant and the room really quiet which was nice. The bed was large and a joy to sleep in.I did notice how clean the room was kept so kudos to housekeeping! There were enough English channels on the TV which we enjoyed, rare in most European hotels. The breakfast had many choices and service was good but with so many people ,the frenetic atmosphere was not the best to enjoy the start of the day..Not a relaxing atmosphere at all. We did enjoy a lunch in the downstairs bar served by a lovely lady The staff we came in contact with were friendly and seemed capable at handling the multitude of guests. As many have stated, the location is a good point to start exploring Oslo. If you are just looking for a decent place to stay with above average facilities, then the Radisson Blu may be for you

I don’t consider myself a problem guest for hotels. I usually book after my needs and room availability with any extras such as amenities dining and location as bonuses. The Radisson chain has been at the game long enough so you would believe they have ironed out the bumps that make unhappy guests. They are all high end hotels and therefore not the sort of places you bother to research deeply if it is just a night. You want a room and you expect the 4-5 star service which goes with the price which at just over $500 for a premium room is creating some pretty high basic expectations.
One of which would be, let me see, oh yes functioning plumbing. Nope you don’t get that, witness the blocked sink and flooded bathroom. Then you might expect a reasonably stocked minibar. Nope well yup actually, you do get that but it is locked and no one can open it. What about some reasonably helpful staff. Nope they are much too busy showing guests that they don’t know how the complicated tech in the lifts work so everyone is randomly arriving on the wrong floor. Or of course when things are just going very very wrong you might offer a guest a reduced price for a room with no working bathroom or even god forbid, another room. Wrong you just line up the excuses until first deputy managers and finally duty managers are chivvied out of their offices to deal with this stuff. And they are genuinely apologetic except that No they are not going to do anything about it. If you can imagine the strong Norwegian accent “We are sorry, but you see we are so busy and staff are so difficult to find.” Doesn’t really cut it.
However by sheer chance the Top Restaurant in the hotel is a franchise that does have its act together and for the price of the room the evening melted away in a dream of fresh Norwegian oysters, champagne and risotto. Excellent.
The hotel itself I would give a very wide berth to unless you are sure it is a day of national mourning or you have on-the-ground guarantees that it is not operating at capacity. Oh, and by the way, a word to the wise, this hotel prices by the guest NOT by the room so watch out when being quoted on a room.
