Stay open-minded. The Hotel is situated directly next to Prater and the big ferris wheel, one of the main attractions in Vienna. The 1st district and City centre is about 15 mins walking distance along the Danube. A marvellous garden, a cosy bar and lounge, the great breakfast and a nice running track starting directly at the Hotel are only some reasons to visit magdas HOTEL. The main reason to come here and visit us are the people. We work with mostly refugees accompanied and guided by some experienced Hotel empoyees. It’s them who make the magdas HOTEL a colorful spot to meet and understand each other, designed and featured in cooperation with artists, architects and art students. Come in, see you soon in magdas HOTEL.

I stayed at magdas for two nights due to a fair. The fair is just a 10-15 minute walk through the prater park and the city center is a 30 minute walk away. Public transport can also easily be reached. So the location was great.
The concept of the hotel is really nice since they are working with refugees, try to reuse things and have an environmental mind(I forgot my plug in not charging anything in the wall plug and the cleaning staff took it out.)
The rooms are quite basic but unique with reused furniture and unique art. I would recommend staying in a room with a balcony (from mine you could see the ferris wheel at Prater).
Breakfast was really good with a great bread selection, international dips, cheese and ham, various types of eggs, different types of international salads, fresh fruit, fruit salad, muesli, yoghurt, actual juice, tea and good coffee.
The staff was really nice. My colleague got sick on the day we were supposed to arrive and we were still able to make a cancelation.
However, this hotel isn't for you if you like staying in hotel chains with the standard hotel furniture. It is more like staying in a unique, charming hipster cafe. As the hotel says you have to stay open minded.

I've been wanting to stay at Magda's for years, and I am so glad that I finally did. I love the little details, the fact that they upcycled their entire interior, and their social business background. The staff was international (obviously) and as friendly as can be.
I personally love the location as the prater is ideal for a morning run; it takes you 10 minutes to walk to the subway, 40 minutes to walk to Schwedenplatz. So for me that is perfectly fine.
I can only recommen this place.

Love the hotel and the vibe! The rooms are basic, clean and well-maintained. The hidden treasure of this hotel is the garden! We have spent many trips to Vienna here with friends. Everyone brought their kids along, and in the evening, we put the kids to the bed in the respective rooms, turned on the baby monitor and the adults got to enjoy a nice time together in the bar area in the garden, soaking in the summer breeze under the huge trees. In the mornings, we enjoyed the delicious breakfast while the kids played in the garden. All in all, lovely all around!

The staff are very professional and welcoming. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the building (former old people's home) has been very stylishly renovated into a clean modern hotel. The 'upcycled' furniture is mostly very well done. Some details are really good such as the coat racks from old OBB trains. The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable. I even had a view of the Prater from my window.

Good location, food could be improved.
Sweet dishes at the buffet and during breaks were very good, but unfortunately the lunch buffet was not good at all. Cauliflower with tomato sauce was lukewarm, wedges were ready from the freezer bag, baked chicken looked grey and dry. Everything was lukewarm, not very inviting.
Staff very helpful and friendly

The only good thing is the hotel is located very close to Prater park and close to city center.
Rooms are big enough, with free extra bed if you ask for it.
No TV in the rooms.
Parking is 13 euro/day.
The hotel looks a bit strange overall.
Rooms are not very clean overall.
In the bathroom(room 109) a pee smell always .
Shower curtain was old.
Some rooms have balconies.
The property pictures here and Booking looks way better than the reality.
Prices are quite big for a 2 stars hotel, 89 euro/room. I don't understand all these good reviews.

Firstly Suzannah is one of the nicest people you could meet, she works in the cafe at Magda's and you couldn't find anyone that was as kind, friendly and hardworking as her. She is such an asset to the hotel I hope the management appreciate the treasure that she is. This hotel is great, the design and decor is fresh and modern. The room was very spacious and comfortable. There was air-conditioning in the rooms, or windows that open. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean.

We spent a week in Vienna and stayed at Magda Hotel. Being a social organisation was interesting, but what I really admired was the spirit of friendliness, respect and joy that every employee in the hotel shared.
Breakfasts were really good and having breakfast in a lovely garden in the middle of the city was just amazing. Rooms were clean, many with balconies.
If you go to Vienna, give this hotel a chance. It was worth it and I would strongly recommend this hotel to anybody with an open mind. We just loved it!!

Spartan and sad, but the staff is kind and helpful
Significant delay in the delivery of rooms
Half empty soap dispenser and meager rooms
Central, but 4 undeserved stars
Given the price!
However overall acceptable
They certainly take advantage of being in Vienna and the speed of rotation of customers

Hi,
you can leave your luggage at reception before check in and after check out.
Kind regards from magdas Hotel
We relied on public transport or simply walked everywhere. Magdas is located in such a central area, it is really easy to get around. The staff were also very helpful in directing us to where we wanted to go.
Our own garage costs 13€ per night (price at the moment September 2018). Unfortunately we have only limited spaces available. Street parking is difficult, as there is a short term parking zone around the hotel! Our reception staff can inform you about public garages nearby.
No; it is a park and one can feel uncomfortable but I had no problems. I came late, with the train or metro about 00h and it was OK .
