The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighbourhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market. Many bohemian types have found their way to Wieden: meet them in trendy cafés and bars, shop alongside them for vintage items, enjoy Wien Museum’s and Kunsthalle’s modern temporary exhibitions, and hang out with the bees at Vienna’s most beautiful urban garden, Karlsgarten.

My wife and I enjoyed 4 nights at the Kaiserhof Wien. Check in was a breeze and our room was of decent size, nice bathroom, and very quiet. The location is so quiet that we opened our windows at night because we prefer to sleep in very cool rooms and under duvets. Public transportation options were very convenient. Just at the end of the street and up about a block is a tram stop (Resselgasse) and the Karlsplatz UBahn station just about another block away= easy access. As you turn right at the end of Frankenberggasse and go up the street (Wiedner Hauptstraße) toward the tram and UBahn station, you will pass a very convenient Billa grocery store (everything and more than you need). Just past the Billa there is an Austrian Bank. You will also pass many popular take away places selling wonderfully smelling foods of all types(we ate at so many Christmas Market Stalls and local Wurstlestands that we never sampled the food but lineups seemed constant). One note, the Billa sells fresh made foods, sandwiches, and vegetables along with snack, drinks, and the coveted Manner Neapolitan Waffers at a 1/4 the cost of the Manner Stores around tourist hotspots.

The bed was comfortable and we had two twins that acted as a king. As previously mentioned, the room was extremely quiet. There was an in room safe and plenty of cabinets with hangers. We sent laundry out one day due to the length of our trip=prices appeared reasonable. One must put a room key into a receiverinside the room and located near the door to activate the lights in the room. Great energy saving idea plus there are sensors in the halls that dim and cut the lights up to bright when you step out, another energy saver. We heard zero guest or outside noise. The ladies that cleaned our room were wonderful. You'd be hard pressed to see dust even after swiping with a white glove.

Breakfast was a delight. The variation each day was appreciated and everything we ate was of great quality. The Prosecco was a nice and refreshing touch at breakfast. There was eggs prepared in many ways, pancakes, waffles, cheeses, speck, sausages, breads, cakes, pastries, croissants, great jellies, great marmalades, fresh fruit (loved the ground cherries), and lastly coffee. You may have many choices in variety for coffee---LOL, coffee will never taste the same after drinking it in cafes and at this hotel.

Now to the real stars of the hotel: The entire staff is outstanding. At breakfast you are in great hands if Lucia or Patricia (I spelled her name wrong) are taking care of you. Lucia has a great sense of humor and one of the best laughs you will ever hear. I am sorry that I do not remember the rest of the breakfast staff. They are all excellent.

I mentioned check in was easy, so was check out (except for wishing we could stay longer). Again, apologies for not getting all of the names of the people who helped us during our stay. However, Victoria, Hannes, and Christa stood out for their friendliness, kindness, and efficiency. They allowed me to practice Meinem Deutschkenntnisse und Fragen stellen. My wife and I felt like we were visiting friends and were welcomed every step of the way.

This was our first trip to Vienna, it will not be our last. We came to view the city, travel like locals, and see the Christmas Markets. The staff at the Kaiserhof Wien made sure we succeeded. A brilliant experience and a life changing stay in a world class city. We hope to stay again, next December. Vienlen Dank. T.Lewis

What a wonderful hotel! We recently stayed with friends to celebrate my 60th birthday and we had a fantastic time. We couldn’t have booked a better hotel. Very close to the city centre but quiet and very comfortable. It has a lovely informal atmosphere and is very cosy. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. A really nice bar area to relax in for either the whole evening or just for drinks after dinner.

My wife and I had a short break in Vienna and stayed at the Kaiserhof Hotel. It is a 19th century building and still has a very elegant charm to it.
The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed exceptionally comfortable. The windows on the staircase have been beautifully engraved with the outline of a woman.

We only had breakfast as we were out sightseeing all day but the food was good and plentiful. The staff were again very pleasant and helpful.
The Hotel has a small gym and sauna for those feeling energetic.
Centrally located it is well placed for the underground and trams. The Opera house is approximately a 10 minute walk away as is the Sacher Hotel, home of the famous Sacher Torte dessert.
I would certainly recommend the Hotel to anyone and will stay there again should I return.

The hotel was in a good location for the city sights and Christmas markets. Very clean hotel. The staff were very helpful and all of them made an effort to ensure our stay was perfect. The reception staff were helpful, the barman was friendly and efficient and the lady who cleaned our rooms was hardworking and always cheerful - greeting us every morning with a cheery Guten Morgen.

We where greeted by Jos Han with a big smile and very warm welcome. We where staying in a twin room, there was a lovely little touch of a chocolate on our pillows. When we came back in the evening there was two little cakes left in the room. All staff where very warm friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning had a wide selection to choose from cold and hot. When we where checking out we where also given a small little bag with some cookies in it as a thank you for staying in hotel. To the management and all the staff, Christina and Jos Han a big thank you for your excellent customer care and warm welcome.
