Detailed Reviews
My boyfriend and I have just come back from a weekend staying at this hotel and it was one of the best hotel stays we have had. They get everything right here. I booked an allergy free room as I'm allergic to feathers and so many times this is forgotten but not here. There were even sensitive skin allergen friendly products in the bathroom which was such a nice touch. We didn't arrive until late on Friday night and received such a friendly welcome at the reception desk and a complimentary drink at the bar. There were little packs of sweets on our pillows as well which was a treat. We had a ground floor room which was huge and the bed was really comfortable. The breakfast is so good and really set us both up for the day. There is a hot buffet as well as fruit, hams, cheeses, yoghurt, pastries and an amazing selection of bread. The hotel is so close to the city centre and we didn't need to use the underground at all, although it was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Sanjay tends the comfortable and relaxing bar area with a friendly and helpful smile and an excellent knowledge of gin - keep up the good work Sanjay! We were sad to leave after only 2 nights and we will be recommending this excellent hotel to all our friends and family.

I have stayed here 2 times but have not left a review before. The first time was Aug 2019, 2 rooms for 4 nights. The hotel is fantastic. Old world charm and the staff are friendly, patient and extremlely accomodating. Sanjay was a magnificent ambassador for the hotel, Vienna and Austria as a whole and left an everlasting impression. The hotel is a 10 min stroll to the Kartner Strasse in one direction, Naschmarkt in another and Belvedere in another. The breakfast is substantial and very high quality and well attended to by the staff. The bar is a cosy way to relax before retiring for the evening.
My second stay was in Sept 2020 for 3 nights as part of essential travel for work. I was almost embarrased to stay here given the very low price I paid for the stay, my guilty conscious didn't last for long. The Hotel had good consideration for social distancing and available hand sanititiser compared to the normal that I experienced in Vienna as a whole. They implemented a system at breakfast to dispose of cutlery etc to eliminate the potential for contamination from handling utensils etc. It worked reasonably well but unfortunately there are always going to be people who do not conform, that is not a reflection on the Hotel.
I am required to travel to Vienna on a more regular basis now and I look forward to staying here many more times in the future.

We stayed in this hotel last weekend and we had a fabulous stay. All the staff from the front of house, housekeeping , breakfast staff and not forgetting our bar manager are incredibly friendly and attentive. The entire experience was perfect. From the moment we entered the hotel we were treated so well. The hotel is fairly central and well within walking distance to a number of top sites to see eg. tube system, Karlscirch, the Nashmarket, Opera House, Hofburg Palace and St. Stephens Cathedral are all within walking distance. The rooms and a reasonable size for a city hotel and the bathroom is a good size too. The rooms were very clean and cleaned every day to a high standard. The extensive and fresh breakfast buffet was included, the breakfast contained everything you could possibly want for fueling up in the morning. The food was fresh and regularly replaced once it had run out. From fresh fruits (not tinned), smoke salmon, bacon , fresh breads, cereals and I could go on. Not only that, the staff were very pleasant and obliging. We didn’t eat at the hotel but we had a few drinks in the bar to round the day off and the bar manager was excellent. He was very knowledgably and extremely attentive. Overall the Kaiserhof is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and it is excellent value for money..

Hotel Kaiserhof Wien is ideally situated close to the centre of town and a five minute walk to the U-Bahn/Metro/Underground hub at Karlsplatz.
The hotel itself is tastefully decorated albeit with the beautiful Christmas decorations when we visited.
The room was warm, clean and comfortable and had all the facilities required. Although it faced the street, there was very little traffic noise.
The extensive breakfast buffet catered for all tastes and was excellent, accompanied by some good coffee and a selection of teas.
The staff at reception were very helpful and provided useful guidance on what we could see the evening of arrival and throughout or stay all marked up on a map to take away.
We are looking forward to visiting again in the spring/summer months and would certainly book the Hotel Kaiserhof Wien again.

My first visit to Vienna and the Hotel Kaiserhof was a wonderful introduction. A historic hotel which has been modernised, it sits on a quiet side street – easily reached from the airport via public transport, in the surrounding area (easily reached on foot) are the St Charles church, Secession building and the Naschmarkt (amazing food market). The museum precinct was 20 minutes easy walk, as well as St Stephens cathedral.
The hotel has lovely public areas on the ground floor and the breakfast offers a substantial array of options to start the day with – the staff are friendly and professional, it’s a more personal hotel than the usual chains. Our room was nicely decorated and clean, the bed roomy and comfortable.
We would definitely stay here again – the surrounding area is safe and interesting and we’d love to explore Vienna even more using the Kaiserhof as a base.

My boyfriend and I spent three nights at Hotel Kaiserhof in November and had a fantastic stay. My boyfriend chose the hotel via the British Airways website. It was a great choice. The hotel is in a great location, being so near the museums and shopping area, and near to the Christmas market on Karlsplatz, Art Advent, which opened that weekend.
Our room was very comfortable and quiet, with all the amenities we could possibly want - a pillow menu (which we didn't use but looked intriguing), a room safe, an umbrella and tea and coffee making facilities. I loved the bathroom which seemed extremely luxurious even though we were in a standard room - I enjoyed soaking in the bath each evening after a long day of sightseeing.
The breakfast buffet was ample, with lots of hot and cold choices, and served in the elegant dining room which was a pleasure to sit in.
It is the attention to detail that makes this hotel so special as well as the friendly staff. We enjoyed using the shoe cleaning machine by the lifts each day! It was a lovely touch to find chocolates on our bed when we first arrived and to be given a mini bag of cookies when we checked out.
There is so much to see and do in Vienna and two whole days is not nearly enough. We plan to return and will definitely book into Hotel Kaiserhof again!

Stayed at this wonderful hotel in the week leading up to Christmas before meeting up with our family in Prague.
It was our first trip to Vienna and we chose it based on the excellent Trip Advisor reviews.
The hotel is situated on a side street within very easy walking distance ( even with luggage) from Karlsplatz station. In fact it's within walking distance to all the main sights in Vienna , the city centre in one direction and the Belvedere in the other. It's also a few stops on the subway from Karsplatz to the Schönbrunn Palace.
We did visit several of the Christmas markets during our stay only to discover that the best , in our opinion was on our doorstep ( Karlsplatz ).
The hotel itself is gorgeous if you prefer old world charm and cosy surroundings. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and just had this relaxed ambience about it.
The room we had wasn't huge but the beds were very comfortable ( and I'm very fussy) with high quality linen.
The room even though it was on the first floor was extremely quiet.
We had drinks in the bar early and late evening and enjoyed chatting with other guests .The gentleman who runs the bar is an absolute asset to the hotel.
The outstanding feature was the fantastic breakfast served in a beautiful dining room.It is buffet style but the variety and quality were second to none. The staff were so efficient and coffee orders were taken and delivered very promptly.
We choose to stay for one more night in early January before out return to Australia .We just had to have one last Kaiserhof breakfast !
So glad we stayed there.

If you are looking for an hotel in Vienna...look no further! We just returned from our
8-day stay at the Kaiserhof Wien, and it was perfect.
The hotel is a 12-minute walk or 7 Euro cab ride from the Ring Strasse. (Just far enough to escape all the tourism and experience a Viennese neighborhood). The hotel itself has old world charm but is completely renovated. The housekeeping throughout the hotel is flawless.
Our room (12) was spacious and had one extraordinary feature, two full bathrooms.. (It was like being home). There were electrically operated shutters, a generous closet for each of us, sitting area and an array of goodies upon our arrival.
The real standout, however, was the staff. They were amazingly helpful, kind and friendly. The bartender who twice made us a hot meal at 11 P.M. The housekeeper who had to deal with our jet-lag. But it was the front desk who really shined. Our credit card company contacted us that one of our cards had been "hacked". Unfortunately, it was the card we were using. So, that card was cancelled
and with lots of help from the front desk staff, especially Sonya, we received a new card from the U.S. in three days. (Oh, did I mention that it was Christmas in Austria, where most everything is closed for three days). The hotel is a model in customer service.
The hotel prides itself in their "best breakfast In Vienna". Now, I can't say that I had breakfast elsewhere, but I can say that there just can't be a better breakfast in Vienna.
My wife and I had a magical 25th anniversary in Vienna thanks in large part to the wonderful hotel and staff of the Hotel Kaiserhof Wien.
PS. Take more than one (1) credit card on an international trip. We had an ATM card but the fees are quite high.

My wife and I drove directly from the airport to the hotel. When we arrived we just dropped off our car at the concierge and it was swiftly taken care of. The check in process was very smooth and lasted for a few minutes . After we checked in, we went to our room but my wife found the temperature a little too high. The front desk told us they will adjust the temperature and it was taken care of very quickly. When we came back in the evening, my wife wanted lighter blankets and front desk gave us right away.
The breakfast buffet was marvelous with lots of varieties of fruits, teas, desserts, sausages etc.
We had our dinner at the bar every evening. The bar offers light meal at reasonable price and the quality is excellent. The server, Sanjay, was very helpful providing us information about tour of the Christmas markets and city.
The hotel is at walking distance to many of the attractions like the Opera house , museums and shopping district.
I strongly recommend this hotel to travelers who like to explore the city at leisure

Wonderful experience at the Kaiserhof! Spent the weekend in this quiet, well-appointed, very clean hotel. Rooms look recently updated. Everything provided for (umbrella, nice hangers, coffee and tea with tea kettle, comfy beds). Hairdryer in bathroom is decently powerful. Close to Karlsplaz metro station. Very quiet rooms. Staff are nice. Breakfast included in price was very good - huge selection, tasty food, nice ambiance, Prosecco if you so desire early in the morning. I would not hesitate to stay here - walkable to the busiest part of the city, yet peaceful when you get back to your hotel. There is a small grocery store (Billa) a block or two away to get reasonably priced snacks and drinks for the room.

We took the CAT train from the airport to Work Mitte and then the U4 underground line to Karlsplatz. It's just a 5 minute walk then to the hotel.
We were there in the winter... It's best to ask the hotel staff. They are very friendly.
Our room was not small, but it was a double room. I don't know about single rooms. I suggest you write directly to the hotel, I am sure they will be happy to answer.
Did not have any problems with Wi-Fi at the Hotel Kaiserhof.
When you take your room key out of the slot at night, the AC and lights turn off, so I was initially warm at night, but then the front desk advised me that the card that was in the slot when I first opened the door to the room is a special card that keeps the AC running. I thought someone had just left their room key.
