We stayed here one night on the way over to Venice the hotel was easy to find situated in a good location by the river.
The checking process was slow as the desk was unattended we had to 4 minutes 😒 anyway once we got checked in the breakfast wad 22 euro each which we declined we were Ihg members and booked a high room superior with river view.
The room was well appointed with its own quirks the TV channels good and wifi.
We raise a issue with reception which was finally pick up the phone on 4th call the aircon not working we had the window closed 🤔 the receptionist showed little interest and informed it took awhile to come right.
Strange gave us no solution to a problem in our bedroom well had to sleep with the window open as it was quite warm.
Looked I have stayed in hotels all.over the world and I am Ihg member but the hotel was good but its lacks a human element called service to help resolve problems that guest have.

Selected this hotel for it’s convenient
location and IHG cleanliness standards. The hotel is modern, stylish and well located in the center of Villach. The rooms are well appointed with wonderfully comfortable beds. The bathroom was excellent and had great shower. The breakfast is excellent with a huge assortment of fresh and delicious selections. The elegantly designed restaurant gave a top friendly level of service with high quality cuisine. Reception was friendly although seemed a little uninformed at times with the shift changes. Although I am a Platinum member I was not offered a welcome drink even though I arrived early and was in the reception waiting for my room to be ready which was given from 9:30am as requested. The Housekeeping department was amazing with a sparkling cleaning service every day. Overall a lovely and most comfortable stay and I can highly recommend staying there.

We discovered this hotel in 2019 and have been staying many times per year since then. With the spire/diamond ambassador elite, always qualified for free breakfast, and that was great, but the quality has gone down a bit. An occasional upgrade would have been nice but no such luck. At some point in 2022, the hotel changed the standard room type bookable with points to the lowest possible room type and raised the point rate so much it’s now 50% more expensive to book with points than cash. Seems that they are turning their back on IHG elites.

Many positives associated with this hotel, but first I must address the 'negative'. The 1st room I was assigned was so terribly hot, I needed to request another room. Now onto the 'positives'.
1. Accommodating staff that quickly offered me a replacement room.
2. Excellent location- a 5-minute walk to HBF and right on the river Drau.
3. Nicely furnished room with expresso maker and pods.
4. Sauna/Steam room area was inviting.
My 2nd room was a significant improvement in terms of a working HVAC, but I still felt the temperature of the room was being 'governed' on the management level. My time in Villach was not during a heat wave, but had it been, the room temperature may have remained an issue.

A rebranded Holiday Inn, the VOCO is modern hotel with a good location just across the bridge from the old town. The hotel is a no frills business/conformance hotel, which also serves as a stop over hotel for people travelling further eastwards.
The hotel staff is friendly, the breakfast quite good and everything is quite modern. The only questionable point is the design on the room in which the bathroom is part of the room with frosted glass cubicles for the toilet and shower. Unless such a thing is a no go for you, you can do no wrong by booking this hotel.

We arrived as part of an Insight Vacations bus tour. Once I saw the hotel, I was so glad we were skipping the optional casino dinner. The room was perfect, overlooking the river. It was modern and stylish, and best of all, we could open the windows. We went down to have a drink on the patio and the fountains in the river went on, displaying mesmerizing patterns. It was an easy walk to the old town area for dinner. I have never heard of Villach, but our day there was really a treat.

Stayed in King bed room for few days.Design is pretty bad, funtiture has some respectfull years already.
Stuff doesnt know how to smile. When you pass, no one says hello or anything, you feel like a ghost practically.
Shocked, never seen recepcionist like this.
Anyways, be careful church near, you can hear the bell even with closed windows.

This was previously an Holiday Inn and now, as VOCO it has maintained its high standard. The rooms are clean and big enough; the breakfast is excellent.

You will need a European adapter for plugs
Yes very easy indeed. Klagenfurt Annabichl station is about 10 minutes walk from the airport. There are also buses. Change at Klagenfurt Hauptbahnhof for frequent trains to Villach, The Holiday Inn a few minutes walk form the station. All very easy.
