Room we booked was certainly not new as stated. The carpets were musty, balcony area grubby, broken tiles in the bathroom and electrics that scared me to death. Having requested maintenance to sort out the sockets (which almost came out of the wall each time a plug was removed) and were intermittent in working, we then discovered a bed with a large ridge through it and a shower which spat out yellow water we approached reception to be offered an 'upgrade' we were allocated another room which overlooked the car park and above the casino. No balcony but double sliding doors which we were advised to close to keep the noise out.(it didn't work) all night long we could hear vehicles coming in and out driving over two large loose metal grids. Not wanting to pack and move again we foolishly decided to grin and bear it. On leaving I decided to check the mattress... pics attached. The cleaners were very helpful and spoke great English. Sadly breakfast was limited choices when you're not used to salads, olives, meats and cheeses. There was breads, fried eggs omelettes, some cereal and yoghurt which suited us. The orange juice was disappointing being more of a squash than juice.Luckily we only booked B&B so ate out at lunch and dinner. The pools were very nice but could do without the very loud music in the afternoon particularly as the vuni hotel next door also had theirs blasting just 20 feet away. The beach area needs TLC, the sunbeds and umbrellas need repairing or replacing and a daily cleanup of the sand would make it more pleasant, There were cigarette butts all over and I personally threw countless pieces of plastic out of the water. The evening entertainment was, although organised by a hard working couple, quite amateurish, musical chairs for adults? Bar prices were in euros which works out quite expensive. All in all our stay was disappointing and we would not return to this hotel.

Just got back from a week long stay at the hotel and it was great. There were 3 of us, myself my mum and my 15 year old son, so we booked a family room with 2 bedrooms. The room was fine with plenty of space and a decent bathroom with big shower. There was a small fridge in one of the rooms and the only thing we felt it missed was a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. It was my sons birthday while we were there and the staff arranged a cake for us and sang happy birthday to him which was lovely. We stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choice of continental, fruit, bread and pastries, cereal and a hot selection with made to order fried eggs and omelettes. Would definitely recommend for families as the pools are ideal for kids and is very family friendly

Old colonial style hotel, quite charming but not accessible for wheel-chair users. There is a lift, but not all floors can be reached and the pool is 40 steps down from the hotel. However, the pool is excellent, large, clean, plenty of sun loungers, good bar; snacks can also be ordered. Big terrace with great views over the Harbour. Adequate buffet meals. Little shuttle train into the center of the town. Also plenty of taxis. Most of the staff speak reasonable to good English. The small beach is not very attractive - Harbour, not open sea.

Where to begin... this place looks like it was build 30 years ago, and nothing has been maintained since. It just seems like it's falling apart, something that really comes to show when the bathroom doors won't close, the power cuts out, the railing on balconies and stairs feels like it could be knocked over by a toddler, and I could keep going. But that's not all, a relaxing day at the pool will be interrupted by gas powered golf carts and weed whackers, and the towels were dirty. The showers only work for people lower than 175cm. And constantly changes temperature. The only nice people at the hotel were the cleaning staff. I would recommend you spend your time elsewhere

My wife and Myself were on a Saga/Titan holiday for a week in Kyrenia. After a very early start from the U.K. and a rather long drive to the Oscar Hotel we were so looking forward to a hot shower and dinner. Sadly this did not happen, we were allocated the wrong grade of room and even worse, miles from the nearest elevator. I had to take my invoice from Saga/Titan to reception to prove that we were in the wrong grade of room. We were informed that nothing could be done to rectify the mistake until the next day as the Hotel was full. My wife is disabled, so we spent a miserable night, missed out on our included trip to Nicosia that departed the hotel at 0815 the next day. We were eventually moved to a superb room, (next to an elevator) at approximately 1350 on day two. Things started to look up after the disastrous start to our holiday at the hotel. We were looked after by the lovely ever smiling lady receptionist Merve Didem Emiroglu and the gentleman Azam Mohammad, nothing was too much trouble for them. Azam Mohammad drove my wife and myself down to the pool side for lunch everyday using the hotel golf buggy. He looked after us so well, that we decided to forgo the other Saga/Titan included excursions so that we could chill out and relax at the pool side. The team at the poolside restaurant were a happy bunch and served us very nice luncheons and liquid refreshments. Thanks to them all we had a wonderful relaxing holiday and after talking to some of the other guests on our tour party we feel that we made the right decision to stay put and chillout. Talking about hotel staff putting themselves out for hotel guests . The crown on one of my front teeth decided to part company and left a horrid gap, and we were meant to fly home in approximately 48 hours time. Merve, our favourite receptionist lady, contacted her dentist ,organised a taxi to take us there and back, and have the crown reinstated and put the smile back on my face. First class treatment all-round. I would also like to thank the staff in the dinning room for looking after us and making our dinning experience a pleasure. Sorry we misplaced the slip with your names on, but we will always remember your smiling faces as you looked after us at our table for two. Thank you to all at the hotel Oscar for ensuring we had an excellent weeks stay, wish it could have been longer. PS. For British Tourists. My crown parted company with my mouth six weeks before the start of this holiday. The fee for emergency treatment in the U.K. was £190. The Emergency treatment in Kyrenia including the return taxi fare was a grand total of £16 .(Sixteen Pounds Sterling). And its still there.

Spotlessly clean, super service, sheets and towels changed daily. Direct access to beach, seats, loungers provided free in all areas. Enclosed safe harbour to swim in sea and a variety of pools to choose from. Outside pool bars to snack or get a drink. Very restful and laid back atmosphere. Staff very obliging. Great variety of food to choose from. No kettle etc in bedroom but you can ask at reception.

Stayed for four nights with a party enjoying a cultural tour of Northern Cyprus. I was very happy with my room, well decorated, very bright, a lovely carpet, nothing to complain about. Good bathroom, with toiletries. Safe cost 1 euro per day. Had breakfast and dinner here, reasonable choice at both, good service from the staff. Location is good, only 1.5 kilometres from city centre, and the hotel provides courtesy shuttle servce. However, there are also a fair number of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Evening entertainment was a bit disappointing, bingo and a quiz, there was live music on the evening after we left. Wish it had been while we were there.Drink prices were reasonable. It is unlikely that I will return to Northern Cyprus, but if I did, I would be happy to stay here again.

I can honestly say that this is one of the most bizarre hotel complexes I have ever stayed at. The lobby/lounge area with bar and terrace is a welcome facility with comfortable seating areas and piped muzak. There are fizzog-type oil paintings of people in reception, who are apparently the owners/directors together with a piano and a chandelier. The capacious grounds are filled with bungalows/apartments arranged in avenues and cul-de-acs around a series of water slides and landscaped gardens, closed at the time of writing. There are outdoor pools and an indoor pool with ‘spa’ (not heated). I went over to the sister hotel in order to use their heated indoor pool instead. It’s possible to walk along a promenade/jetty over to the other hotel, a pleasant diversion that affords panoramic sea views. Weirdly, despite there being two hotels - one four star, the other five star - there is no cafe/shop/gym on either site, which was disappointing. There’s an on-site barbers/hairdressers, though that’s just about it in terms of amenities. There is, however, an adjacent casino, which judging from traffic flowing in and out of the hotel car park all hours of the day and night is seemingly open 24 hours. Rooms are spacious and serviceable with well-equipped en-suites. Mine had a side view (car park and sea-landing). No tea/coffee making facilities, mini-bar/fridge out of order, no complimentary bottled water. Apparently no room service either, which for a 4 star hotel is deficient. Restaurant with terrace was fairly impressive, a good buffet breakfast and reasonable standards of service. Lunches and dinners available apparently, though I did not partake throughout my 1 week stay. The place feels rather grandiose, however, with a lack of attention to detail it’s hardly what I would term a quality product. It had a strange atmosphere that I find really hard to put into words, like something not happening but rather waiting to happen...(?) I’m frankly not sure if I would recommend or not recommend - I guess it’s up to you. Ear-plugs optional, though advisable.

Enjoyed our 2nd visit of the year at Oscars but I feel I need to give feedback. The man who plays extremely loud music at the main pool each afternoon needs to turn the volume down a bit. Don’t mind music in the slightest but when you can’t have a conversation with the person next to you it was ridiculous. We did speak to the customer relations man and he advised us to complain to reception which we did 2 or 3 times. Ann however was really good in the mornings and had the music playing in the background so everyone could relax in the sun. The other issue we had was taxis at night. We usually had to wait 40-45 minutes each night and are led to believe that there were only 2 taxis for the whole hotel. When I asked the 2 young male receptionists all I got was a shrug of their shoulders and they didn’t phone another taxi when asked. Their customer service skills were definitely lacking on any occasion I had to deal with them. Lastly our airport transfer arranged by the hotel didn’t turn up as booked stating that there was a problem with the car. No alternative arrived and eventually after an hours wait a car turned up which caused unnecessary stress and hassle in our homeward journey. Again the 2 young receptionists were no help at all and it was the luggage man(sorry don’t know his name but has been at Oscars for years) who helped us sort the issue. Come on Oscars you can do so much better!!

Dear guest, Thank you for your review for Oscar Resort Hotel. I will immediately investigate these setbacks you have mentioned and I would like to inform you that we will do what is necessary immediately. I see that the receptionists are making an effort to be helpful, but I would like to let you know that this negativity you have experienced upsets me as well. This issue will be investigated by me as soon as possible. When I learned from you that the animation officer in the pool produces loud music, I immediately warned my staff to resolve the issue. I apologize for this. We do not want to upset or disturb anyone, on the contrary, we work hard so that everyone can be satisfied. We are always happy to welcome you in your second home in Kyrenia. Yours sincerely Saleh
