We stayed at this apartment hotel which is a building built in 1918. The hotel is located minutes away from the shopping street of Reykjavik. There is no concierge and the receptionist does all the work including helping to carry the bags to the room....More
We stayed at the Reykjavik Residence Hotel for about a week in May. We were staying in the suite part of the hotel and had 2 rooms. The location of the hotel is great, it is very easy to walk around the city and its...More
We stayed for 4 nights in a new apartment tucked down a side street. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the main shopping street, supermarket and waterfront. Our superior studio apartment had a small lounge/kitchen and table for two. The kitchen was...More
This hotel is probably great, however our experience there didn't warrant a higher ranking. We stayed at Reykjavik Residence for 4 nights over 2 stays and were in 2 of their 3 buildings.
Although there were definite highlights (the morning breakfast basket was wonderful, the...More
Nothing special. Great staff. Very friendly. The location is nice for runs, walks, city stuff. Did not try breakfast. Room is small but suitable. The wine bar associated with the restaurant was fantastic. That place was worth a visit.

I would call them and ask. We have only had the breakfast basket they fill up in your refrigerator:It includes for ex: Hard boiled egg, piece of fruit( plum / apple), butter, Camembert cheese round, cucumber, crackers, Nutella, Skyr, cream cheese, ham/ salami , bread slices, the warm bread is outside your door in morning and is excellent( artisan type) . It is a cold breakfast, that could also eat for lunch. We brought the various left overs home . They have OJ, milk in refrigerator. Other beverages wine , soda, in frig you pay extra if consumed. Is it worth it? IMO,if you are there for 2-3 days yes, longer- no. There is a Bonus supermarket on main st - 6 min walk but closes at 6:00pm- you can buy the same things there. We were on long daily excursions so the Bonus store was always closed. If you have a car- you have more shop options, a Costco just opened up near the airport we heard local people talking about it. Food is VERY expensive, Restaurant also are VERY VERY,expensive but you can find fine cuisine in Reykjavik. There is a Vat and service tax on everything . We spent $50 on a burger and fries for 2 people( water- no desert) nothing special : in town- just be forewarned- credit debit cards taken everywhere. Been there twice, first exchanged money, second just used a card.
Went there twice because of natural wonders, nice people, slow pace, but tourism is big and an important part of their economy. The only reason I may not go back any time soon and will go elsewhere in Europe , maybe Scandinavia? Is due to the very high cost to eat out- I hate to cook on a vacation so you have to budget well for the food part. We have never experienced the hot breakfast. I think it depends on what building you are in- it may be a voucher to eat breakfast at somewhere in town? Call and ask.

We are situated in downtown Reykjavik and only have 3 parking spots available so there is no guarantee that you will have it. We can however offer you for 20€ per day a parking card that allows you to use the parking garage just 2 blocks down the street. There are also some street parking but that is a pay and display.
