The local buses from the airport are very reliable and are just outside the airport. We were impressed by the service and bought the tickets before arrival. They stop at the main bus terminus in Reykjavik which is less than 5 minutes from the hotel. You can arrange for the bus to drop you outside the hotel. You estimated arrival at the hotel will be at least around 1:30am
