Designed and trendy hotel at a bargain price! In 2021, we opened the third Motel L. It's located in Lund’s new district Brunnshög. With 14 floors, 252 rooms, and a sky bar with a view of the Scanian landscape, we will set a new landmark in Lund.

One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. The room is small, but you don't really need much space for just sleeping. The shower has really good water pressure and even though it's designed in a traditionally Nordic way, where there is half a door for the shower, it still didn't make the floor completely wet like other hotels I've stayed at. The view from the 7th floor was great! Once the rain clouds had disappeared, we could see all the way to the öresund Bridge. The location is good, the tram stop is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
Only problem we had was with our toilet. For some reason after flushing, a high pitched noise would start that sounded like a high screeching noise. One of the elevators was also making a weird noise, but I'm assuming they're already aware of that. All on all, would stay there again!
Oh yeah, the tv has both Netlfix as well as Viaplay.

On the surface a nice place to stay. In reality just ordinary low budget crap. My wife and I arrived and received a family room including two bunk beds. However, the extra pillow ordered was missing.
We left for our party. Later my daughter and her children arrived to the hotel and was handed the key to a double room even she had ordered a double room. It turned out that the staff had swopped our names. Mistake happens but it is not okay that we as guests had to sort out the mistakes, move bags etc. even we were supposed to be at a party not moving luggage.
We did not even receive an apology for their mistake.
Next morning we had breakfast. Boring with all food ready made at factories. All bread coming from industry bakery instead of coming from the local baker. Just boring and cheap bread. Focus was food available for vegans, lactose intolerant or gluten intolerant guests. The hotel should instead focus on high-quality products for the majority of the guests.
Not a place to stay if you want a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. It is creatively decorated and well kept. We have an electric car and it could be charged in the garage for 200 crowns (including parkingfee for 24 hours). The hotel is located at the border of the town.

Been trying to visit the skybar several times and this is my experience:
First visit - Restaurant was full but we could sit and wait if we wanted to in the lobby, but no estimated time and they might close the restaurant before we would be seated. We decided to have dinner elsewhere. Second visit - The skybar was full. Third visit - This time we made sure to call to book a table, but apparently they did not take reservations. We called back again to ask how long they would serve food and they informed us that they would serve smaller dishes and would stay open a while longer, which we thought was fine. When we then arrived the staff asked us if we were visiting the skybar, in which we responded yes. Then the staff asked us for proof of vaccination, which one of us had left at home. We told them that they did not inform us over the phone, nor did it state on their social media or official website that they needed this, in which the staff responded by pointing at a small printed sign at the front desk. How are we supposed to know this beforehand (of course we would have brought proof of vaccination if it was clear that it was requested)? So for the third time, we went home, hungry and a bit disappointed since we were looking forward to see the skybar.
Now, today's experience is the reason why I decided that I had to write a review, since the three previous attempts at visiting the skybar were not very successful. I went there with a friend. When we arrive at the skybar, the staff in the bar greeted us by saying that he will close in 15min because he is going home and was not even supposed to be working today. I asked the staff when they usually close and he responded around 10PM on weekdays. We asked if we could buy a drink and stay at the skybar (there were a lot of people and it was just past 9PM) in which he again responded that he was not even supposed to work and had to go home so everyone had to leave in 15min. We ended up quickly finishing a glass of sparkling water while enjoying the sunset and the beautiful views.
Poor experience by this facility so far. It is new, modern and very trendy but it is unclear if they even want to have guests there. The staff are friendly but not very accommodating or informative towards people that want to visit the skybar (I understand that this could be because of lack of training, unclear information/organization or management). Being a facility that boasts themselves of having the greatest viewpoint of the city, they could do better with their service and have some structure, as it is confusing to me whether they want guests at the skybar or not. This facility has a lot of potential but I will not be spending my money here until they actually show that they start caring more about their guests, who just want to enjoy their services.

I typically do not write reviews but this time I had to share my experience. I was arriving very late way past midnight. The check-in worked friendly and I asked if there would be any chance to get a breakfast in the morning, because I had to leave before the official breakfast opening hour. I was told that that they will try figure out something.
After a few hour good sleep (bed was very comfortable) I had unfortunately leave and went to check out the hotel. I asked if they had a peace of bread to take with me and to my surprise the officer on duty had organized the whole breakfast buffet to be open earlier so that I could eat before leaving. That was kind of service I never had experienced before and I really was feeling to be taken care of. Excellent!

Due to a change in plans, we extended our stay before arrival and I was quite impressed by the communication with the staff. The hotel is new, modern, nice and affordable, located in an industrial office park at the outskirts of Lund, with easy access to freeway and local transportation. Parking is available nearby, yet expensive and hard to figure out. We had a double room on a high floor with a great view that made up for all minor shortcomings. The room was bit smaller than expected, with a “hidden” and very small wardrobe/hanger area, a modern and stylish bathroom, comfy bed, good lighting and great Wi-Fi. The A/C was hard to control and therefore the room was a bit on the warm side, and cleaning was rather superficial. Breakfast was not included in price. Overall, a very good choice for a short stay!

To us at Ligula it is very important that the breakfast is always included. Unfortunately, the same terms and conditions do not apply to an online booking page. It is our space-efficient rooms that allow us to keep our low prices, but of course we want all our guests to have an enjoyable stay and sleep well. Its upsetting to hear that you didn't. A beautiful, modern Hotel with welcoming staff - not including the cleaning personal. If you only stay for a few days, you might not notice - but during my longer term stay of 14+ days, my room wasn't properly cleaned once. The bathroom wasn't cleaned at all. Water stains and dust were becoming more and more disturbing day by day - however, the cleaning personal did not seem to notice. Instead, pant bottles were taken without consent. Besides the bed being made sometimes, the only proof that someone had been in the room at all. Disappointing and unfortunate for an otherwise comfy and neat hotel.

We booked some time in advance and got a good rate for our double room incl breakfast. The room was clean and quite spacious, only a real wardrobe was missing (which doesn't really bother us). Friendly staff. Breakfast was nothing special, but ok quality with a selection of cereals, different kinds of breads and knäckebröd, cheese, sliced cold meats, tea, coffee etc. Be aware that the hotel is about 3 kilometers from the city centre. But the tram station is around the corner and brings you to the train stations within 15 minutes. We can recommend the hotel and would definitely choose it again.

It was a nice stay. Decent location. Nice skybar. Service was a bit poor in the skybar, the chef was very kind and delivered good food. Some of the lobby staff could have been more service minded. The rooms were very clean, the only problem I had was that it was to soft of a bed. Overall a very pleasant stay, the breakfast was good also. The only thing I had problems finding at the breakfast was spoons for the yogurt.

Motel L is a brand newl hotel in Lund between Lund C and ESS (Tram 1)! The rooms are very practical, the beds are extra comfortable, and the breakfast is very tasty with more than enough gluten-free options. The absolut best at the hotel are the people and the view from the skybar (in particular at sunset)!
