Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have stayed at Rotoiti holiday park on and off for the last 12 years, Its a great setting and really suits a fishing/boating weekend away. The facilities are reasonably tidy and do the job. I have always found the hosts to be very accommodating and helpful till our last stay. Your current "Manager" is a shocker and really needs to learn some people skills. Through out our stay we were being constantly watched and nagged at by said manager, basically treated like young hoolagins. Learn to read people and get some manners! A simple good morning will work wanders rather than treating people like there out to wreck the place! Felt like we were walking on egg shells when ever we were back at the camp, no wander we were the only people staying there. Oh and don't forget anything on your trip especially sheets because you wont receive nothing from the manager as it seems just to hard for her (heavy duty canvas bed covers are not good to sleep on).I hope there is some changes soon as it really is a great place and we wish to return soon but is let down big time by the current manager and her lack of people skills.

We booked two cabins for the opening of fishing as we have done on previous occasions, and have also stayed in same cabins on closing day each time we payed $100.00per unit per night, and had paid a deposid based on this price as was quoted to us on previous stay. You can imagine our dismay when we arrived they tried to charge us 50% more, this type of overcharging does not do the camp any credit.we will not be staying again.

Great location.Dirty cabin it had not been cleaned properly. Cobwebs & leaky roof !!Supposedly upgraded as had months earlier booked a different cabin on site instead it was a downgrade! manager lacks PR skills.Poor lighting in grounds at night time.
Kitchen & bathroom amenities poorly serviced. laundry facilities badly need servicing half the time out of order.Games /lounge rm dirty. When checking in make sure you ask to look at your cabin before paying the balance,we were not shown & asked to pay first. Very disappointing as had booked for 6 people & ended up been given a pokey cabin with 2 sets of bunks.Very hard sleeping on canvas mattresses! We were made to pay for a minimum of 7 nights while others were staying 1,2 or 3 nights.

Decided to go kayaking on lake rotoiti and thought it would be nice to stay at the lake rotoiti Holiday Park as the only holiday park in the area. However found sign on gate when we got there saying that park was now closed to the public and was leased out to permanent residents.
Don't bother going here as now longer open.

Recently spent 3 weeks in NZ travelling around. Due to some festival in Taupo were booked into Lake Rototiti Holiday Park for 2 nights by isite centre in Taupo. The park is virtually a fishing camp. Cabin was cleanish but that is the best we can say. Beds uncomfortable, No running water in kitchen, Had to wash dishes where fish had been cleaned, BBQ greasy and unclean, even in the kitchen. Dusty road outside cabin left a layer of dust over everything. Left after 1st night, could not stay a 2nd.

We used to frequent this holiday a lot.
We planned a camp here one weekend only to turn up and find the camp was closed to the public . There are still signs up on the highway saying this is a holiday park as well as signs at the park for reception. There is no reception anymore.
Very sad this beautiful spot is no longer available to the public , now just for the rich. Disappointing to be sure

Views of the lake from the room, linen towels and coffee provided, shower and toilet in same block, kitchen and barbeque area right there as well. Sky movies and sports, canoes, a spa pool set on the lake edge and friendly accommodating hosts. Awesome value at $60 a couple per night!

Great facilities a bit over priced but fine but fit for purpose. Will not return however as the lady running the place was extremely unreasonable and bullish in her approach to everything. Made me and other guests I was with feel like we were a burden from start to finish.

An amazingly quite and secluded holiday park with a mixture of holiday cabins and holiday homes. Fantastic place to take the family with a wonderful playground and free kayaks to use on the lake. Will definitely return.

I have just spent 3 days here for a relaxing weekend away. Quite a small camp compared to what we usually go to, but still very good. Only a 1/2 min walk to lake edge from the site we had (No. 8). Good TV room, not that we used it at all. Spa Pool available for use for a few hours each evening, that sits in the lake at the lake edge. Kayaks etc available for free use. Also a small "beach" area set up with a couple of loungers on lake edge.
Barbecue areas near kitchen and one outside TV room on lake edge.
Bathroom areas quite dated but still ok to use. Only 2 showers tho and there could be a bit of a queue at busy times. Small kitchen area with sinks, 2 fridge freezers and 2 ovens. Laundry was a bit pokey and dark, with limited basins, but a few washing machines. Once again didn't need to use this area.
Good set up, and quite a busy place the past 3 days. Seems popular with regulars. A good spot for adults and children.
Okere Falls Store is about 15 mins walk away and has great muffins and other food. Otherwise it is a few minute drive.
I'll definitely look at going here again, especially as it is only about 15 mins drive from where we live, but feels like a complete holiday place!

"There is one motel unit on site, so book early. We stayed in a self contained cabin, which had kitchen, dining, toilet and bathroom facilities. It was mainly one room with the toilet and shower in a separate room."
