Nice hotel in a good location. Very clean, we stayed 3 nights and the cleaner came 2 times, we had a nice view from the room. On the negatives I will put that once it had lukewarm water and not hot, the fridge made a bit of noise and the breakfast was nothing special.

I have stayed twice in the past 2 weeks. Everything is clean and comfortable. A fridge, kettle and great WiFi were my priority and a pool to cool off, although it was very small it did the job. The staff are super friendly and helpful especially Sounia who bent over backwards to be of assistance (thank you) Breakfast was adequate, maybe a toaster would be beneficial 👍
Will certainly see you again next year.. 😊

Family owned hotel, with the Island hospitality you would expect. Been years since I'v been there, but last I saw they had made huge improvements with a top deck area and other things. Great peaceful area with stunning views. Public transport was a bit scarce at the time, a bus every hr and nothing on sundays, but who knows, that may be better now. Just check with them. A rental car would be the best way to get around the Island anyway. If you get stuck I'm sure they would offer to take you down town no problem. :-)

We stayed one night in this hotel.
We slept badly, our top sheets had been forgotten… hopless to have the reception at bedtime, so we slept without.
Obviously they apologized (even if it was not to the right person since they did not come to find us to apologize). They gave as justification that they had not checked, also complaining about the bad comment that could result from it.
They nevertheless took great care to add sheets when we were at breakfast…perhaps so that we no longer have to complain about it. But staying only one night these are of no use to us
If you plan to count on the swimming pool it is not very big and not very well exposed.
The breakfast is not good, and after 9 am there is not much left.
Hot water comes once the shower is over.
In short, if you have the choice, I do not advise you to go there.

We had a great stay at this friendly hotel. Owners were always checking that everything ok and asking if we needed anything.
Our room was on the ground floor and we had a lovely private garden..The bed was very comfortable and room was kept spotless. Thankfully the air conditioning worked well as weather was hot. A nice touch was the pod coffee machine in our room.
The continental breakfast was delicious.

Pros :
* Calm location, and close to the airport
* Close to the beach if you have a car
* Nice staff
* Cheap
Cons :
* Unbearable temperature in the room at night (hotter than in the corridors for some reason)
* A/C not working properly (and making noise)
* Small bed
* no view from the windows/balcony
A hotel when I cannot sleep is not a good hotel...

Response from George Z, Assistant General Manager at Kourkoumelata Hotel
Responded 10 Apr 2012
Right to reply: With reference to the review dated Sept 2011 we can confirm that the Hotel Kourkoumelata is under new management from November 2011 and all issues regarding the air conditioning have been addressed. All rooms have a sea view or a mountain view and consist of a large double bed or a single bed and other amenities. We look forward to providing our guests with the best of Greek hospitality for summer 2012.

A wonderful quiet little hotel situated away from the busy parts of the Agostoli region. Our room was one of two suites with their own entrance and very well equipped and spotlessly clean with a top quality daily room service. Super views towards the island of Xante in the distance. The owners gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived and throughout the stay were extremely helpful with nothing being too much trouble. Lovely Greek style buffet breakfast each morning taken in the pretty outside courtyard. We would happily stay here again

My sister booked this place. Upon recieving the keys, it took us 10 minutes to get into the room. Don't make the mistake I did by jamming the lock. I put the key fully into the door, when you are only supposed to partially put it in to unlock it. You have to use the key to lock it from the inside too.
The breakfast...well what do you expect from a 2 star hotel. Do yourself a favor and walk 2 blocks to the cafe near by. Very cheap, delicious, food with a very nice view.
This is not a hotel you want to stay at if you do not rent a car, and plan on going into town often. Each taxi ride was 15 euro.
Now my main reason for writing this review was something the host had done to my mother. My sister had paid for the hotel prior to lodging. My mother did not know that, and went to go pay herself in the office. This is what we had done for many previous nights at other places in Greece.
There was a lack of communication on our part, and we understand that however the owner gladly took her money knowing that my sister already paid. As soon as my mom walked into the room telling us she paid, my sister stormed down there and scolded him, and demanded he charge back her card immediately. He said he would have his wife give us euro in the morning. That did not cut it, and he was on the phone moments later with the credit card company refuting the charge. We received all the paperwork needed, and left the next morning.
Lastly, the owners like to leave many times a day. So if you are checking in, and they are not there, well good luck. I heard some poor woman around midnight walking around frantic trying to check in. They turn off the lights in the main lobby at night.
positives: close to beaches, nice walks through the villages
