The food is delicious, very clean hotel, clear and warm sea with waves. The complex is elegantly designed, very quiet, and only a 15-minute drive from the city. The staff is friendly and always at your service, basically a very pleasant atmosphere!

The place is wonderful, it's quiet, full of green and the beach is very close to the rooms. The variety of foods thanks to the chef Fotis Liapis and his crew are very delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Stayed in Jo-An Beach for two weeks in September. First of all, I must say, it's really not a four star hotel. If you look for fancy, then not a place for you. But if you look for a nice quiet hotel at the beach, then it's perfect. We stayed in standard room and it was decent. It was quite roomy and had everything a room should have, also bathroom with a bath. They cleaned the rooms daily, changed sheets and towels every three days (in my opinion thats enough). All the staff was very attentive and friendly. They read their customers very well - they were super friendly and chatty if you wanted them to and were more reserved when you didn't look like you wanted company. Food was also good, quite a lot to choose from. Specially liked that I could have breakfast til 10am. Hotel also had a small pool, which is good, because the waves on the beach can be quite big some days. If the sea is more quiet, then the beach is fantastic. I didn't have a problem getting in and out, but some seniors found watershoes helpful (you can buy them in any supermarket). There wasn't a lot to do and see in Adelianos Kampos (only lots of supermarkets), bigger town Retymono was 7km away, but you could take the bus for 1.30 in every half an hour. Minuses: I didn't really love to pay extra for sunbeds and wi-fi, but I heard that this is really common in Crete and Creece, so not only this hotel's problem.

Hotel is well located, quiet, with beautiful territory, just near the sea, 10 minutes ride to Rethymnon center. Rooms are clean, equipped with fridge and kettle. That's all good about this hotel.

During COVID crisis services are organised just awful. Once you arrive to the hotel, reception staff will not check in you due to Corona - you will have to do it by yourself, online. This is not comfortable and might be an issue for older people. Also not clear how this can help against the Corona.

Furthermore, we were advised by hotel staff that due to COVID, rooms will be cleaned only once per 3-4 days, which is also weird and not logical. During this cleaning nobody took dirty dishes from the room, and in overall cleaning was not good enough. We got dirty towels as "new" ones.

And the worst thing is that you may wait in queue to have your meal around 40 min and then you cannot take additional cup of tea or slice of bread if you need, you will be asked to go again to the end of queue. This is because only hotel staff (but the way 2-3 persons only) can put you the food, so they accompany each guest and do it extremely slow.

The Hotel could be very nice and cute. But it is so so dirty! They dont clean the rooms properly, or anything for that matter. When we arrived, our room was very dirty-dust everywhere, someones long black hair on the floor and in the bath. It wasnt a nice welcome. The restaurant is not clean. You have to wear a mask and one! glove, but some of the staff dont wear a mask and none of them wear gloves. So I didnt quite understand this. There's food on the floor and food itself is not nice either. There were cigarettes in the pool, the cleaning lady saw it and walked away. After cleaning the floor around the pool, she threw the dirty water just next to the pool, on the floor again. We left a sign on the door every day, so that our room would be cleaned. But we had to ask from the reception for someone to come back and clean the floors and change sheets. Also we had to ask for toilet paper because they never checked or cleaned the bathroom.
In conclusion, I dont know to who I could recomend this Hotel. At a time like this, cleanlines should be the most important thing. But this Hotel was everything but clean. It wasnt a very good place for long waited holiday!

The pictures of this hotel rooms were made by an excellent photographer, probably very skilled in photoshop! Unfortunately, the real view is very different. The hotel rooms are badly in need of renovation, They look really shabby . Bathrooms and toilet - change of floor and wall tiles, rooms - new furniture and paint, etc.
To be fair, the mattresses were new and of good quality.
Food was good and acceptable.
To make the long story short, it is no way 4*, just 2*+.
Our friends were very unhappy, as well as some other tourists, who expected much more for the 4* promise.
Beware or Greek/Cretan stars!

My husband and I had an amazing two weeks staying at Jo-Ann Beach Hotel. The staff are some of the most friendly, welcoming and attentive people we have ever had the pleasure to meet whilst on holiday. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our room could probably do with a bit of an update, however it was clean, very functionable and the bed was more comfortable than our one at home! A hairdryer was provided. The housekeeping lady did a wonderful job every day. I lost count of the number of times our sheets and towels were changed.

The food was amazing. Breakfast consisted of cold meats, yoghurt, a wide selection of fruit, bread and croissants, along with a large array of hot food, plus tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juices. Lunch and dinner included beautiful salads, soup, a wide variety of cuisine to choose from for a main course, as well as a number of desserts and fruit. All tastes are very well catered for. Children are particularly well looked after by the wide variety of food on offer. No one will go hungry.

The hotel itself and surrounding areas were very clean and well kept. The two bars offer a well stocked list of wines, beer, spirits and cocktails. There are two swimming pools, both with a small cordoned off area for young children. Whilst the pools are not particularly big, they are very clean. The hotel sits right on the sandy beach where you can pay 2.50 Euros for a sun lounger. Sun loungers by the pools are free. Beach towels are available for 2.50 Euros for the course of your stay.

The biggest assets to this hotel are the staff and food (as mentioned above) and also the location. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets within walking distance, and also restaurants if you fancy a change. The public bus stop to Rethymno is a one minute walk from the hotel and costs 1.20 Euros per trip regardless of how far you are travelling. We booked all our trips through Klados who have a branch (bright orange) just two minutes from the hotel. They offer a wide range of trips and we could not fault their service and standard of coaches. They are very prompt and be warned, they do not wait for latecomers. If you are not at the pick-up point at the stated time, they will leave without you (having tried to call you first).

We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately, overal one of the worst hotels we stayed at. Quite disorganised and with mediocre service, which makes this a 2 stars max. Not a 4 for sure.

At arrival we found 2 glasses and two coffee mugs, which were never replaced, instead they were washed under the sink in the toilet, and put back. How do I know? They were upside down on the table leaking, with coffee stains still on them.

Bedsheets were never replaced, and we even had to ask once for someone to come clean the room, despite us leaving the card on the door in the morning.

The pools were small, and seemingly not clean. They were secluded, which did not invite us to jump in even once during the whole stay. You had to push the toilet button at least 4 times before any water came out to flush.

But the greatest disappointment was the food. The restaurant was really too small for an hotel offering an all inclusive solution: that made for long queues in the morning, as well as at lunch and dinner. All proteins, aside from lamb, and all was badly prepared. No taste, chewy, overcooked or dry. The two safest options would have been bread and boiled vegetables, but both smelled and tasted old. We had the feeling that they were trying to save money on all levels so to deliberately stop people from eating. After a couple of days we decided to never eat at the hotel anymore, except for coffee in the morning: this was a challenge in itself, given that during service the coffee machines would stop working, creating queues once more.

The only plus point, were the lovely cats walking around the whole place.

The location of the hotel is great, close to sea. Room was not cleaned (dusting etc), only sanitised daily. Cockroach in the bathroom. No options to dry ones towels or bathrobes (no heated racks etc). Mattresses very hard.

Breakfast was quite bad - dry and tasteless. Dinner was quite OK, but I would recommend to eat out still. Service in restaurant was good considering the pressure they were under, but no fancy table cloths or napkins as in the pictures. Rushed.

Service at Reception was good, usually requests were met in 24 h

Great location on the beach (need special shoes for swimming), beautiful surrounding atmosphere - actually you live in the park zone in small and cozy town house.
We stayed in a family room, that fully corresponds to the photos on the home page. It was clean, very spacious, with a terrace. The only disappointing thing was that the pillows were very firm. I would have liked softer ones 😉
Honestly, the restaurant should increase the space so to avoid people waiting in the queue in high season. But the food was great with a large variety (always replenished), which is very important especially when you travel with kids. Good quality and wide choice of meal all day for each family member depending on tastes. It is impossible to describe all the dishes, thank you to the Chef for excellent culinary experience!
Would recommend this hotel for a family trip for sure!
