Typical city hotel. The location is very convinient as the it's near the centre and the bus to the airport passes right outside the hotel. The staff is friendly and the breakfast adequate. The only downsides are the bit expensive prices, especially if you compare it to hotels at the centre of Athens and the soundproof in the rooms.

Beautiful boutique hotel, located right in the heart of Athens. A visit to many nearby spots of cultural and entertainment interest is very convenient, just with a few minutes walk. The hotel overall is very elegant & recently renovated, while the rooms are literally spotlessly clean, very comfortable & accommodating, with a possibility to have great views over the vibrant Vassilissis Sofias Avenue (without the hassle of noise in the room though, due to excellent soundproofing!), but also to the Imittos hill. The hotel personnel’s warm hospitality & helpfulness make the guest feel very welcome & at home. To top it all off… delicious breakfast in a very cosy environment plus great options for coffee/ drinks/ meal room service.

I had to take one of our dogs to Athens for a Scan and a vet visit as he has spinal problems. My husband and I stayed at the Athinais Hotel around 2 years previously and when I found it was "pet friendly" I booked my dog and I in for 2 nights. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, I had a nice spacious room over looking the road, as I had requested, and Sam the dog seemed to like being there too - he loved the main road for his walks, he has never seen so much traffic!! Breakfast was obviously room service only and it was a very, very good breakfast - you could also order food from the Bistro until 12:45 and after 13:00 there was a list of nearby places which would deliver food to the hotel. All in all a very pleasant visit, although not for the best of reasons. Definitely would book again for any trips to Athens.

A congress brought me to Athens. I stayed four nights at Athinais hotel, which is located on an important boulevard not far from the opera and the American embassy, and would return there. The room was cool and quiet (rear side of the building), the personnel very friendly. I also tried out the restaurant, which serves goof food for a reasonable price.

We stayed for one night, on our way back from a week long trip. We chose this hotel because is conveniently located, a 5' walk from the Megaro Moussikis metro stop (Line 2), which took us to the Airport the next day at 5 am). It is not located close to the main attractions, but the Metro serves its purpose there. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the US Embassy and maybe a 10' walk from the Panathinaikos Stadium (on a Sunday, you can hear the crowd during a soccer game).

The room was small, but clean, with two comfortable beds and good Wi-fi. The bathroom was also small and clean, with a compact shower.

The staff was very friendly and prepare a breakfast box for us, since we left vey early in the morning. A big plus for the hotel.

We only stayed one night but I would have stayed longer. This is a fairly basic hotel which is what we were looking for because we were only staying one night before going to the airport. I chose it because it is close to the metro and breakfast was included. It delivered on both and more! The staff was helpful in recommending good places to eat nearby. The room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was great.

The Hotel is very good, nice and clean and the staff were excellent. After a very small issue which it was my mistake the reception team especially Anna handled it very correctly. If you are planning to book at the hotel just do it. R405 November 29.

I needed a hotel for 2 weeks in Athens that was reasonably priced in a safe location as I was travelling alone. Visiting relatives/friends/shopping etc.
The hotel is located on one of the busiest streets in Athens. Although the view was OK, you could never leave the balcony door open as the noise was REALLY loud. (I was on the 6th floor).
I requested non-smoking. The room still smelled like smoke. I think the smoke travelled up from the 5 lower floors. The hotel was very clean - but minimal. No help with luggage. Nothing ever in mini-bar. Only soap was provided as toiletry item. No safe. The shower stall was unbelievably small (and I'm not a big person). The hotel staff never cracked a smile, and spent more time telling me the rules. I was constantly being told to leave my key at the front desk - even when I said I'm only grabbing a sandwich then coming back. Although I was in a very safe area of Athens - I didn't feel 'safe' at the hotel. I felt they were a bunch of busy-bodies watching my every move. There is NO shopping in the area. The metro stop is only a 5 minute walk. I absolutely hated the 'attitude' at the hotel and regardless of the 67Euros/night for a single - I left after 1 week and relocated to the Golden Age @ 120Euros/night and a much classier act. If you want a hotel that's got a great price, clean, noisy location with nothing around and with bad attitude - you should stay at the Athinais. Remember - you might have to lend them your cell phone to book you a taxi, as their phone lines are always down.......Back to the Golden rule - You only get what you pay for.....

Selected this hotel on recommendation as it was nearest to where we needed to be and easy to get to by bus or metro from airport.
Asked for quiet room and were placed on fourth floor at rear of hotel. So far so good.
From here on in it started to go down hill. There is a TV in the room but the reception on English language channels, BBC world news, CNN etc it awful makining them impossible to watch.
Further to this, maximum volume is set so low you have to strain to hear what's being said!!
Our room was far too warm which, initially thinking the air con would sort this out, we gave the benefit of the doubt and went out for the evening.
Putting on air con when we got back, this was noisey and blew out hot air even on coldest setting which made it useless. We resorted to having to sleep with window open to get some cool air into room, but this let in all the nearby traffic noise!! Not a good nights sleep!!
One redeeming feature is the breakfast food is fresh and tasty, but it didn't make up for the rest.
We got a discounted rate of 65€, quite honestly we've stayed in much better for less.
We decided to leave after one night and found a 4 star hotel nearby that was 10€ cheaper.

Dear Guest, thank you for contacting us. There is a variety of places to go to: a number of nice bars is located very close to Athinais Hotel at Mavili Square (like Briki, Lora's, Kyrios, etc.). You may also visit Kolonaki area, which has a very nice night life. Kolonaki is 7mins by taxi or 20-30mins walking distance. Last but not least, I'd strongly suggest you contact our reception desk and ask for more details, or share more of your interests, so that we may give you a more specific answer and suggestion on where to go and how to get there. Hope the above are helpful to you, Ioanna Alexandrou Communications Director
