We booked this hotel because we wanted to stay near where my daughter is renting a flat. We were warmly welcomed in English thankfully as my modern Greek is limited to a few phrases. The staff were friendly and helpful and provided us with a map and instructions on how to access public transport. The double room on the fourth floor was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a little dated but everything worked. For the 40 euros a night or so we were paying it was more than adequate. Breakfast had plenty of choice. No tea making facilities in the room but there is a television.
I was a little dubious before booking this hotel as it didn't have many reviews, and none of them were recent but I prefer to stay at independent hotels as I manage one myself and find that the overall quality of service is better than a large chain. We're not the sort of people who spend a lot of time in our room and generally only use it to sleep so we found it adequate, however they could do with some updating (especially the paintwork), and the safe didn't have keys or batteries which meant that it didn't work. the standard of cleanliness was satisfactory but I think additional time spent cleaning the rooms (ie dusting the lamps) would increase the rating greatly. The standard of cleanliness and decor in the bar/reception and breakfast areas was very very good, the air conditionaing was excellent, and Breakfast was good, and fresh. We had to leave very early for a tour on one day and the staff put coffee and cakes on the bar for us beforehand which was lovely of them. The staff are EXCELLENT! Very friendly - we met four staff, who greeted us like good friends every day, and with a lot of enthusiasm. There is a nice greek restaurant around the corner (do-re-mi) and a convenience store on the next corner. Taxis to the centre are around 5 euros. To summarise, it is a very basic hotel, but was adequate for our needs, and the staff really shone.…
I booked here at the last minute for a break in Athens. A little outside the city centre but with excellent public transport no problem. Great for seeing the way real Athenians live, walking distance from Fokionos Negri street which is great for people watching and loads of restaurants. Clean and tidy but old fashioned, good breakfast, not huge but very adequate. Friendly, helpful staff . very good value. Wifi in rooms poor. A/C very good. shower small but adequate
I have very fond memories of my stay in this warm and welcoming hotel. Excellent service, very accommodating staff; they will truly go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and meet your needs. Good location as well; very near the center yet in a quite neighborhood. You'll also get a chance to explore some Greek-style art deco homes and the hustle and bustle of everyday Athenians. Price-quality is perfect.
I'm not sure about the stars it has and certainly I can't stand up for its commodity or furnishings, but from my experience it suffice if you want to sleepover and make one or two days visit of the monuments in Athens (it is not too far from Acropolis, even in a walking distance). It has every basic requirement and, what was most important to me, it has a private parking (and anyone who has driven his own car in Athens knows what I mean). The staff is quite correct and fair, the breakfast is satisfactory and cleanness is... OK, it is not so bad. Oh, and I almost forgot: it has Wi-Fi and functional internet!
