We spend 5 days here while we where in Athens . The staff was polite and helpful with all the information we need it ! The breakfast was ok with not so many choices . The room was clean but a little bit old in style! The metro station was 1 minute walk and 2 stations away from center ! Also really close by foot witch I recommend since you walk through historic roads and open markets of Athens !

Me and my boyfriend checked in to Hotel Minoa, we were on the fourth floor. the staff were very friendly and they assisted us with everything we needed. It is close to the city center. The only unfortunate thing was the bathroom -the shower was very small. Fair to price.

The area is a bit degraded, but hotel is very close to metro station, that allows you to reach the main attractions in few minutes. Hotel is simple with a bit old furniture and small bathroom, but clean. Friendly and helpful staff.
Overall great value for money.

I can not say enough good things about this hotel. It, of course, is a budget hotel which means that, if you expect the services of a five stars hotel, you will probably get dissapointed but if you simply look for a lovely, clean, safe place located just 5 minutes from the metro that allows you to reach the city center in a few stops, then search no more. The staff is very friendly, some of them speak Italian and they all speak English. I had an issue when there were rude people in the room next to mine who screamed, cried and so on all night long and the staff not only supported me calling them during the night asking to be quite but they also moved me to another, more quiet room so I could enjoy my time there more. They also provide transporation to the airport (you can easily get there by metro but since I am a female who travels alone, having to depart at 5am, I chose to book a taxi) and they also partner with a tourist agency which offers various tours, including to the islands. they are a bit pricey, but along the other prices I have seen. Due to bad weather I didn't take any so I can't comment on the service. Close to the hotel there is a café where you can have breakfast and they can also bring breakfast to your room. There also are a few restaurants a few minutes from the hotel.

I would surely suggest this hotel to anyone looking for a budget but safe, friendly and clean hotel right in the center of Athens.

The Minoa Hotel, not to be confused with another Minoa Hotel (an informal beachfront hotel with a pool), is located in Athens. When we entered the hotel, the lobby was beautiful. We were greeted by a friendly host who gave us our room key and a bottle of cold water. It has a 3 person elevator. The rooms were a very good size. We had 2 rooms: 1 with a single and double bed, and 1 with two single beds. There is a closet with hangers, air conditioning and a small fridge (no iron). Something to note however, is the lack of plug in outlets (we only found 3 plugs). Luckily, we brought an adapter that allowed for 1 outlet to make many USB ports so we were still okay. The shower had a good water pressure and was a great temperature. The beds were very comfy. Some rooms have just a shower, and some have a bathtub. Downstairs, attached to the hotel, was a little Cafe ("Dimello"). It served delicious homemade snacks and sandwiches. It also had a variety of hot and cold drinks. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the Athens Line 2 Metro (Metaxourghio. This is the stop located west of Omonoia Square). When you leave, you drop your key at the front desk for safety. The wifi was perfect.

We had a wonderful experience. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and even called taxis for us when we needed them. The rooms were quaint and clean. It is a great location not far from many of the historical sites.

The best thing about this hotel was the staff. Everyone there treated us like family. When we got there we had a problem figuring out the A/C and they were all over it. When we left, they practically carried us to our taxi, which was already waiting for us. The room was comfortable. The location is a short walk to the Metro station, which we used extensive. Syntagma Square and the Acropolis were just a few stops away.

I found this hotel after we canceled on a hotel I initally booked. The area of this hotel is not great, but I found that it was relatively safe to walk at night. The best thing about this hotel is that it is less than kilometer away from metro station 'Metaxourghio' which as others mentioned is 3 stops the from the Acropoli station, 2 from Syntagma. The hotel accomodations was decent. I paid about 170 euro for 3 nights. The hotel owner or worker tried to get me at 70 euro a night but I was able to bring him down. The room smelled like cigarrettes. This hotel is just what it should be a place to rest your head and take a shower. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast they had. The food was good but not great. All veggies and fruits were fresh. I do recommend this hotel, and for those reviews that say the neighborhood is bad, those ppl must be living in Pleasantville.

Stayed for one night only, mainly based on the previous reviews. which seemed to indicate a decent hotel. We were given a family room on the 4th floor, no. 41-42. The room was filthy, the overall size of the rooms and bathroom together was less than 20sqms. Breakfast is awful as well, cleanness and food quality being non existent. We had to go over next door to another hotel and grab something.
Although this is advertised as a 3 star hotel, I would not even rate it as 1 star.
A definite NO on all accounts
