When writing this review I was conflicted between giving the Delphi Art Hotel 3/4 stars. The location is highly convenient for sightseeing, considering it has a metro station a mere 300m from it. This metro has a direct link to the Acropolis just three stops away and allows you to access with relative ease much of Athens. Within the vicinity (10-15 minute walk) there are lots of very good restaurants and bars. However, be prepared to see many people using injectable drugs during broad daylight and within busy streets right outside the hotel - according to locals, a big issue currently in Athens and more specifically within Omonia. We had a room facing inside, which was cold, with no heater and poorly decorated, however they moved us without issue the following day. We asked for a front facing room with a street view. The decor in this room was much improved and it was reasonably sized, with a heater. The room was clean and soaps were replenished daily. The bathrooms had good facilities and showers were excellent with strong water pressure and constant hot water. Service was good: staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was inclusive and reasonable - I was a large fan of the filter coffee, which was refillable! We were half board, therefore breakfast and dinner was also included. The dinner was not our favourite, made worse by the fact there was no choice! Though, having said that, the salad was different each day and mostly enjoyable!

The hotel is rather centrslly located, about 10-15min to Plaka and the major sights. 5min walk from Omonia square with a metro station.
The neighbouring alleys are partly a bit shady and are better avoided at night but there are alternative streets to walk through.
The hotel itself has seen better times: furniture and decoration are slightly outdated and worn (thin carpet, scratches on furniture pieces). However, everything was very clean and working.
My room contained aircon, tv, safe, kettle (but no coffee or cups) and had a balcony to shaft.
The shower was pleasantly powerful.
The breakfast was comprehensive with hot dishes, cold cuts & cheese, Greek yoghurt, cereals, juices, filter coffee and coffee specialties. The young staff at the breakfast restaurant was very kind and multilingual.
The reception staff (especially Vaya) was very helpful & kind and offered good advice and a little chat.
I felt welcome and enjoyed my stay.

Quick trip to Athens where the main purpose was to visit the Parthenon but you need somewhere to sleep, as we did not plan to spend much time in the hotel and did not want to spend silly money we found a cheap deal so did not expect 5 star hotel. What we did get was somewhere clean and comfortable, yep it was not in the centre but it was close enough and the metro tickets were cheap (check out the 5 day pass) yes there were quite a few homeless about but I live in Central London so I am used to that only difference is I could not offer those I passed in Athens foodbank vouchers like I can in London, we had no problem with them begging and none of them were aggressive they just had nowhere to live but if you don't want to see this go stay in a 5 star somewhere that the homeless are moved on. The Breakfast was fine, plenty of choice but unless you got there early or when it was replenished the hot choices were not always hot, but there was always plenty to set you up for the day. The only downside was the school groups that use this place as it is so cheap but we only had to ask once and the group leader made sure the noise level was reduced...I've taken youths on trips and understand they get excited but like the leader we encountered also made sure they knew not to disturb other people but you may have to ask them to ssshhhhh

I contacted the hotel (Delphi Art Hotel) a week before I was due to check-in to confirm they could accommodate an arrival time to coincide with my flight and I was pleased to receive a response saying they could. However, on arrival I was shocked to find that the hotel was closed and had notices on the doors and windows saying that the hotel was closed and that all guests who had made reservations were to go to Breeze Boutique Hotel (1/2km away), where they would have to stay instead. While the standard of the alternative hotel was similar it was a modern corporate hotel, not the 1930s art deco hotel which I booked which was very disappointing. The hotel is still accepting reservations on your site and other sites, despite being closed which I don't think is acceptable. If they are closed they should stop taking reservations and contact all people who have made reservations to inform them of the hotel being closed.

The perfect place for exploring Athens. Very close to Omonia square and public transport, one metro stop away from Acropolis and the old town. Great breakfast with lots of choices and very helpful/friendly staff. Spacious clean room and bathroom!”

Great position for sightseeing, spacious and cleen rooms, good breakfest. You can go for all locations by foot. If you want to go to Pireaus or Glifada, metro station to Pireaus or metro to Sintagma square where you can go to tram to Glifada is just 5 minutes away.

Good deal for you money

We were really looking forward to staying in this hotel. The pictures looked pretty cool, but when we got there we were very disappointed by the state of our room - please see pix.
Holes in the wall and furniture, split in the seating, door knobs off, debris in the drawers, vinyl flooring had gaps, the bathroom ceiling showed water damage and the mattress was so lumpy that my husband didn't sleep well.
We would have complained, but the older woman at the front desk seemed like she was less than empathetic based on our check in experience.
Add to that, we were in a very sketchy part of Athens, with someone shooting drugs outside our front door the next morning.

The breakfast they serve is excellent but they don't have restaurant to serve lunch or dinner. The receptionists are very cooperative but the hotel needs to improve on its decoration, lighting and other amenities. Being located in the heart of the city the facilities should be best available.

I booked this hotel half a year ago, but when I get there, they tell me that there are no places and transfer me to the nearby Achillion Hotel, which is rated even worse. There is hot water only sometimes, water leaks from the refrigerator, breakfast is poor, there is little choice, only cucumbers and carrots are available from vegetables, and the worst thing is the environment in the streets, it is full of drug addicts, drugs are sold right on the street. Look for another area and another hotel, it's cheating and scary here.

The suite was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was delighted when I realized they serve a healthy, hearty breakfast. Definitely great value for the price. Thank you for being awesome! This will be my go-to hotel in the future.

Yes there is an elevator. In my room (203 if I remember correct) there was no balcony. Only a window and I had as view the square and the church in front of the hotel.
