When I got the reservation dates wrong for another hotel, they helped us find a room nearby. The Adrien is in a fun neighborhood with shops and restaurants and just a few blocks from the metro station. The room is simple with a balcony, queen bed, tv and air conditioner. Air conditioner is important since there’s street noise with the balcony door open. The bath is small with a shower including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap and a hair dryer in the room. This was important to us since our luggage didn’t make it. No safe. We borrowed an electrical adaptor for the European outlet from the desk. No USB ports. There is an elevator for those who need it. The breakfast on the roof was a very good buffet with good coffee, eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, yogurt, cheese. Greek salad and fresh squeezed orange Jo ice. The decor is traditional with potted blooming plants and a nice view of the Acropolis. There is unobtrusive netting to keep the birds from begging. The roof is not open at night. I recommend the nearby Plaka Hotel rooftop for cocktails. Beware of pickpockets on the metro. They got my husband’s.

We spent 4 nights at the Adrian Hotel prior to taking a 7 day cruise. The hotel is located about 400 metres from Monastiraki Metro station, less than a 10 minute walk. We paid a little extra for a larger room with a balcony overlooking the square populated with about 3 different restaurants and a clear view to Hadrian's Library. The room was perfectly adequate for a short stay and was cleaned regularly. Air-con and free wi-fi is available as well as a room-safe to secure valuables. An excellent buffet breakfast was taken on the roof with a superb view of the Acropolis in one direction and Lycabettus Hill in the other direction. Surprisingly, many of the 'sights' are all within walking distance from the hotel although the hotel clerk/receptionist will call a taxi, usually arriving within 10 minutes. For those with mobility issues, there are several steps up to the lobby before getting to the lift/elevator and it only goes to the 2nd floor and not to the roof. In conclusion, the Adrian Hotel is a very good choice for those who want a modest hotel in the heart of the Plaka.

This hotel is lovely and brilliantly located. We had an enormous verandah with a wonderful view. Everything was available in the room, mini bar, personal scales (there were also luggage scales in the foyer), hairdryer, iron and ironing board - in fact everything you could possibly need. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was great.

We booked Adrian hotel because of its location and the reviews were fairly good.

The location is perfect, everything is pretty much on your doorstep even the Acropolis is only a 10 min walk (go to the side entrance)

We booked a double with a view of the acropolis and got room 307, it was tiny, dirty and falling apart, we had heavy rain one night and water came through a hole in the wall covered with carbide, we decided it was still ok and didn't complain, but then we had COCKROACHES in the room!!!! No way... I went to reception and sunshine followed me up and then ran out of the room and said wait, he then called us from reception because he was too scared to come back into the room.
We had to pack up everything, take it all down to reception so he could hand us our new keys and go back to the second floor (why not just come give us our keys..) we were told we could only stay there one night and then had to come down before breakfast to switch rooms again for the final night!
Not a single apology
I would rather pay a bit more for a hotel that's better taken care of

terrible, we left exhausted and frustrated after 14 days!
Next door the sound of drilling, knocking, sanding and grinding from 07.00 am. even on Sunday. It was a huge shock when we saw that asbestos plates from the adjacent building were thrown into a truck. The workers did not wear special protective clothing with a mask. The asbestos sheets were not wrapped in plastic (required by law) I asked the owner to contact me but he didn't think it was important. He is only interested in money but not in the well-being of the hotel customers. Hopefully he will still be presented with the bill through this letter. It was my worst stay in 40 years of Greece. In Adrian hotel one should NEVER expect me again!!!
Even the wallpaper in the rooms is dirty and discolored and needs to be replaced, but making costs for the comfort of the customers is not for the owner. The hotel owner should have his license revoked on the basis of this criminal behavior. The conversation with the receptionist was recorded on camera but has probably been deleted in the meantime. With this letter I hope to warn other hotel guests what can happen to them in an emergency situation. By throwing the asbestos down, thousands of asbestos particles were blown onto the terraces of the hotel.

Stayed at the Adrian Hotel in Athens with my family. We booked 2 rooms. The hotel is in a perfect location and right across from Hadrians Library. The rooms were comfortable. The beds could be a little more soft but overall good rooms, hot water available for showers and always got cleaned on time. There are a ton of restaurants within walking distance. You can walk to every historic site from this hotel. The museum, pantheon, arch, shops, etc etc etc ,almost EVERYTHING is within a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
Overall perfect location and great stay. Highly recommend this hotel for its location.

We spent 4 days in Athens at the Adrian Hotel and have now found our perfect location whenever we come to Athens. The hotel is small, charming and very friendly. The rooms are of a good size and with a balcony which was an added bonus. The hotel's location is ideal if you want to be in the Plaka area close to good restaurants and transport connections to Piraeus and the airport. The highlight for us was also being able to have a very good breakfast on the roof terrace gazing up at the Acropolis in the morning sunshine. Very peaceful too.

We went with friends who had been before. We had rooms on the back overlooking the Acropolis. Rooms are perfectly adequate and comfortable. We had a balcony where a glass of wine was consumed overlooking the view prior to going out for a meal in the lovely streets of Athens. The hotel has a lift, very useful especially after a tiring day walking around the sites. Most of the major sites are within walking distance. Restaurants, bars, shops and ice cream shops are very close by. The breakfasts are served in the roof and are excellent. All foods are fresh and tasty.

Great location in the Plaka neighborhood where many restaurants and shops are located. Within walking distance to most of the archeological sites. The morning breakfast on the covered roof was very nice with a great view of the Acropolis. The bathroom was modern and clean with wonderful olive oil based toiletries. Our room had an outdoor patio. The bed could be upgraded and the wall paper was dated. We loved the location and breakfast.

what a great little hotel in a perfect location. Get an Acropolis view room as it is at the back with no street noise. The staff from reception to the room maids are great and speak decent English. The breakfast for a small hotel is brilliant, bacon eggs, sausages toast and coffee with the most delicious fresh orange juice you could wish for. The rooms are adequate with a good bathroom and shower. Good value for money. plenty to do locally and within walking distance of the museum Hadrians gate and the changing of the guard outside the Parliment building. also a good variety of bars and places to eat. Would I return.........Yes
One good tip pre book your taxi to and from the airport as it is a good 45-50 minutes drive. On arrival our driver was waiting for us and on return the taxi was at the hotel to pick us up dead on time.

Yeap, all rooms include a small fridge and a kettle. About the balconies I’m not really sure for all rooms but mine had a small balcony.

We actually took the train from the airport to the station that is about 3-4 blocks away from the hotel. It took about 50 mins to to get there which around the same amount of time by taxi. As for cost it's €8/person to take the train and I am sure for the cost for a taxi would be more expensive. It also depends on the amount of luggage you have too.
