The hotel staff was great, location perfect, breakfast was very good but could use a bit more variety… such as fried eggs or soft boiled instead of hard boiled and scrambled every day, etc.. but what they had was very good. Beds were comfortable and the pillows too. This was very important to me as I recently had a total hip replacement and will be having total knee replacement surgery back to back over the next few months. Hotel was very clean and the coffee and tea station in the lobby was always enjoyed and appreciated. It would be nice if they had an on-site restaurant or sandwich area that served Greek coffee or beverages. The only thing I am unsure about is our room, I had booked a superior room with hopes of having a balcony with chairs and a table to sit and have coffee at. We did have a balcony but it was not big enough or have any seating or a table so I’m not sure we were given the room we actually reserved. We were delayed by a day on arrival due to the Athens/Greece transportation strike so we arrived at 3:00-3:30 in the morning the next day. Regardless it was a good room and we will be staying there again as we go regularly and still have family and friends there. I also booked a separate room (standard) for my daughter and her boyfriend as we took them as a Christmas present to see where her grandparents (my parents) came from and to meet that side of our family. Their room was wonderful! They also loved the breakfast, coffee/tea station, staff and amenities. This was their first time there. So it was a great family trip, I hope to bring my grandson when he is a bit older he’s a toddler now.

Family room, July 2021. Comfortable rooms, great location near syntagma square metro stop which is on the metro line direct from the airport. The family room consisted of two corner rooms with an adjoining door. Each room was made into two twin beds (4 total). Breakfast consisted of a nice variety of foods. I gave a four star rating because the twins were not made into a king and two twins as requested in the reservation but mostly due to the indifference of the front desk staff. I don’t think that we were ever greeted when entering or exiting the property. They would give recommendations when asked but again, not overly helpful or enthusiastic. Overall, they seemed very unenthusiastic and indifferent to having guests at the hotel. Very different from what I’ve previously experienced at such highly rated trip advisor recommend properties. We had the option to stay here again on the last night of our trip but decided to try another hotel.

The patio in the roof is very small and not a highlight of the hotel but we didn’t really need or want to utilize it. It does have a side view of the Acropolis from the upper deck area. The lobby bar area of the hotel was not utilized (likely due to Covid procedures).

We spent two nights at Hermes while in Athens prior to a cruise. The hotel is in a great location and we were able to walk to all the major attractions. Our room was clean and comfortable with AC that worked great. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage so we could begin to explore Athens. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of items from cooked eggs, to meats and cheeses, to pastries, and of course yummy Greek yogurt with honey. Overall, a very nice stay.

The hotel is centrally located and close to everything a tourist needs to see in Athens. Tons of restaurants within walking distance and also some pedestrian only zones nearby.
The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is decent. The reception also sells water which is very convenient. My room, 507, I think had a nice balcony/terrace. The AC was strong and cooled the room quickly upon return.
The team at the reception was very helpful in providing me details of the COVID testing location around the corner.
Definitely stay there again if I visit Athens.

The location is ideal, quiet, and it is an easy walk to the main places of interest. Also close to Syntagma Square. Direct connection from the airport by metro and bus to Syntagma Square.
The staff is friendly and professional.
Good breakfast. Small breakfast room, but it was never overcrowded.

Superior rooms have a large balcony with furniture, and a nice view. Bathroom needs to be renovated, very small and basic shower.

Nice, clean and confortable hotel in the center of Athens. I stayed in Hermes Hotel during 4 days and all the staff was very kind and professional. The hotel is in the center but located in a street where there is not too many people passing by, so there is not any noise during the night. Just walking 5 minutes you can reach Monastiraki square, the neigbourhood of Plaka or Syntagma Square. Breakfast is good, from 7am until 10, continental type with greek specialities. Next time I come to visit Athens I will repeat the experience at the hotel.

The hotel's central location meant we could walk to the Acropolis, Plaka, and Syntagma Square within minutes. We especially appreciated the quiet side street location, as it offered a peaceful retreat after bustling days exploring the city. The rooftop terrace provided incredible panoramic views of the city, perfect for enjoying breakfast or an evening drink. The staff was friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a smile and offering recommendations. Overall, Hermes Hotel exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable, quiet, and well-located stay in Athens.

Comfortable room with a small fridge. But no tea, coffee facilities. These are, however, available in the downstairs lounge. The location of the hotel is great, within easy walking distance of all that you need. The breakfast on offer provides a large range of choices and more than adequate. Highly recommend! Just a word of caution about the local taxis, make sure they turn on the meter or agree on fare prior to departure, we were stung!!

Enjoyed our stay here. We had two rooms, one had shower in bathtub and other room had shower- no bathtub.
Both rooms had adequate room and storage space. Fridge in room , no kettle etc but free coffee/ tea downstairs.
I enjoyed that there were approximately 6/7 longe downstairs where you could sit with your coffee/ tea
Breakfast was a wide variety of tasty food including boiled eggs and scrambled
Bacon and sausages on alternative days, beans, lots of cold meats
Variety of fruit, pastries, cheesecake, cakes, yoghurt and other sweets
Cereals, breads and salad, olives and cheeses
The quality of the food was excellent
The machines had coffee, cappuccino, filtered coffee and hot chocolate as well as espresso etc
Compared to our last stay in Greece where we found the hotel noisy, this hotel was exceptionally quiet with no outside noise or noises heard from other guests

Pros of this hotel: nice central location within easy walking distance to the major sights, surprisingly nice breakfast with a variety of options, friendly helpful front desk staff, clean room. Minifridge in the room. Free coffee and tea offered in the downstairs lobby. Decent spacious balcony. Good value for the room, especially compared to other hotels in Athens which are also centrally located.

Cons of my stay: Small cramped room (I had superior twin room), my room was near the elevator so I would constantly hear the elevator open and close. The bathtub is quite narrow making it uncomfortable to stand in. The mattress was uncomfortable and I could feel the springs (I let the front desk know about it). The pillows were very flat.

I understand that the hotel is in a big city so they can't do much about room space, but hopefully they can get better mattresses and pillows.

Sorry, we do not have free parking. Still there are at 20 m from the hotel Parking at 15euro per day. No booking necessary. As the hotel is in the very center of Athens, we recommend not to rent the car while staying but at your departures day from Athens. Thank you

Dear Feichichi, A child of 11 years old can stay in the same room with you at an extra bed. If you book directly by email to the hotel we will offer it for free. I noticed you have enquired the same to our sister hotel Plaka. The same applies for that. Just check which hotel is more convenient for you. Please mention at your email this offer with details. Best regards
