The Electra Rhythm Athens hotel delights with its prime central location, often celebrated by guests for its easy access to the Acropolis, Plaka, and numerous shopping opportunities. Despite mixed reviews about service, with some guests finding staff helpful and others experiencing less attentiveness, the hotel consistently impresses with its cleanliness. The vibrant atmosphere resonates with visitors, though a few mention noise concerns. While the amenities, including a varied breakfast and panoramic rooftop views, are generally appreciated, some guests argue the hotel lacks value, pointing to the compact rooms and additional fees.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in early October and could not have been more pleased with the hotel, the room, the location, or the staff. The hotel is located in a very central and nice area - walking distance to basically everything. Lobby is clean, inviting, and generally upscale. Staff was always very friendly and helpful from navigating the city to giving directions to local recommendations. The rooms are small, but were maybe the nicest we stayed in during our time in Greece. Plus the rooftop restaurant (where the included breakfast is served) is gorgeous and has a straight view of the Acropolis. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Athens!

I arrived at Electra at about 11pm at night and was greeted with really friendly staff that put me at ease. The bell-boy was quick to take my bags and leave them at reception, the receptionist was prompt and got me up to my room quickly.

My room was smaller than expected but honestly it was so beautifully furnished and inviting that I didn't mind at all. The bed was to die for, like a cloud. Back in Melbourne and I'm still thinking about that mattress.

Amenities in the bathroom exceeded my expectations- the soap used by the hotel smells absolutely delicious. I slept so soundly that night.

Breakfast was a highlight for me, with the stunning view of the Parthenon and traditional Greek food. The food provided was fresh and delicious, and staff were incredibly prompt at taking my coffee order (freddo cap to die for). Really enjoyed my breakfast here- I highly recommend not skipping breakfast!

Location of the hotel was ideal, being in the central shopping district but not so close that I felt the hotel was too busy or loud. Approximately a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis museum and Parthenon, so you get to see the beautiful Athens streets on your way. Great spot to be picked up by taxis but not on a main road.

I look forward to staying here again next time I'm in Athens!

We were previously at the Electra in Plaka, this time there was no availability so without hesitation we went to another nearby one of this chain. The rooms are elegant, with all the comforts, similar to those in Plaka. The breakfast buffet was very varied, delicious and with high quality ingredients. Impeccable service both at the breakfast buffet and in the lobby. This chain is highly recommended, it is expensive but it is one hundred percent worth it.
The location in Ermou allows you to reach many good restaurants on foot, shops within walking distance and many attractions. Despite Ermou being a very busy pedestrian and commercial street, there is a lot of security and there is no noise in the rooms. Highly recommended!!

This hotel boasts a prime, central location, making it incredibly convenient for exploring shopping districts and nearby attractions. We found it effortless to navigate around, thanks to its strategic placement. The staff were notably friendly and attentive, enhancing our overall experience with their warm hospitality. As for breakfast, we were impressed by the wide array of options available, ensuring there was something to satisfy every palate. Overall, our stay was characterized by convenience, excellent service, and a satisfying start to each day with the diverse breakfast offerings. Their rooftop patio had a stunning view of the acropolis.

Weird that other people are complaining about the hospitality and service they received here cause my family and I only experienced the absolute BEST service we have ever been offered in our lives. The staff here spoiled us so much that we now compare everywhere else to their standard. I don't think I've ever experienced so much ease at setting up transportation or luggage service like we have here.

Some background - my parents and I arrived here towards the middle of September. I had already emailed the hotel about arranging pick-up from the airport, which they do through a third-party, so you'll pay the cab driver directly. It ranges from about €35-55 depending on travel time, distance, and how many bags you have. Upon arrival, we were greeting warmly by the bellhop, who immediately took care of our bags, while we checked in at the front desk. Check-in was easy, and we had no problems communicating with the front staff. We had decided to check out the rooftop restaurant for dinner since we were too lazy to roam around for a place to eat at the moment, but we def could've if we wanted to since the location is PRIME. You literally walk outside and have SO many choices to shop, eat at, and just sight see.

The rooftop restaurant they have is such a great addition to the already amazing hotel they have cause everything was so delicious! We also had breakfast here, and let me tell you how forward we were always looking to it. The selection they have is vast, so there's something for everyone. We were def a fan of the fruits and bread selection.

My family and I did also hit up the other Greek islands, so we were able to leave our bigger luggage at the hotel and easily retrieved them when we got back. We will DEF be booking here again the next time we're in Greece, and have already told our other friends and family to check out this place if they ever decide to travel here too.

Arrived at the airport at Athens after traveling a total of 27hrs., only to find after clearing customs and immigration that our private transport was not there. Forced to take a taxi van that charged us 145euros, tips not imcluded(theft). Was later told that it shouldn't have cost more than 40 euros. Arrived at the hotel 11am and after checking in told that rooms are not ready until 3pm!! We didn't personally booked the hotel it was via our travel agent who asked us to report to her any difficulties with our stay since she had never stayed at this hotel herself. It took the hotel staff 3.5hrs., to get our rooms ready. And they think they did an excellent job by giving us "priority " service by getting the rooms ready at 2:30pm instead of 3pm! Wow! Very considerate and accommodating, NOT! Yet we kept seeing other guests arriving after us and getting their rooms. Was told later that those guest had early prebooking, which we were unware of and never heard of this before. The rooms are small some wear and tear was visible. Bathroom very small and weird. You have to crawl over the toilet to get in and out of the bath tub. They also forgot to stock the bathroom with hand towels. There goes their sense of priority. They did give the other family member in our group a room upgrade but not us. I guess thats their way of retaliation because we voiced our opinion. This is certainly NOT a 4 star rated hotel. That's what we are going to report back to our travel agent so she can find better accommodation to future clients.

Dear Orh2022, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback once again. We have already responded to your previous review, but we would like to clarify a few points to ensure full transparency regarding your concerns. Firstly, we must reiterate that no private transportation arrangements were made through the hotel. We are sorry to hear about the issues you faced with the transportation you arranged independently. By Greek regulation, the set taxi fare from Athens Airport to the city center is 40 euros during the day and 55 euros during the night shift (00:00 - 05:00). Tipping is entirely at the traveler’s discretion, and we regret that you felt overcharged, but this was beyond our control. Regarding the check-in process, our official check-in time is 3:00 p.m., which is standard practice in city hotels. While we understand your frustration with the wait, we prioritized your room and managed to make it available by 2:30 p.m., earlier than the standard time. We also clarified that some guests who appeared to check in earlier had pre-booked their rooms for early access, which ensures availability for an earlier arrival. Nevertheless, the pre booking option and the check in times are matters that a travel agent should inform of their guests ahead of their travels. Regarding your further comments, we are sorry that the room did not meet your expectations in terms of size and layout, and we have shared your feedback with our housekeeping and maintenance teams. However, we always strive to provide the best possible service, and the room upgrade offered to other members of your party was made based on availability and not as retaliation, as you mentioned. Your review was published after all, long after the rooms were given to you and your party. We appreciate all feedback, and we will take your comments into consideration. Should you or your travel agent need any further clarifications, please feel free to reach out to us directly. In light of your upcoming stay, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can personally take care of all your travel details to ensure a smoother, more enjoyable experience. Kind Regards,

We booked and payed in advance for a "Classic Double or TwinRoom" that supposed to have a shower/bath combination. We were checked in a room (no. 715) that hade a tiny bathroom with not even enough space to put a toiletry bag.
The opening to the shower cabin (the advertised bathtub was nowhere to be seen) was just about 39 cm wide, and you had to step sidewise in order to enter the shower-cabin.
The room was not soundproofed and you could hear everything that was going on at the corridor.
The breakfast buffet was quite limited with no fresh orange juice. The orange squash was either very sweet or bitter.
On one occasion the hot water jug we were served tea from was rusty.
The breakfast personnel looked a bit disoriented running around and asking the guests what they have ordered.
The flower beds at the rooftop terrace were totally neglected.
From the rooftop terrace you had a nice view of Acropolis as well as of all the rusty central heating boilers of the surrounding buildings.
We did email the hotel expressing our concern about the room we were given, but we have gotten no response as yet.
Next time we visit Athens, we will definitely choose another hotel at the same area, and there are many to choose between

Just to say that everything was excellent. The Reception/Reservation staff were excellent in dealing with any Q's and organising Taxis etc.
Location could not be better, central for Shops, (Hotel is on the Main Shopping Street) Restaurants, Metro and the sites Main sites 20/30 or so minutes stroll (Remember that the Parthenon is on TOP of a large Hill (The Acropolis)
Room Clean and Bright (Would suggest try to get an upper floor as further away from Street level)
Breakfast more than adequate and view from your small terrace beautiful. Would highly recommend.

This hotel is average. The bellmen are incredibly friendly and helpful but the overall vibe of the hotel is stiff and overly formal. We paid more than we had on any other stay on our trip and got a very small room. The outlets were across the room from the beds, so my phone was inaccessible for checking the time in the morning. All of other stays in Greece had a mini fridge for us to place some drinks and snacks. This hotel stocks the fridge with mini bar options. They said we could not remove items without incurring a charge.
I wish we had stayed a bit closer to the nightlife, a few blocks downhill from the hotel.
It's close to Syntagma Square which is nice for the changing of the guard, but not much else happening in this area.
Next time we will stay closer to Metropolis Square or Plaka.

Our one night stay at Electra wasn't too great. Upon calling the hotel to see if they had parking, they advised they have a lot just 3-4 blocks away where we can leave our car. We were able to find it easily, but the streets to get there are very tight and the foot traffic is intense. We weren't planning on renting a car especially knowing beforehand the location of the hotel, but decided to anyways since Athens airport was at least a 40 minute drive and would have cost us a lot more to take a taxi. To start, they offer no luggage services from their parking lot near Electra palace (their other hotel), so we needed to drag our very heavy suitcases for at least 4 blocks to get to the hotel. Keep in mind, Athens is hilly so we were exhausted by the time we made it to the lobby. After complaining to the staff about the luggage services from the parking lot, they basically told us that they don't offer these types of requests. We were 2 people checking in and they put us in a room that was fit for only one person. It was very tight and we barely had any room to maneuver with the size of our suitcases. The rooms are rundown and not modern at all. Very small bathroom/shower and a view of the back alley. I was pleased that we only stayed one night because of this. The only positive is that the hotel is near many shops, restaurants, and only a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis which we had time to visit the next morning. I will not be staying here again if I come back to Athens.

Dear Nicole G., First and foremost we would like to thank you for choosing Electra Hotel Athens for your stay. It is with great concern to note that you were not fully satisfied with the bathroom and your room. Your input is being taken into serious consideration and reviewed with our team. As far as the issue with the luggage we understand that there had been a big miscommunication issue for which we apologize for the inconvenience caused. Our hotel does not have parking facilities. When guests inform us that the are coming with a car we usually urge them to stop nearby, unload their luggage and then proceed to park their car. Wish you could give us another opportunity to welcome you back and prove that we can serve you better. With Best Regards, The Electra Hotel Athens Team

What is the best way to get to the Athens Airport from this hotel?
Answer from GiorgosMelbourne

I would use welcome pickup. It costs about the same as a taxi (it’s a fixed price) but the taxi driver will greet you at arrivals and help you with your luggage to the car and give you a bottle of water. He will take you straight to the hotel. Alternatively, you could just get a cab or the airport express bus to Syntagma for around 6 euros (I think it is number 95). If travelling with kids and luggage, welcome pickup is a good option.
