Based on a recommendation from a Greek friend, we chose this hotel for its location, close to the main monuments of Athens. Right next door is the Acropolis Museum, and in 3 minutes, you can reach the entrance to the Acropolis of Athens. You can't ask for more. We arrived early and were fortunate to be able to check into one of the rooms (we had two), so we could leave all our luggage. The attention received, in English, was absolutely perfect. They even came out to take our suitcases when unloading them from the car. They assigned us Room 307 (the other room was 124). Room 307 faces the main facade, while Room 124 was a more interior room with a small balcony. Both were in perfect condition. It's worth mentioning that in the bathroom, you'll find a bathrobe and bath slippers, in addition to everything necessary for hygiene. The Wi-Fi requires identification with an email to access it, and it works correctly. Room cleaning was always correct and very early, as it was common to find the room made up after breakfast. The room package includes bed and breakfast. Breakfast is a buffet with a variety of products, more than enough for a good breakfast. It's worth noting that the coffee maker is one of those that grinds the coffee at the moment. Overall, a very good choice for its location and the attention received. A thousand thanks!

This hotel is a great location, on a quiet street in the Makrygianni neighborhood. It is a 3 to 5 minute walk to the pedestrian walkway that is at the base of the Acropolis and less than 10 minutes to the main entrance of the Acropolis. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always smiling. A breakfast buffet comes with the price of the room and is worthwhile - a great selection of eggs, meats, breads, fruits, and cereal. We ate lunch in the bar/lounge area our first day and loved the atrium feel and the salads we ordered. Our room was #319 facing the Acropolis (gorgeous at night) and had a small balcony to enjoy a morning Nespresso. The rooms on the Acropolis side face an elementary school so during the day there is the sound of children playing at recess. Having raised 3 children, we were fine with the sound but those who don’t like kids might not. The rooftop bar/restaurant is only open from May to October, but they allow guests to enjoy the rooftop to read or have a drink on their own. It was a great spot to wind down each evening after a busy day. We really enjoyed our stay here and 10/10 recommend it!

This place was spotless. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The cleaning staff even found us after an exhausting day to say she found money in our room and wanted to give it back. Well we had left if for her and of course let her keep it. The room was very quiet, although a bit noisy on two of the four nights due to music playing loudly up on the rooftop, but we did have the atrium right outside the room. It did seem more quiet away from that. The music did quite around 11:30pm so not too bad, The location is excellent for the Acropolis and food very easy to find. Breakfast was great with a lot of options. Even with very hot weather the room cooled to a very comfortable temperature. I would easily go back. Great place to stay.

This hotel gets better and better all the time. The rooms have been refurbished, including bathrooms, and while a bit smallish they are very nice with great bedding/mattresses. The rooftop dining/bar are top notch. The staff works very hard to accommodate every request, whether for a prized table or a seat when the place is already packed and you failed to reserve. The bartenders are first class, highly trained and skilled, and provide an endless hilarious banter to entertain you. The buffet breakfast this year is the best so far, with more offerings and more staff on hand to assist you. The two elevators are very small and some patience is required, and the drab if newly painted hallways could use a facelift. All in all, it is an outstanding value in a lively place with fine rooms and excellent service, and in prime location for walking/touring. I look forward to my next visit.

We had the family apartment offered by the hotel; next building but all the amenities and staff of hotel. There's no elevator but the staff carried up our bags. Most importantly, the staff were amazing and the bellman made great recommendations for supper. The apartment was perfect, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Most important in June, great A/C! All the comforts of a full kitchen. Small balcony but it was too hot for us to enjoy on our visit. The washer machine provided was not something I was familiar with, so I never did get it working right but I also did not reach out for help. Breakfast was a nice buffet in the hotel. The location is ideal, right around the corner from the Acropolis Museum and the Metro station. We were pleasantly surprised how easy it was to use the Metro and avoid some heat! We felt very safe walking around the area in the evenings. We had a beautiful meal at the rooftop restaurant, definitely recommend booking in advance, handled in pre arrival emails.

Very good choice from all aspects , price, location , delicious breakfast , spotless rooms and very polite staff always ready to offer their help. Historical Athens is just around the corner. Acropolis metro station is only 100 meters away and the bus stop for bus 230 is 30 meters away.

The hotel is conveniently located to many visitor sites. The front desk personnel could not be more helpful. It was a great two night stay to conclude a cruise.
We ate one night at the hotel restaurant, and it was convenient and adequate. There are a lot of restaurants that are in the area. Rooftop bar/restaurant was open for drinks only on Monday and we had drinks at sunset.
One minor gripe is we returned to hotel in later afternoon after 8 hours of touring by foot. We had bought a couple of 1 Euro cost cookies at a local store shortly before our return to the hotel. We had tea at the restaurant/lounge. We were told we were violating their policy by bringing in the cookies. Our reaction was "get over it" since we were spending close to 2K Euros between a couple of multi-night rooms plus dinner. Very unpleasant and unnecessary in my judgement in light of all the circumstances. They did not even offer a comparable cookie!!

The room (superior with a view of the acropolis) is of a decent size with a large code safe but lacks storage and the bathroom is small but functional. We stayed at Herodian Hotel in Sept. 2021 at the start of a cruise and so enjoyed our stay that we selected them again this year for a stay in October at the end of a cruise. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby extends into a "living room" like area and a bar, great for hanging out for a late afternoon or early evening rest after sightseeing. The breakfast is very good with lots of choices of hot foods, breakfast pastries, fruit, yogurt, and more. The location is very handy, with the Acropolis Museum only a block away and the Acropolis itself a short walk on a pedestrian walkway. Both are visible from the hotel's rooftop restaurant and hot tub area. About three blocks away is a mostly-pedestrian street lined with reasonably priced restaurants and the start of the tourist shopping area, good for little souvenirs to take home. Highly recommend!

This is our second stay at the Herodion. Our fist was in 2017. We had planned to return sooner but Covid intervened. None the less, we are here for our second visit.
The hotel is as comfortable and refined as we remember. We stayed in a king room with more than adequate room for our three suitcases. In the bathroom, one can shower while the other uses the sink (I love the rain showerhead).
The lobby includes a bar, a small restaurant and setting to relax when waiting. The cucumber flavored water is a nice touch.
The staff is gracious, helpful and very professional. Everyone in the hotel greets you pleasantly and radiates warmth.
The accommodations are reasonably priced and the value is obvious once you've stayed here.
When our fourth trip comes around, we know where we are staying.

I can understand why you would want to do that but we did not use the TV while we were there. I don't recall seeing any way to plug into the TV there was no TV box in the room. The TV was on the wall with no console table underneath.
